Time
He was - Time resumed before Sylar grabbed the sword. Notice that his mother had been frozen in place as she fell. Time resumed as hiro swung the sword and she continued to fall to the floor.

I'll have to watch that again. I thought Sylar moved his eyes before Hiro swung. Did Hiro stop "stopping" time, or did Sylar somehow become immune. Interesting question.

There were 2 separate paintings. 1 of peter lying dead or dying in front of the clock - this was the initially missing panel.

Which, again, while coming true, wasn't all it was meant to be.

"the other was a cheerleader [thought to be claire] lying dead with sylar standing over her"

No, it was claire on the steps with a shadow looming over her. This is where Peter ran into her and confronted Sylar.

"Yes but i think Isaac's plan did involve Hiro traveling to the future [that future] and back again, for some reason. He told sylar he was going to 'show them how to kill you' - Given that he wasn't going to survive the encounter he had to have already planned something out - ie: the comic book pages or the sketchbook.

Perhaps. I guess it really all depends on whether Sylar survives in the last episode or not. Didn't Hiro say something about it not being time to kill Sylar yet? I don't recall if they mentioned a timeframe or not. Technically speaking, if all Hiro does is stab Sylar, then Sylar should be able to heal (unless the sword is left in him. Maybe the broken end breaks off again inside him, leading everyone to believe he's dead?

Peter died - they didn't know Claire would / could resurrect him
The dead cheerleader is jackie - not claire. We cant know if at any point this was to be claire.
Hiro and Ando were there - just not at the same time.

It appears we're on the same track here, but I don't get the reference on the last one. I'll go back and look for the scene I was talking about as well.

"He has no need for combat training - He can freeze time and space - as he often reminds us."

In case you forgot, Sylar was not affected by freezing time.

At the end of the episode, Sylar said to Peter "They said I blew up the city, but we both know that's not the truth, don't we." Combine that with Isaac's paintings and Peter's vision of himself blowing up....So the question isn't who will blow up, it's can the future be changed or are Isaac's paintings set in stone? If they are set in stone, then Sylar will die by Hiro's sword and Peter will blow up New York."

True, but the "future" may be changed now that "Hiro" has gone back in time with his prior knowledge. I remind you that he had the comic book at the beginning of the series, and yet knew nothing about killing a man. Surely, he (like any one of us) would have looked at the end of the comic book as soon as we got it, to see what would happen next. "Future" Hiro came from a time where the cheerleader was killed, and Sylar got the healing power, making him almost impossible to kill. THAT timeline no longer exists. Based on that reasoning, the artist's painting of New York exploding came from the second timeline. I'm guessing that after "current" Hiro came back, more things will change from what they might have been. I wouldn't necessarily confuse Peter's dreams with the paintings of the future. They could simply be his worst fears, rather than actual premonitions, and the painting shows someone blowing up, but we really don't see who it is. It could be that Sylar ends up blowing up, or no one blows up as well.

IIRC (I'll have to go back and watch to double-check), I seem to recall that there was a painting showing the cheerleader on the steps with "Sylar" looking down on her, but when it came to that point in time, it was Peter in that actual position. I swear I remember pointing this out to my wife.

The future can be changed. Even Isaac told Sylar they will stop him. I doubt he was referring to the "future" that Hiro just came back from. Otherwise, why not just let things run their course?

"We have to take anything we saw / learned in "five years gone" with a grain of salt. But one thing we did learn was that Future Hiro had altered the course of events and the city still blew up."

But then he changed it again by sending current Hiro back with more knowledge. As long as Hiro survives, he can keep going back until they get it right.

And I'm also wondering when we will see the dinosaur (dragon?) as well...

Do the Jedi steal children?
Time
"When you're a state-sanctioned warrior monk with a weapon at his side, trained in "aggressive negotiation," and capable of influencing people's minds ... yeah, they pretty much used force, or the implicit threat of force, to take those children*. Or they just paid the parents off. Either way, the idea of toddlers being raised by cloistered fanatical religious warriors is almost as offensive to me as Jar-Jar Binks."

It wouldn't even require that. Just think - people know what the Jedi are capable of. Would you, as a non-Force-user, feel comfortable trying to discipline a young Force user? Just think of what could happen to you. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those parents were throwing their children at the Jedi!

Yeah, so when will I be able to walk around robed in a flashy new XØ Project t-shirt? If this thing really is fake as everyone is claiming it is, you guys are really doing it wrong. You see, you are suppose to get some hype going, then play the marketing card hard and heavy. You guys are the worst con men ever!! If I didn't know any better I wold think you really were working on the project and that it really does exist. Fortunately for me, I love a good conspiracy, so I am sticking with the OCPMovie view that this is just a cry for attention and a way to sell t-shirts (though I am loosing my faith in this view, as there are no t-shirts for sell and you guys are too busy with the project to care about attention). Well, good luck with the "project"

That made me smile, as well as your .sig

LOL...you've got a long way to go.

And while I'm at it, is it just me, or did a few of the events from last night's episode seem a little....rushed. The suspense has really been building up nicely over several episodes, but there were a few "quickies" that the producers had to get in because it's the second to last episode (Petrelli - "Shoot me...no wait, I'm okay, Hiro being trained in a few hours).

Not a huge knock against the show, I just don't want the last episode to seem like ROTS, where everything important was held back until the very end, rather than all the events naturally dovetailing together at the end. It's a fine line to walk without letting too many secrets known, but they've done a fine job so far. (I still loved the "dead girlfriend" showing up in the previews, leading us to believe she had powers, only to find out it was someone else. That was a clever trick.)

A few questions on creating AVI's
Time
Well, it depends on what the final product will be. The only full 5.1 track that I created was for my prototype DVD. I did experiment with the Jaws "da-dum" music, rotating the 5 channels in a circle around the listener. THAT was an awesome effect.

For the most part, I usually try to keep the audio in PCM, unless I need the disk space, but a 2.0 track can be made straight from the stereo track off the timeline. A 5.1 track, done correctly, requires 5 separate streams, each designated for a specific speaker.

What's nice about Vegas is, if you are creating a new video edit, and want to create a new 5.1 soundtrack to go with it, you can run the AC3 through Besweet, get your five streams, place them in the timeline under the video, and link the video to all the audio streams. Whenever you make a cut and move video, all the streams stay together, and your final audio will match the video.

The Matrix

The first one, to me, is almost a perfect movie in many ways.

Two tried to create importance, but it was ultimately fluff. There were lots of questions to make it seem profound, and contrived suspense, but no real payoff. And then, to top it all off, the "real world"...wasn't. That was quite a let-down. I really hate the "dreams-within-dreams" concept in most films. One of the few films that really did this well was "The 13th Floor".

Revolutions sucked.

Info Wanted: MeBeJedi Prototype: Anybody know anything about it?
Time
LOL...is that thing still lurking around?

It's my first attempt at a release, and to showcase some experimentation I was doing.

There are three soundtracks (or two? I forget now.) I do know it has the AC3 soundtrack created from the stereo soundtrack, and it also has the LD commentary from the Definitive Collection, accessible from scene-specific menus (The LD commentary is not full-length, and there are long pauses in between.)

Just out of curiosity, who sent it to you? (I'm not upset.....it just seemed like it was sent randomly to you.....some sort of "SW-DVD-of-the-month-club" or something. XD )

Would like help (tips/tutorials) for my upcoming SW:OUT project

"You could upmix the matrixed 2-channel Dolby Surround into a "fake" 5.1 mix. IMHO there isn't really a valid reason to do this, I would leave it as it is and just play the audio through a Dolby Pro-logic decoder when watching the DVD."

When I did this, I ran the stereo feed through a "software" DPLII simulator, because my receiver doesn't have this mode. DPLII is especially suited for stereo recordings, whereas DPL works best with DPL recordings. The DPLII streams were extracted and hard-coded in an AC3 stream. It's essentially the same soundtrack you would get from a DPLII receiver. I made it for myself for these reasons (and no, I still don't have a newer receiver. )

Besweet will separate the AC3 track into 5 files. The nice thing is, you can link all the audio and video tracks together, so that when a cut is made, it's shared at the same spot amongst all the files, and they can be dragged and dropped together.

If you are using music from a CD, Vegas keeps both tracks together (you'll see Left and Right side by side in the same track). There are, of course, ways to separate the tracks if so desired. If you are trying to create a 5.1 track from a stereo CD track, that's a whole 'nother discussion. For now, you are probably better off just creating an AC3 2.0 track, which you can do straight from the timeline.

"One of the great things about Sony Vegas is the ability to retain a 5.1 soundtrack - a neccesity for me."

I'm curious to know what you mean by this. If you edit the AVI and must edit the audio to match, Vegas won't create a new 5.1 track straight from the original 5.1 track. You will have to split it into 5 channels and create a new (read: recompressed) 5.1 track.

If this is not what you meant, then just ignore me.

I agree. This show was awesome. It really put last week's show into perspective with Sylar drawing the future vision of Nathan Petrelli as President. We now know that what he was drawing was actually himself, except he was using the chameleon power at that point in time. Neat trick. (One of many, actually. I like how they had a preview showing the shot girlfriend appearing "alive" again, giving the impression that she had powers. Later, we found out it was only chameleon girl. Someone at NBC has a sick sense of humor. LOL!)

Also, my TIVO finished the show, but cut out during the preview for next week. Here's the preview for next week.
