The Killer isn't mine. I am not sure if it is even torrented as of yet. I'll PM him.
This thing should be posted on YouTube and shared with Harry Knowles, who is a Conan freak.
OK, when when and where WHERE can we download this and burn our own BD? This is like torture. Seriously.
Hard Boiled or The Killer?
Agreed. Watermarks are just rude.
It's around but I have not seeded it in years. Working on a BluRay version.
I'm near suicidal over missing the deadline. I had no idea until it was too late!! :(
If I remember correctly the Anchor Bay releases have that annoyance of the frame jumping slightly with each and every cut. It makes the films unwatchable to me. But it's been years and years since I viewed them, so I could be wrong about ABT2.
Grab a flight to NYC! All of Jackie's films are being shown this week. Most via 35mm prints.
Certainly an improvement over the official DVD. But it is soft. Best viewed on a smaller TV.
For fans of the film this is your only option. I am seeding it whenever I can.
Last night I saw a 35mm print of OPERATION CONDOR. It was from the HK theatrical run and therefore, riddled with scratches. The reel changes were a disaster. But it was still a blast.
Despite the print being old and worn it was clear that the detail in the Fortune Star BD is lacking.
Later this week... POLICE STORY 1, 2, 3 and DRUNKEN MASTER 2.
It would be price prohibitive to go so far as scan sections of his print.
Hey there, I am super interested in your Trancers. Sounds like a lot of work.
I'll be seeing DRUNKEN MASTER 2 in the big screen later this month. Supposedly the original Hong Kong release.

*sigh* I have tried to have that one removed and replaced with my updated one, but it isn't working out. Annoying because all of those things are fixed.
As long as those are fixed, that's fine. I did have one question about an awkward exchange (maybe also fixed). In the conversation between Tequila and Long on the boat, Tequila asks "Should I salute you?" twice. Is that the real translation of the second question?
Essentially, yes. This is where Cantonese sometimes doesn't translate well to English. I debated this and my Canto speaking friend said use the line twice or he can also say something like, "do I bow down to you" etc.

Final Subtitles here...
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/4968714/lat-sau-san-taam-en
The ones at this link definitely had errors, although my personal copy is now so different from yours for non-error-correction reasons that I can't really provide an itemized list, sorry. Things I remember are: lots of OCR errors where a lowercase L was confused with an I and that sort of thing (not visible when rendered in a typical sans-serif font, but still), a few missing articles here and there (get him to hospital, he joined triads in 85), equipped with one "P", matter of time spelled "metter", "happent" instead of "happen", "feeing better now", "disappoinment", and a few others I'm afraid I just don't remember.
EDIT: It's coming back to me now... Sui wasn't capitalized once, triad(s) was capitalized inconsistently (I opted for lowercase). There was a line that went: "- A criminal./- A criminal?" and the punctuation on the two lines was reversed (question should come last). And yeah... you have my sympathies on the subtitle editing front...
*sigh* I have tried to have that one removed and replaced with my updated one, but it isn't working out. Annoying because all of those things are fixed.
I'll have BOTH subtitles files completely corrected. Hard Boiled already is (i'll send it to you now) and The killer is nearly there. Just a tiny bit left to do.
Ben,
If you are talking about my subs I have fixed all the errors. Many have checked and didn't find any. It's quite possible that one of my links has the old version. I will check and get back to you all.
Please remember that editing subs is tedious business. I have no one checking my work.
Thanks. I appreciate it. That thing nearly killed me. I am still tired! :)
I wish I was better at subtitles. I would have changed the timing and such, but all I was able to do was work with what I had and re-word the script according to my consultation with my Canto speaking pal.
Having previewed what Schmidlap has been doing, all I can say is... We are going to be in for a real treat. Looks like I won't even need to mess with my own hybrid.
It's in storage at the moment. I am not sure if was recorded free and clear or if it had 5C (copy once) protection. If it has 5C I'll have no idea how to get past it.
I'll be down to visit the folks this summer and can find the DVHS tape, bring it home and check.
It has chapter stops. Every 3 minutes, I believe.
I still have my DVHS recorded Cable broadcast. 1.78:1 open matted and more detail vs the 2.35:1 DTheater DVHS release, which was DNR'd/filtered. Moron studios.
Unfortunately, the 5.1 on the DTheater is far better than the 5.1 on the Cable broadcast.
I'm just hoping for a Blu-Ray thatgets it right. But it'll probably be turned teal.
