Frankly that’s not surprising. EA’s handling of the license has been absolutely terrible. Their exclusivity deal should be pulled.

I agree! Not to go off this discussion thread, but I wouldn’t be surprised if their announced game, Jedi Fallen Order, gets cancelled like Visceral’s game due to, “not selling well because it is a single player campaign with no multiplayer.” Greedy behavior, Electronic Arts!

I wouldn’t worry about it. There’s going to be a huge presence there for IX. All the usual suspects will be in attendance, JJ, the cast, Kennedy. I doubt you’ll even hear a single “Boo!” from the crowd.

You’re right. The fans who don’t like the new movies probably won’t go. But anything is possible. I know that EA got booed last year at the Battlefront II panel, but then again, tons of us, including me, were not fans of EA’s Battlefront reboot.

What did everyone here think of the game adaptation of Revenge of the Sith? I personally wasn’t a fan of the PS2/Xbox version. I thought it was very repetitive in its gameplay, and I felt that it didn’t offer a whole lot to come back playing. The adaptation of the movie has many deviations. Some of the deviations are cool, and some of them were weird. Especially that Padmé doesn’t make a single appearance in the whole game! I actually got a bit of a kick out of the GBA/DS version, though. What did you all think of this game adaptation?

Very lazy money-grab game back in the day when they had to make every big movie into one. Zero value other than it had scenes from the movie before its premiere.

I thought Anakin’s turn to the Dark Side was portrayed even better in the game’s cutscenes than it was the the actual film. The alternate ending was also a nice edition.

^ I live in Chicago , are you saying Chicago fans are toxic and Florida fans are not ? not sure what point you are trying to make here …

No! Absolutely not! I’m talking about fans all around the world. Some of them are toxic, some of them are not. I am just saying that Star Wars Celebration in Florida last year was before The Last Jedi came out. There was a bit of toxicity growing in the fan base before Episode VIII came out, but as soon as the film came out, the whole fandom when down quickly. It’s hard for me to be a Star Wars fan (especially of The Last Jedi) without being bashed about my opinions. There is nothing wrong with Chicago. Chicago is just where the next Celebration will be held in April 2019. Fans from around the world attend Star Wars Celebration, as do fans who go to San Diego Comic-Con. I am not from either Orlando, Chicago, or San Diego, but I went to Celebration for my first time last year, and I loved it!

I am not planning on going to Star Wars Celebration mainly because of the toxic fanbase. I don’t want to go there to be bullied, whether it be verbally or physically.

Having attended near to half of them, I can assure you there’s no risk of that. The fans that attend are the kind that are there to celebrate the franchise in its entirety.

The toxic “fans” only exist online.

I have been to Star Wars Celebration in Florida last year. I loved it! I’m just talking about the one coming up in Chicago, now that The Last Jedi has come out.

The truth is is that the sequel trilogy, nor any of the Star Wars content put out by Disney started toxicity. It began with fanbase. The fanbase who bullied Jake Lloyd, Hayden Christensen, Ashley Eckstein, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran. It’s okay to not like the new movies, but there is no reason to bully and harass those who like the new content, as well as people involved in the creation of it. If you don’t like the new movies put out by Disney, then stop going to see them. Plain and simple. There is no reason to attack those with differing opinions. I’m sorry that anyone here is not a fan of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, but I am. There is no reason to attack someone who likes something that you do not like. I am not planning on going to Star Wars Celebration mainly because of the toxic fanbase. I don’t want to go there to be bullied, whether it be verbally or physically. I am not a sports fan, but I don’t attack anyone who likes football, basketball, etc. By doing that, it makes yourself look like a hateful person that nobody wants to be around. That is something I or anyone else out there does not want to become.

I love the sequel trilogy. Why is there so much hate for it!? Did everyone forget about the prequels!?

Please get off Ryan’s cock. TLJ sucks ass!! At least the prequels had some watchability

Be nice, or be dog food.

Thank you very much for standing up for me, but I think it is best that you do not give any toxic bullies in the fanbase any notification and recognition by not responding to them. You are just giving them justification by doing so. I just wish the toxicity in the Star Wars fanbase will stop. It’s awful.

Where should Lucasfilm go after Episode IX?
Time

Hal 9000 said:

Honestly, I would prefer they lay off the Skywalker saga for a long while. Perhaps they could pick it up again someday, with something like a 100 year timegap.

I love your suggestion, Hal! I have said that Lucasfilm should take at least a good five year break after Episode IX before making new movies. Star Wars is such a special franchise, that I believe should not be worn out by having so many films come out so close to each other. Maybe in ten to twenty years, we could get Episodes X, XI and XII. I actually think that a fourth trilogy could focus on Rey, Ben and their kids. That’s just my thoughts. I am a really big fan of your edits, Hal!

Is there anyone here who thinks that Rey and Kylo Ren will have a romantic relationship? I used to dismiss this story direction after The Force Awakens came out, but The Last Jedi actually won me over to being a fan of the direction. To me, I think this makes so much sense. Just ignore the majority of content online called, “Reylo.”

I understand. I know that others don’t see what I mean. I just think that if you look past all the fluff and garbage that the “Reylo” fans make this story pathway out to be, there is actually something very impactful and powerful found within their story.

If you type “Reylo” on YouTube, unfortunately, most of the videos are by these fangirls and shippers. This is a perfect reason why they are making this particular story direction look like garbage. Skip to 7:20 in this video.

Rey & Kylo Ren's Relationship...
Time

Unfortunately, I feel that the “Reylo” fans, such as fangirls who draw fan art of the two characters seen in the video are making this story direction look like garbage. That is one of the reasons why I think some of the most popular Star Wars fans out there, who are not toxic, do not mention it, because they see it as a fangirl shipping dream of theirs. Not to sound like a bully, but I even dismissed the two having a romantic relationship after first viewing The Force Awakens when discovering this content. I began looking into the detailed theories a year later and got convinced that this could be a possible outcome. I was shocked to see that they really moving in this direction in The Last Jedi, and ended up growing to love this story direction, especially with how similar both Rey and Ben are to each other. Even after The Last Jedi has been released, there are still people out there who still blindly didn’t see any sexual tension occurring between the two in the movie.

Star Wars: Resistance (animated series) - a general discussion thread
Time

I haven’t seen the show, but I am also not planning on watching it anytime soon. I’m very mixed on Dave Filoni’s Star Wars content. Clone Wars was VERY hit and miss for me, and Rebels was good, but it could’ve been a LOT better. I’m a bit surprised that he’s not front-running the show. He’s most likely working on the final season of Clone Wars and helping Jon Favreau Here’s what I have to say about the show based on what I’ve seen in the trailer.

I actually don’t like the animation. To me, it looks very cheap. It looks like the type of animation used in the early 2000’s or late 90’s for animated shows that were made intentionally to sell toys to kids. Very much like Max Steel and one of the G.I. Joe shows for kids.

I think the trailer was put together very poorly. The tone shifts around too much. It begins dramatically, then action orientated, then light hearted, along with awkward unfunny pauses mixed in. The shot of the main character hit in the face by the droid, resulting in a ridiculous look on his face was just embarrassing to me to see in Star Wars. I also think the characters seem very annoying, especially the main character. While it’s cool they were able to get Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie to reprise their roles as Poe and Phasma in the show, it’s not enough to make me watch the show. The show may be intended for kids, but why are new episodes airing on Disney Channel at 10:00 PM on Sundays? Most young kids would be in bed getting ready for school at that point. The airing time sounds makes the show seem as if it’s geared towards old-school hardcore fans.

So far, I’ve heard decent things about the show, but I don’t plan on watching it. I didn’t mean to sound negative if I did, I’m just sharing my thoughts on what I’ve seen for the promotions for Resistance.

It was briefly suggested in the video that inspired that thread. I recommend reposting those links there to keep things all in one place. It’d be nice if you could make a few more too. It’s an idea that has potential.

I don’t understand what you meant about that. I also did not make the videos that I posted in the thread. I may be able to make some more in December.

This is a pretty good video on just that topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-qi4OhCii4

You know, back in the pre-TLJ days I thought Reylo was idiotic but TLJ goes to great lengths to set it up. Finn, who I believed would end up with Rey by the end, is now with Rose and Poe’s got BB8.

While it might be a cliché, it is an interesting and a new place of the franchise to go. If they do it right, it could help Ep 9. But doing it right would be very hard to pull off, and they might see the entire saga fall apart if they fail. Something to keep in the back of our minds, I guess.

This is a great video that explains why, but I really don’t like the title of the video. I thought the best videos the showcase this were the three-part theory video series by the now defunct YouTuber, Vincent Vendetta.

I never saw Rey and Finn as a possible couple in The Force Awakens. I just saw them as friends. I didn’t hate that he ended up with Rose, though. I have faith that J.J. Abrams will wrap things nicely. I actually think that if the two survive in the end, with Ben being redeemed, it could help set up a possible fourth trilogy focused on their kids if Disney and Lucasfilm ever think about making another trilogy.

^ at about 20 seconds into that video , I felt like shipping my pants
