I say that they should reveal the sequels and anything else Disney to be a nightmare Luke had after ROTJ

I love the sequel trilogy. Why is there so much hate for it!? Did everyone forget about the prequels!?

Please get off Ryan’s cock. TLJ sucks ass!! At least the prequels had some watchability

Be nice, or be dog food.

Thank you very much for standing up for me, but I think it is best that you do not give any toxic bullies in the fanbase any notification and recognition by not responding to them. You are just giving them justification by doing so. I just wish the toxicity in the Star Wars fanbase will stop. It’s awful.

Where should Lucasfilm go after Episode IX?

Honestly, I would prefer they lay off the Skywalker saga for a long while. Perhaps they could pick it up again someday, with something like a 100 year timegap.

I love your suggestion, Hal! I have said that Lucasfilm should take at least a good five year break after Episode IX before making new movies. Star Wars is such a special franchise, that I believe should not be worn out by having so many films come out so close to each other. Maybe in ten to twenty years, we could get Episodes X, XI and XII. I actually think that a fourth trilogy could focus on Rey, Ben and their kids. That’s just my thoughts. I am a really big fan of your edits, Hal!

Is there anyone here who thinks that Rey and Kylo Ren will have a romantic relationship? I used to dismiss this story direction after The Force Awakens came out, but The Last Jedi actually won me over to being a fan of the direction. To me, I think this makes so much sense. Just ignore the majority of content online called, “Reylo.”

Star Wars Video Games - a general discussion thread

What did everyone here think of the game adaptation of Revenge of the Sith? I personally wasn’t a fan of the PS2/Xbox version. I thought it was very repetitive in its gameplay, and I felt that it didn’t offer a whole lot to come back playing. The adaptation of the movie has many deviations. Some of the deviations are cool, and some of them were weird. Especially that Padmé doesn’t make a single appearance in the whole game! I actually got a bit of a kick out of the GBA/DS version, though. What did you all think of this game adaptation?

I understand. I know that others don’t see what I mean. I just think that if you look past all the fluff and garbage that the “Reylo” fans make this story pathway out to be, there is actually something very impactful and powerful found within their story.

If you type “Reylo” on YouTube, unfortunately, most of the videos are by these fangirls and shippers. This is a perfect reason why they are making this particular story direction look like garbage. Skip to 7:20 in this video.

Unfortunately, I feel that the “Reylo” fans, such as fangirls who draw fan art of the two characters seen in the video are making this story direction look like garbage. That is one of the reasons why I think some of the most popular Star Wars fans out there, who are not toxic, do not mention it, because they see it as a fangirl shipping dream of theirs. Not to sound like a bully, but I even dismissed the two having a romantic relationship after first viewing The Force Awakens when discovering this content. I began looking into the detailed theories a year later and got convinced that this could be a possible outcome. I was shocked to see that they really moving in this direction in The Last Jedi, and ended up growing to love this story direction, especially with how similar both Rey and Ben are to each other. Even after The Last Jedi has been released, there are still people out there who still blindly didn’t see any sexual tension occurring between the two in the movie.

Star Wars: Resistance (animated series) - a general discussion thread
Time

I haven’t seen the show, but I am also not planning on watching it anytime soon. I’m very mixed on Dave Filoni’s Star Wars content. Clone Wars was VERY hit and miss for me, and Rebels was good, but it could’ve been a LOT better. I’m a bit surprised that he’s not front-running the show. He’s most likely working on the final season of Clone Wars and helping Jon Favreau Here’s what I have to say about the show based on what I’ve seen in the trailer.

I actually don’t like the animation. To me, it looks very cheap. It looks like the type of animation used in the early 2000’s or late 90’s for animated shows that were made intentionally to sell toys to kids. Very much like Max Steel and one of the G.I. Joe shows for kids.

I think the trailer was put together very poorly. The tone shifts around too much. It begins dramatically, then action orientated, then light hearted, along with awkward unfunny pauses mixed in. The shot of the main character hit in the face by the droid, resulting in a ridiculous look on his face was just embarrassing to me to see in Star Wars. I also think the characters seem very annoying, especially the main character. While it’s cool they were able to get Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie to reprise their roles as Poe and Phasma in the show, it’s not enough to make me watch the show. The show may be intended for kids, but why are new episodes airing on Disney Channel at 10:00 PM on Sundays? Most young kids would be in bed getting ready for school at that point. The airing time sounds makes the show seem as if it’s geared towards old-school hardcore fans.

So far, I’ve heard decent things about the show, but I don’t plan on watching it. I didn’t mean to sound negative if I did, I’m just sharing my thoughts on what I’ve seen for the promotions for Resistance.

It was briefly suggested in the video that inspired that thread. I recommend reposting those links there to keep things all in one place. It’d be nice if you could make a few more too. It’s an idea that has potential.

I don’t understand what you meant about that. I also did not make the videos that I posted in the thread. I may be able to make some more in December.

You know, back in the pre-TLJ days I thought Reylo was idiotic but TLJ goes to great lengths to set it up. Finn, who I believed would end up with Rey by the end, is now with Rose and Poe’s got BB8.

While it might be a cliché, it is an interesting and a new place of the franchise to go. If they do it right, it could help Ep 9. But doing it right would be very hard to pull off, and they might see the entire saga fall apart if they fail. Something to keep in the back of our minds, I guess.

This is a great video that explains why, but I really don’t like the title of the video. I thought the best videos the showcase this were the three-part theory video series by the now defunct YouTuber, Vincent Vendetta.

I never saw Rey and Finn as a possible couple in The Force Awakens. I just saw them as friends. I didn’t hate that he ended up with Rose, though. I have faith that J.J. Abrams will wrap things nicely. I actually think that if the two survive in the end, with Ben being redeemed, it could help set up a possible fourth trilogy focused on their kids if Disney and Lucasfilm ever think about making another trilogy.

"I don’t believe modern Star Wars films are descending into these types of gossip. I believe that the ones who are responsible for creating terms such as “Reylo” are fans and shippers (not to sound critical towards these fans). “…SOME of these fans are the ones I was talking about and not the films themselves . Also , Rey may have been told one thing during the production of TLJ but it would not be the first time a plot point was hidden from the cast , they told everyone except Mark Hamill that the famous line was " Obi-Wan killed your father !” . I do not believe they will turn out to be siblings , nor do I believe they are going to be romantically involved , but I could be wrong . To state that anything is Empiracal fact is just speculation . You yourself said that things you thought were one way , turned out to be another .That happened a lot in the Original trilogy as well …back in 1977 , I was SURE Luke and Leia would end up together and the comics even ran with that idea , sometimes even after Empire was out .Anything can happen going forward .lastly , and just a pet peeve that my slightly ocd self gloamed in on is the term " shippers " another one I wish would die . I have been on the planet 47 years and have only heard it used in the past few years . That , and “hot take” which is something that I reserve for after a high fiber meal .Good points you bring up though, and as the Dude says , it’s just like , our collective opinions man ".

You are right, all film is subjective. I feel that the reason why Luke and Leia ended up as siblings and did not become a couple was due to George Lucas’ decisions back then. There is a great book called, “How Star Wars Conquered the Universe,” which describes the behind the scenes involvement that was occurring throughout the franchise’s history. At the time, George was still not to sure whether he wanted them to be a couple, or as siblings. These thoughts must have occurred in George’s head when making The Empire Strikes Back. They had hinted at Leia being Luke’s sister by having Yoda referring to another, and her sensing Luke on Cloud City, despite Leia giving Luke a couple-like kiss in front of Han on Hoth.

No, Leia was definitely not Luke’s sister circa TESB. There are deleted scenes that illustrate this in spades - as well as the Marvel adaptation of the film. It was a love triangle, pure and simple.

Nor was ‘the other’ referring to Leia at the time. Leia was a prisoner on Cloud City when Yoda made the claim. He had even just encouraged Luke to ‘sacrifice Han and Leia’ for the greater good (after Obi Wan admitted that “even Yoda cannot see their fate”).

As for ‘Reylo’, I actually really like the way their bond is depicted in TLJ, even if the overall writing is suspect. I love how Kylo almost begs her to join him. It’s a great character moment for him that is disappointingly dashed when he reverts to his old temper-tantrum throwing self whilst engaging Luke and the rebels on Soth (salt-Hoth).

You are right about one thing. The late Gary Kurtz admitted after walking away from Star Wars after The Empire Strikes Back that Leia was not going to be Luke’s sister, and he had a sister on the other side of the Galaxy.

that’s the thing though , Disney has stated that this will be the final episodic Star wars installment , There is going to be a new trilogy by Rian Johnson ,which has stalled , that has nothing to do with the Skywalker saga . I think they have to wrap up plot points with episode 9 . I may be wrong though , I suppose they could change their minds .

They could change their minds. We all thought that Star Wars was done after Return of the Jedi, but we got more. We all thought we were no longer receiving any more movies after Revenge of the Sith, but we were wrong. Episodes X, XI, and XII are possible to happen in the future.

^ yup , George Lucas contradicted himself a lot back then , but he also had the final word on plot points , which is a big reason Gary Kurtz walked away . Now , the story is a relay race in the hands of multiple directors and the Lucasfilm story group . another great book to read for info on the films are the making of books by Rinzler , The Making Of The Empire Strikes backs has parts of the early script by Leigh Brackett where Luke’s father ( not Vader ) comes to Dagobah and has Luke take the Jedi oath with Yoda and Ben watching .

Rest in peace, both Gary Kurtz and Leigh Brackett.

at this point I have no idea where the sequel trilogy is going and will reserve judgement until it is complete .I think their bond may be something other than romantic though , just touching hands could be a sign of empathy or familial connection . I wish that naming convention would die though “Reylo” “Jaylo” “Jaylaw” etc . It reeks of Hollywood gossip columns which, oddly enough ,modern Star Wars seems to be descending into .I have enjoyed the sequel trilogy myself however, and welcome to the forums . I imagine you will understand what I mean in the near future.

I don’t believe modern Star Wars films are descending into these types of gossip. I believe that the ones who are responsible for creating terms such as “Reylo” are fans and shippers (not to sound critical towards these fans).

You are correct about our views once the trilogy is complete, we will be able to see the full story, and I do understand what you mean. However, I do not believe that Rey and Ben are related. I think that anyone hoping that Rey is related to a familiar character in Star Wars such as Luke, Han, Leia, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon or Palpatine will unfortunately be dissapointed. I don’t mean to go off topic for a bit, but Rey’s parentage arc is finished. Her parents were nobody, and Daisy Ridley even confirmed that she was told this when she was first cast as Rey. I like that her parents are two anonymous people, as I feel it gives Rey’s story more of an emotional impact to her involvement with the characters we all know. This makes it very impactful when Ben tells her that he doesn’t consider her as nothing. I think that the story and character relations that were carried from VII to VIII were done incredibly well, especially with Rey’s view on Kylo Ren, going from hating him due to killing Han, to feeling sorry for him because of his troubling childhood and past with his family. This doesn’t necessarily make Luke, Han and Leia bad people, but it shows that they have also struggled going from galactic heroes to parents/guardians. Sorry if I may have went off topic in a couple spots here.
