WHO LIKES To drink
Time
"I can say 'rat droppings'. That does not mean I want to eat them."

I remember in college, we wanted to get drunk, but didn't have a lot of money, so we bought a 24-pack of Keystone Light.

That crap was soooooooo nasty, that we decided to dilute the beer a little by putting it into a blender with bananas and calling them "banana beer daquiris".

After about 7 or 8 of them, they didn't taste so bad anymore.

^^^ LOL!

"I cannnot believe that it so so hard to find anywhere under 40 bucks, I was lucky that some guy didn't know what he had on Amazon.co.uk and I scored it(literally!) for under 15 bucks including shipping from the UK."

I got my sealed THX Faces ANH LD from a guy at Half.com for 9 bucks many years ago. Go figure.

^^^ Thank you.

"Which laserdisk was used for that shot. The uncorrected color looked worse than the THX versions."

For one of these, I think I used my original capture as a comparison. It's been awhile. I'll have to double-check.

"Unfortunately the aspect ratio of the video is off, it seems that the vertical resolution has been compressed when it should have been stretched. (Or was that just so that the before and after could be shown in the splitscreen arrangement?)"

Correct on the last statement. I tried to make both scenes as visible as possible. Many of the "fixes" I've made are very, very tiny, and are lost in the detail due to 1) being reframed to a smaller size, and 2) by virtue of the DivX codec. In the Flyover scene, most of the dropouts on on the planet surface, but you really have to look to see them. I'm probably far more meticulous about them than I need to be (after a first run in Combustion, I review the video in VirtualDub, which makes these glitches stand out even more), but if I can see them, then I delete them.

Lucasfilm to sell Physical Effects Unit

^^* Agreed.

"With any gods of your choice as my witness I would NEVER dis Tron! C'mon MBJ, you've read enough of my posts to realize that. (and FYI the new comic series, based on 2.0 but running with the ideas of the movie, is pretty cool. For that matter the first issue of a new Buckaroo Bonzai comic, written by creator Earl Mac Rauch, is out as well... cool stuff) "

LOL...I know, man. It's all good. BTW, is this a paper comic book series? I'd love to see it, and the BB comic as well.

Speaking of Tron, I had to do a Father's Day video for my church, and based it on a motorcycle theme, pasting people's faces on segments from DVDs (Charlie's Angels II, Terminator, Easy Rider.) I had a really cool fade into Tron, and putting the faces inside the bikes was tough, but worth it.)

Satellite radio
Time
Well, my Directv has XM channels too, but I never get around to those. My house is in an area that gets lousy TV and radio reception, so cable/satellite TV was a must, but I rarely listen to the radio. I drive a mile to work, and usually listen to home-brewed CDs in the car. I guess I should listen to it through my computer. The comedy channel had some pretty damned funny stuff.

We'll only turn on the XM receiver when we are using the motorhome, but the radio also has an AUX IN, which we plan to plug our little Rio into (I just received my 2GB SD chip today.) It'll play CDs also (with MP3/WMA support), but this is much easier.

I saw one or two radios that have a card slot for SD chips to plug right into. Wouldn't that be nice to have on all the radios....

Satellite radio

Well, I guess my XM experience was just not Star-Warsy enough for the general discussion thread, so I'll discuss it here.

I was just bragging about how within 5 minutes of getting it turned on in my motorhome, I switched over to the Movie Soundtrack channel and heard Empire Strikes Back, my favorite SW soundtrack (and one of my favorites overall.)

I have XM, but I was wondering if anyone else had satellite radio, and if so, which one?

Peter Jackson the new Luca$???
Time
And how worthy is the time you are investing in this thread? And at these forums? And choosing to nit pick about the people who complain and make someone else's work as their own? Obviously, such is worthy enough for you, because you obviously can't get enough of it. So much so that you keep coming back to these boards to troll, and then feigning surprise at the responses you get. Pathetic.

Take your high horse elsewhere, or don't you have the guts to make make something of your own? It's quite clear that these boards aren't for you for several reasons - many of which are the reasons these boards exist to begin with, and yet here you are. Quite troubling, actually. Apparently, my "high horse" isn't the only thing that bothers you, despite what you previously said.

The funny part is, you are using our namecalling as an excuse to come back. Truth is, you just can't bring yourself to find another site, because your "high horse" mentality can't bear to let these fan-edits or the complaints go. I'm curious - how many of these SW fan-edits (that people who don't own these films made) do you have copies of? If you had any integrity, it would be zero, but I'm sure you have a few, and I doubt you'd be that honest anyways.

"but some people have to resort to name calling..... "

And the winner for starting the flame war goes to: "When Lucas does this it's a slap in the fan's face... when Jackson does it..... it's spin time."

You didn't want a discussion. You wanted to ruffle feathers, and later admitted to such. This, of course, was followed up by:

"If this was LFL, there would be plenty said about it. But PJ gets a pass."

"one results in spin... the other in fanboy outrage."

"Seems like there's a double standard....."
(This came when you completely misunderstood the intent of that post, which referred to two separate releases, and not widescreen/fullscreen)

Stupid Luca$.... offering a cheaper set without the bonus disc. Money grubber. (This came when the mistake was pointed out to you, making you mad and having to resort to sarcasm instead.)

Quite a few imflammatory posts, there - aimed squarely at the people in this thread, of course. Care to look between the first and last posts of your and find the ones that are returning the name-calling?
