Just watched a recap review of the panel and came here to hype about the remastered edition! Great things come to those who wait. 😛

Me too!

I was over the moon when we got Mask of the Phantasm in the summer but now this? Unbelievably good news but can I be really greedy and hope for some new commentaries and documentaries as well?!

If you need to B*tch about something other than originaltrilogy.com... This is the place

My house is next to field and the farmer has recently sprayed that liquid manure stuff all around. This has been of great interest to the local fly population and today I discovered they’ve moved themselves into the air vents above my windows to enjoy this festival of shite. Every window I opened today produced a downpour of them and we’re not talking one or two or a dozen - I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s swarms of them.

It’s freakin’ Amityville Horror levels of flies in here. No demons yet though, so I suppose that’s something to be grateful for.

I want to buy Predator on blu ray but I’m confused. There’s three versions I can see: Predator - standard release, Predator - ultimate hunters edition, and Predator 3D. Apparently two of the releases suffer from superwaxy dnr and one doesn’t but since Amazon combine all their reviews it’s not easy to figure out which is the unwaxy one.

Could anybody here help me figure this out? Is there even a decent quality release or are they all ugly mothers?

Listen to that well-dressed Porg up there, he’s talking sense. Discovery is designed to be one long arc which is a different to most* of the other series story structures. It stands to reason that the characters will develop as things progress doesn’t it? If everyone was fully formed by the end of the pilot and the rest of the series was them just getting into adventures it would be a bit dull (and Voyager kind of already took that approach.)

*yes, I know what Enterprise did in its third season.

Deep Space Nine got hate because 1) it was a Babylon 5 ripoff…

Those haters were almost certainly time travellers as Babylon 5 premiered a month after DS9!

And for what my opinion’s worth around here, I just finished watching both parts of Discovery and I loved it. Great characters, from the ginger chick at the helm to Admiral Uck-Is-That to the different shades of Klingons everyone was interesting. Gorgeous visuals and subtle music and nice use of flashbacks. I didn’t like the hologram communications - when used by the Klingons, yes, fine, but not by Starfleet (they tried it once before in DS9 and it didn’t fit very well there either. I can’t wait to see where this is all going and judging by the preview at the end we’ve barely seen anything.

Best line?.. “Filthy Andorians”!!!
