I did make a video for my channel about unreleased deleted scenes that I could find.
I did make a video for my channel about unreleased deleted scenes that I could find.
Not to piss you off or anything, Hal, but if deleted scenes for this movie come out in the next year or two, will you come out of retirement just to do a V3 to incorporate them? I know you’ve said yes, but I also know you want this all done and over with to put it behind you.
Have you considered using some of the trailer shot extensions that DominicCobb used in his edit, Hal? Other than extending the desert encounter with Rey and Kylo Ren in his TIE fighter.
Someone did mention to make the rainy location with Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren in Rey’s Force vision look like Exegol. Just color correct it from cold blue to grey and add the red cracks to his mask. It could work, but the question still remains, who were they even killing in that vision? Thieves, I think.
I’m okay with what’s here, and don’t want to remain on the hook for TFA or TLJ. I don’t really even want TROS to be able to lean back and take too much of a piss on them, either. I’m happy with how the fan edits turned out and wish anyone sincere luck who’d like to alter them further.
I know, but when fixing the trilogy, you would hope there to be continuity with these edits, but because they are yours, you can change whatever you’d like about them.
I know this has probably been decided now, but I think adding that shot someone made of the TIE fighters circling around Vader’s castle to the shot of them flying over the woods would be fantastic to add in.
Hadn’t thought of that, but I agree that it need not pose a problem.
Also, V5 is mostly a glitch-fix. And mostly in the interest of finding something to change, I borrowed from NeverAr to remove the holochess cameo. Otherwise it’s the same as V4. The impetus was the video glitches; I didn’t want to leave things that way.
So the only change made was the holochess removal? Okay, was expecting a bit more to tie in better with IX.
It came really close, but TM2YC’s edit of Blade Runner won Favorite FanEdit of the Month.
I’d say TM2YC as an individual is more deserving of that distinction for that project than I with mine. In other words, if TROS:A were to have won it’d have been because of you all.
My June 10th viewing of Blade Runner will be pretty neat, though!
I can understand that, but the level of VFX work done by some of the people here is so good that it blew mew away with the kind of work you can accomplish on a fan edit.
Is there a way for us to know what’s new to the change list, Hal?

All right, that sound reasonable.
Question though: will you continue to use music from the older movie / game in the future books, or stick with the newer music tracks?
I’ll stick with the music tracks for each appropriate book while also reusing some of Jeremy Soule’s work.
You could do updated commentaries if you’d like, Hal.
Haha! Good one! I can understand your reasonings, but it can honestly be fun. I’ve been wanting to record commentaries for my own edits too, but I don’t know how to add separate audio tracks to one video file.

Somebody had made a “Fan Soundtrack” for Hogwarts Legacy. Two tracks so far, but they might make more.
Check it out, and maybe you can ask permition to use these, if you like them?
It sounds great, but I’m fine with sticking with the film and game music, and by game music, I’m talking about the scores to the tie-in games that was released with each movie.
Fantastic idea, I would love to hear this experience!
Did you also use the music from the John Williams collection from two years ago?
The Complete Recordings and Recording Sessions from the rest of the movies are also great.I’d suggest the OST from Hogwarts Mystery and the trailer music form the movies.
Maybe there are some jewels in there, or cues for certain scenes.Other source music from the movies:
- Dick Walters - Hot Liquorice
- Jungle Jazz Room - Steve Gray

The game OST for 5 and 6 were rereleased last year with better quality under the name ‘EA Music Composer Series: James Hannigan Vol. 1-2 Soundtrack’
Interesting. I’ll have to take a look. I don’t really plan on using trailer music since it is composed for usually a montage, which trailers can be. I don’t know if it would go well, even though the trailer music for Deathly Hallows was brilliant. If you’re interested in the audiobooks, I can shoot you a PM.
By the way, do you think you could do the Jim Dale (US) versions sometime in the future, too?
I personally prefer Stephen Fry’s versions, there are a lot of fans of Jim Dale, too.
I think Jim Dale is great too, but I never really intended on doing versions for him as well. There is a group that’s done those kind of projects on the U.S. versions. I think they were called Leaky Cauldron Audiobooks, or something like that.
Happy New Year!
Loved listening to these so far, and I’m looking forward to the series continuing 😃
Thanks, Drew!
Is there even enough footage of Shaw? What other movies has he really been in, I think he’s more of a theatre actor like Ian McDiarmid.
Sham00k is asking for deepfake requests. Maybe ask him?
Wow! If people are okay with providing deepfakes for fan edits, that would be quite amazing. Like what he did in fixing Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One.
Did you not see his Luke Skywalker one recently? I did a video breakdown review as it was so impressive.
I did, and I saw your video too. The mouth movement could need a bit more work, but let’s not go off topic from Hal’s thread.

These are really awesome. They add a whole new dimension to the audiobooks. Really great work!
Thanks, JJ!
Like how someone said on your edit of The Force Awakens where the music when the First Order arrives on Takodana is loud, the final piece of music when Rey looks out at the Ghosts is too quiet.
Y’know, back in the day it had to have been through LimeWire. I must’ve heard about it online somewhere.
Interesting. Merry Christmas, by the way! Or should I say Happy Life Day?
Hi nl0428,
Are you still releasing your audiobook edit of Goblet of Fire soon ?
Yes, I have the first 22 chapters done. I’m busy with other projects, but believe me that it will be done. Along with the rest of the series.
How did you come across The Phantom Edit online, Hal? I know you discussed a bit about your introduction in your commentary, but I’m just interested.
