"I love that this statement is showing up on OriginalTrilogy.com"

I admit it: it's the capitalist in me. Besides, there are different versions depending on one's source material as well. I've had many people question my use of the Faces set over the Def. Col., and there's a certain someone here who doesn't approve of using any NTSC version.

"the people who'd pull it off of that ng probably have no problem deleting the old one and burning a new one."

Oh, believe me, I know. However, they would have to recompile the MPEG, so they'd be stuck with a lower-quality version. It's just quality control, that's all. I want to keep track of what versions I'm putting out.

PolyMeR, I'm only done with the first third, and I just wanted some input on the work so far. That being said, it's beginning to look like most people in here (including Rikter) don't use newsgroups, so I probably won't bother. I just didn't know if putting a partial version on MySpleen would make sense - not that I have a problem with it either way. Since it takes quite a bit of time to finish each section, I just wanted people to get a glimpse of what's happened so far.

"after Blaksvn gave a favorable review with your early screener version"

Believe me - this one looks far better.

Agreed. At this point, he's gone from being a racist, to being an ignorant racist. I just thought I'd point out the obvious lack of research that he's put into his viewpoint (a rather simple search on Yahoo, I might add. )

Daniel, go ahead and rail away at America. I and many others have better things to do than point out all the flaws in your assertions. Have a nice life.

[EDIT] I still wanted to hear from him when Australia went socialist. Oh well...

"did you know that casinos in Vegas actually moved to make card counting illegal? Yeah, I know, that's just SO unbelievably capitalistic. Thankfully it didn't work. and in Atlantic City it is illegal for a casino to ask a counter to leave."

Sooooo, let me get this straight...our "capitalistic" system denied the casinos the right to use this "capitalistic" measure? Gee, I guess there's hope for our "capitalistic" system after all, since it obviously doesn't allow everything that you consider to be "capitalistic". LOL! (Of course, it looks like you are off on one of your little Anti-American tangents again.)

"He didn't like the (capitalistic) hollywood system."

And so he did it his way, which is still "capitalistic", according to you, unless you are changing your definitions.

BTW, you seemed to miss this question in the other thread, so I'll ask again here.

You keep talking about "capitalist America". Would you mind telling me when Australia became socialist?

I'll give you time to look up the date.

Oh, I just ran across this...

THE BEST AND WORST CASINOS IN AUSTRALIA
While at some of the casinos on the east coast I also checked out the
current blackjack rules and conditions. As a result of this (and
valuable contributions from Blackjack Australia visitors on casinos I
couldn't get to) I have finally updated the website. The site now has a
page dedicated to each casino with contact details, blackjack rules,
basic strategy, table limits and current penetration.

You can visit the website at http://www.blackjack.iinet.net.au and make
your own conclusions as to which are the best and worst casinos in
Australia for card counters. If you would like my opinion though, I
would forget about card counting at Reef, Lasseters, MGM Grand,
Townsville, and both of the Tasmanian casinos. Although the rules at
some of these casinos may be favourable (the Tassie casinos have the
lowest house edge in the country), they all are so small that it is easy
for a card counter to be noticed, and to be subsequently barred .

I would also add Burswood to the list of casinos to avoid. Although
size is not an issue here, the introduction of Continuous Shuffling
Machines last year makes card counting impossible.

Why those damn, dirty Socialistic Australian casinos! HOW DARE THEY ACT LIKE CAPITALISTS! And barring card-counters, no less - quite the opposite of the "capitalistic" casinos in Atlantic City, wouldn't you say?

"Pretty easy, no?"

LOL. Nice modem you've got there. (hee hee )

"As is I have a firewire capture port (which I use for my DV tapes), but nothing for composite."

Yeah, you don't want to use your camcorder as a capture device for the LDs. It will work, but you get much better quality from a real capture board (although using firewire to download your digital tapes is fine, because there's no conversion going on.)

"LOL, can't believe missed that."
"obviously ife I control a Picasso"

"And no, censorship is not stoping something from being seen"

"may I suggest youl simply observe."

"then it is hypercritical of you to ask Lucas to do so."

"Zion: Your augment is mute. You are asking Lucas to release his work unaltered. Let's - for augments sake"

"Now I know how capatalistic America really is"

"My point is just that he's grown up in a capatalistic society that have forced their views on him."

Can you believe you missed all those (and that's just in this thread,) For someone who accuses me of going off on tangents, this is rather ironic (though apparently in character, considering your misuse of terminology and racial stereotypes.) As to me going off topic - I've addressed every point you brought up, and you've responded to less than 5% of my posts.

Point being, you are clearly in no position to make fun of other's posts, so cut it out, okay?

LOL

Well, fellow Capitalists...I was hoping to have a copy of my transfer on alt.binaries.starwars today, but I ran the wrong transfer. Since it takes 6 hours to compile, and I had other chores to do on the computer, it will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

It will be about 1.3 Gbs, at 24fps, and there will be a small "mebejedi" logo on the bottom right hand corner to keep people from making a DVD with the footage before it is done.

"You've got the correct definition of capitalism, if you can't work out what it means in real life then that's not my problem."

Actually, it is your problem. You seem to keep singleling me out as the only person who disagrees with your use of the word, despite the fact that every other person in this thread has disagreed with you. Talk to them, not to me.

...and there's not much to discuss civilly. Rather than simply state this is difference of opinion, DanielB has somehow concluded that his opinion is right, and my opinion, as well as that of all the people who support my changes, is clouded by a laundry list of societal evils, and we should all think what he thinks.

Not going to happen, DanielB. Sorry.

"I notice things like the giant hair on the Fox logo right before it fades out"

I wonder if that was in the original theatrical version...

"As you can see, the Spider set has less detail and vibrant color."

That also looks like a problem with the 2-3 pulldown. I wonder how his DVD recorder deals with that? I would presume it's copying that effect straight off the laserdisc.

"This shot shows an example of those "vertical lines" that appear sometimes on the TR47 set."

Well, they are not quite the same scene (althought second one is.) Are you referring to the "stair-step" effect in Vader's lightsaber?
