BEAUTIFUL WOMEN NEW RULES IN FIRST POST (NSFW) UPDATED RULES
Time

This thread is called "Beautiful Women" not "Sexy Pieces of Ass I Wanna Tap".

It could be about beautiful animals or flowers or clothes or anything! It’s people sharing their opinions on what they find attractive. Honesty, have you been around the Internet, YHWX? The fact that everybody here just posts a picture and pays a compliment in a respectful way says a lot about the general character of the people we have here.

There’s far worse places on the net (which you can easily find) to start asserting yourself against what you think you’re seeing here.

People like things that they find attractive. You like things that you find attractive too. It’s perfectly okay for you to not advertise or share your tastes regarding other human beings but it’s very rude and, dare I say, self-righteous, to repeat a contrary opinion that wasn’t asked for in this thread over and over.

There is no difference between a thread where we express a preference for a movie and a thread where we express a preference for a lady. There just isn’t!

I like you, YHWX, you have a good sense of humour and you’re clearly intelligent. I hope you stick around on this site, because heaven knows we need people like you here, but I wish you’d use a bit more tact sometimes.

All said with a happy face though, it just doesn’t sit well with me when I see people picking the wrong fight 😃

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Somebody, sometime, on a thread somewhere on this site was using something to run two versions of the movies and this thing, whatever it was, pointed out visual differences between them. It showed up as different colours and it looked quite odd.

I remember that the changes to the roofs were pointed out there, along with a few other tiny alterations - an explosion or something had been tinkered with.

I really don’t remember this very well but I swear I didn’t dream this…

The Raven (2011)

A period serial-killer thriller with Edgar Allen Poe as the hero? Why not! And it kind of works too. It’s chock full of historical that-didn’t-happens but I’m sure Poe would’ve approved of his life being used to make such a nasty, dark work of fiction.

John Cusack is brilliant as Poe and so is Luke Evans as the obligatory “policeman who really, really wants to catch the bad guy”. Alice Eve is enchanting as ever but is little more than a damsel in distress. Brendan Gleeson is in it too, playing the exact same character he always does, but he’s as good as ever so it doesn’t matter.

These sort of films are ten-a-penny in modern (American) cinema but it was a neat twist to see things moved back a century and a half. It’s a worthwhile watch if you’re in the mood for this sort of thing.

I give it 3 pendulums out of 5.

If you could make your own se change, what would that be?
Time

A sensible answer?

I’d like all the compositing done cleanly - no garbage mattes or black lines or transparent objects. I know there’s many who are sentimental about them (especially on this site!) but it’s something that always draws attention to itself for me. It certainly wasn’t ever intended to be that way so I’d be happy to make that change.

What a rare event…

I drove twelve miles home tonight and didn’t encounter one bad driver. No speedsters, no tailgaters, nobody on the phone/smoking/eating/drinking/doing their makeup, nobody parked where they shouldn’t be, nobody failing to indicate.

Everybody I saw was just being super awesome behind the wheel. Well done, people of the place where I live.

Improving the Diversity of This Forum
Time

I would like to:

  • Discuss ways to increase the diversity of the Original Trilogy forums, and not just with gender
  • Discuss the issue in general

It sounds like you feel there’s a real lack of diversity here. Where does this feeling come from? Why do you believe this diversity deficit (which, if it exists, has occurred naturally) needs artificially altering? What ideas do you have for solving this “issue” as you describe it?
