The "Name that Movie/TV Show I Can't Name" Thread
Time

Mark’s Down On Your Syntax said:

My friend and I watched a movie sometime around 1992/3 and I remember the cover had a boy on his bike (which we decided was a good enough reason to rent it). The plot was about the kid being transported to a dream-like world that was made up of (it seemed like) bits of other movies. The villain was trying to steal the colour from the world, or something.

I’m reasonably sure the title was the boy’s name followed by adventure, or excellent adventure, or amazing adventure.

This has been niggling at me for a VERY long time. Any ideas?

EDIT: The villain also sang a song about stealing the colour!

I’VE FOUND IT!!!

Known variously as, “Andy Colby’s Incredibly Awesome Adventure”,“Andy Colby’s Incredible Adventure” or (somewhat unexpectedly) “Andy and the Airwave Rangers”. It was released in 1988, was produced by Roger Corman and stars nobody you’ve ever heard of. Wonderfully, the film’s poster on the Wikipedia page has somebody riding a bike - just like I remembered!

The trailer is a masterpiece of awful.

That’s 25 years of weight off my shoulders but the question now is, dare I watch it again?!

The Kenobi <s>Movie</s> Show (Spoilers)
Time

But… but… there’s been no official announcement, right?

Everybody online is talking about this like it’s official but nobody involved has said anything. The Hollywood Reporter’s “sources say” it’s true in their exclusive story and everyone else starts treating it as gospel. One spinoff article’s headline actually began,“It’s official…” but just repeated everything from the original story.

And then others took the brief mention of Yoda and Boba Fett standalones from that article and made new headlines from that. And apparently now we’re getting a Jabba movie too.

The guys and gals on Collider Jedi Council spent the whole of last week’s episode talking like it was an official announcement but nobody involved in making the movies has announced anything at all.

I really do feel like I’ve missed out on something here. The Hollywood Reporter is as capable of misinforming as much as the next news outlet. Is there information out there about this that everybody except me knows?

The 'next Movie you have seen' thread...
Time

I enjoyed watching all the Halloween movies over the course of a week so I’ve decided to do another series.

My other half wants to watch the Saws (which I’ve never seen) but I’d quite like to rewatch the Nightmare on Elm Streets or the Police Academys (some I’ve never watched and neither of which I’ve seen this century!)

I can’t decide and I don’t have time to watch them ALL…

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

Certain rude dudes making new threads asking questions which are suitable to be asked in pre-existing threads who when politely redirected to those threads instead choose to create yet more new threads asking identical questions whilst apparently still oblivious to the existence of that appropriate and still pre-existing thread are going on my naughty list.

It’s a lump of coal for you next Christmas morning, young man. Ho. Ho. Ho.

Don’t try to make small talk with them. Instead, have some fun messing with them.

Go and stand nearby and make it look as if you’re observing them, when they look your way pretend to write something down and then go back to observing them again. After a while make a phone call and as you walk past say something like, “Pretty unremarkable bunch of people, they really could all stand to be redistributed…” or something along those lines.

This is a good activity if you’re a sociopath, if you’re not, I dunno, maybe find the ugliest of them and offer to buy them a drink?
