FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
I would like an edit of Titanic which makes the movie more frightening. Of the course the love story would remain, it carries the story. But it would be shortened to what is really necessary. Then, when the ship starts to sink, the real horror begins. Bloody deaths are shown. One after another, often without any breaks between them. Some scene, e.g. dogs running around, are cut out. The love story moves into the background. The action mostly concentrates on the hopeless fate of the passengers.

So Titanic would become a real horror movie.

Sluggo's Star Wars Trailer Contest *Next contest begins April 25th*
Time
Both trailers are wonderful!
Requiem for a Dream suits perfectly to ROTJ!
And the second trailer showed me that the sound effects tribute a lot to the atmosphere of the movie.
They sounded old, and so seemed the movie. Another important point for my quest of making the prequels feel old (which I'll maybe continue someday).

Nice job, Jambe Davdar and Jon Schell!

What about the third winner's trailer?

.: The MQG Clip Thread :. (video clips from Star Wars movies with changed music)
Time
I uploaded the Battle Of Yavin Clip which I did the other day.

- EpIV: Battle Of Yavin

In the afternoon I worked a bit on the Battle Of Naboo. I did some cuts to establish energy, but in some cases that wasn't possible. "The Battle Of Yavin" was used as music. And it's not to be looked at as being a perfect edit, for example the automatic pilot. Just watch it yourself:

- EpI: Battle Of Naboo Part 1

The second part will follow later maybe.

Always when I edit a scene of Star Wars and add music from another movie, it's not to be seen as a serious Star Wars edit! It's just for playing around with different music for creating different emotions. Of course the Circle of Life song isn't Star Wars style, but I like the scene I created very much. Qui-Gon dies. Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon's apprentice, becomes a Jedi-Knight and is now ready to take an apprentice on his own, Anakin. At Qui-Gon's funeral you see some scenes of Qui-gon to remember the time with him, after that his ghost voice says to Anakin: "May the force be with you!" and that's sort of saying goodbye, Qui-Gon's time is over. Now Obi-Wan is the master and Anakin is his apprentice. That's a bit like the circle of life.

I decided to show you what I did with the end of Episode I. There are some edits and this time I used music from The Lion King. Because I like this video clip very much, I want you to have the possibility to watch it in better quality than the youtube one. So I uploaded it at GigaSize.com, but of course it's also uploaded at youtube. Here it is:

Thank you for your feedback, I really love that!

@Dantha Fodder: The clips with Titanic music are just for playing around. They would never get into a serious edit of ROTS. But there are some people who like those scenes with Titanic music and they told me it makes them wanna cry and I like them too. So, playing around with music from other movies can make it feel different, but not necessarily bad.

I did something with the end of Episode I with music from a very popular movie and the result is astonishing and makes me wonder whether I should try a new edit of Episode I or not. It would have a length of 90 minutes, but I don't know if I will find the time and mood to do it. Editing the music is nearly the most difficult thing in editing a movie. You have to rebuild the sound effects because they can't be seperated from the original music, and sometimes it's even the same with the dialogue. If I decide not to do it, I will post this clip here, in hope that there's an editor somewhere outside there who want's do this one.
