Rey & Kylo Ren's Relationship...

Maybe it feels a little asexual for guys, but I know plenty of girls who are getting a lot out of Rey and Kylo Ren! Haha.

Most of those fangirls who love “Reylo” apparently were not huge fans of the original trilogy prior to viewing The Force Awakens for the first time. Not being biased or anything, but it does say something about why many fans are turned off from a Kylo Ren and Rey romance in the sequel trilogy.

Wish there was a way to do a poll on this site.

Do we think that’s:
A. Jakku
B. Tatooine
C. Jedha
D. Some new desert planet

Most likely it’s Jakku, but it could possibly be Tatooine. I don’t know how Tatooine could make its way into the sequel trilogy, though. What country was this wrap up picture taken? Tatooine was shot in Tunisia, Jakku was filmed in Abu Dhabi.

Jordan, which is why one of the options is Jedha.

Were the scenes on Jedha in Rogue One shot in Jordan?

Yes, in Wadi Rum, which I believe is the same place IX shot.

It would probably make since to go to Jedha. It’s a planet that is known for its history with the Jedi, and Rey is possibly going there to learn more about their history, or something. It seems like the final scene that was filmed involved something between Rey, Finn, and Poe. Is it possible that reshoots have been scheduled?

It’s a theory I’ve heard often (even literally my mom said this was her theory after she saw TLJ) and while I don’t have anything against it, personally I’d be surprised if it happens in an explicit “Rey and Ben are a romantic pair and will live happily ever after” way.

I doubt it will happen. Other than that scene where Rey and Kylo touch hands, the rest of the sequel trilogy seems weirdly asexual to me, at least in the traditional sense. Like it’s something that purposely being tiptoed around.

Rose kissing Finn was asexual?

Rey & Kylo Ren's Relationship...
Time

RogueLeader said:

Yeah, arguably one of the biggest themes of the entire saga is redemption. And I think with redemption also comes to question of forgiveness.

Both Darth Vader and Kylo Ren have done terrible things, but I think a big part of Vader’s atonement was his son forgiving him for what he did. Leia struggled with ever being able to forgive her father for what he did, and now she is ironically having to come to terms with that in the form of her own son.

I think an optimistic theme of these films is that it should never be too late for someone to do the right thing. To turn back. Obviously the question of forgiveness has been debated for ages by politicians, philosophers and religious leaders. But I think for Star Wars, it definitely does take the route of even the most evil people are capable of being forgiven for their sins.

And regardless of your own opinions regarding forgiveness, we have to acknowledge that the evil acts committed by those who are later redeemed in these films are sort of exagerrated for drama. Darth Vader murdered countless people, even children, but this is a fairy tale, so we shouldn’t equate his atonement to that of a mass murderer in real life. These horrible acts within the story are meant to be analogous to the common mistakes people make in everyday lives.

I don’t know exactly how they will portray Ben’s redemption, but I definitely see it happening, and I think Rey will play a part of it. It was romantic love in the prequels that tore the galaxy apart. And I think it will be romantic love that puts the galaxy back together.

“You know it’s like poetry. They rhyme.”

I’m not that against the idea. I just don’t think it’s marketable to put the main hero in a relationship with the villain that killed Han Solo and was the primary antagonist of the previous 2 films. It’s not impossible, but there has to be a good reason to go in that direction, and it would piss off a lot of people.

Luke still forgave his father for the past twenty years of disaster and chaos he committed. Even Padmé forgave her husband for what he had done before she died. I believe that Ben regrets killing his father. The audience is supposed to view him in the same way Rey does. Feel more sympathy with him and hope that he will return from the Dark Side.

A Reylo type relationship required Kylo to be less evil in TFA and for Rey to join Kylo in TLJ. It’s infeasible to squeeze it into IX at this point with how the previous 2 films have been.

It can still be included. The Force Awakens gave a subtle beginning, and The Last Jedi was much more clear in the representation of their relationship. It’s actually quite impressive how Lucasfilm was able to do so much with their relationship with such little time in Episode VIII. Plus, the film left off with an open ending as to whether Ben will remain on the Dark Side, or return to the Light.

Looney Tunes: Back in Action - A.C.M.E. Edition (V1 Released)
Time

Looney Tunes: Back in Action is a film that fans of Looney Tunes felt a bit mixed on. It was a box office bomb and Warner Bros had made production difficult for Joe Dante and the rest of the crew. This is an edit made by me in an effort to help the film improve in terms of comedy, and to be be both an homage and satire of what made Looney Tunes so memorable, iconic and funny. Sources from other Looney Tunes properties were also used at various points in this edit.

Spider-Man 3: Symbiote Edition (V3 WIP) (VFX NEEDED)
Time

This project fixes Spider-Man 3 into a more focused film that closes out Sam Raimi’s trilogy, while continuing the storylines that left off from its predecessors.

While I don’t dislike Spider-Man 3, it certainly is not all that great and is a real mess in terms of its story and plot. It feels too unfocused and there are too many subplots that are either unnecessary, or gets in the way.

Sandman is completely removed, as his character doesn’t serve a purpose in this film, and the purpose he did serve retcons the first film in being Ben Parker’s killer. Peter’s nightmare as the symbiote attaches itself to him is now focused on his fear of losing MJ and Harry still following in his father’s footsteps.

Harry’s memory loss has been slightly altered to the point where he doesn’t remember his fight with Peter at night, yet still knows about his friend being Spider-Man and the outcome of his father. His feelings towards Peter start to brighten in a sense where he decides to trust him on his word, only for the spirit of the Goblin to motivate him again.
This alone adds conflict in Harry’s character, mirroring Peter’s in the film. Peter still thinks he doesn’t know anything regarding Spider-Man and the Green Goblin.

Eddie Brock and Gwen Stacy are no longer a couple, as Eddie instead tries to hit on her, only for her to be stolen from Peter later on. The majority of humor involving Emo Peter have been removed to come across as being serious.

You can send me a private message to receive the link to this edit.

I am currently planning on updating this project to V3, however I need help in VFX for the shot of Venom grabbing Peter, by adding MJ in the background to retain continuity since Sandman is gone. Also, if it’s double, maybe someone talented with deepfakes could fix some of the digital close-up shots of CG doubles of the actors like Tobey Maguire.

Rey & Kylo Ren's Relationship...

Here is a video by the now defunct YouTuber, Vincent Vendetta. He has posted Star Wars theory videos. This is a truncated version that I edited down from his Reylo theory videos that he posted back in 2017, before The Last Jedi came out. Check it out, it’s worth it.

Apparently he ditches it halfway through.

There’s no way Ben would go back to wearing a mask. The way he destroyed it in The Last Jedi perfectly shows how he is ditching the Darth Vader impersonator he’s been acting like and becoming his own force.

I also think it’s interesting that Lando is wearing the same yellow shirt he wore in Solo.

I don’t see anything wrong with someone disliking the Sequels, or any of the Star Wars films, as long as they’re respectful about it. These disagreements cause a lot of good debates and can inspire people to try to create fixes for perceived problems. There are plenty of people here that like the Prequels, and those that don’t. There’s no reason why it should be any different for the Disney films.

I totally agree with you. It all comes down to approach, behavior, and attitude. We all have our likes and dislikes.

Does anyone thinks that Episode IX could bring the fan base back together, or will it still just make many mad? It makes me annoyed how critical and harsh people can be.

It will be impossible for it not to make a significant portion of the fan base mad. Which portion? We will have to wait and see.

It’s almost as if the prequels cemented a good chunk of the fan base into a negative hateful state ever since. It’s best to be known for what you love, not for what you hate. Being known for what you hate paints yourself in a unappealing way that turn others off from your thoughts and opinions. The point is, always stay positive and hopeful for good things to come in the near future.

Maybe it will intentionally divisive so that nobody ever stops talking about it.

Lucasfilm never does anything intentionally to hurt the fan base. They always aim to please them, as do any big film studio making movies for audiences. Anyone who doesn’t like Episode IX will either honestly not like the film, has a bias against the Disney era of Star Wars, or is a troll giving negative reviews to the movie before it has even come out and they have not seen it yet. As someone who loves Star Wars, including the original and sequel trilogies, I cannot wait for Episode IX. All I can say is, if you don’t want to be disappointed, go in with a fresh mind seeing this as the next installment of the Star Wars saga. Leave all your expectations and predictions at the door, and view it as a continuation of the sage you have seen up until now. I went in with the mindset for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and I loved both movies as part of the Star Wars saga.

Anthony Daniels tweeted this out earlier today,

which means we’re definitely getting some big piece of news this week, even if it’s not the title.

Revenge Of The Droids 😉

I did find it appropriate that they had Tony tweet that out.

Hasn’t it long been assumed that the saga would end with the droids giving their “journal” to the Whills?

George Lucas did say at one point that the only characters that will live throughout the saga would be C-3PO and R2-D2. I really like that, and I believe that Lucasfilm will fulfill that. I believe they will also do the same for the Millennium Falcon by passing it to new generations of characters.
