I’m very excited about this project, so many great ideas. Best of luck to you!

TCW was broadcast 16:9.
You’re in the U.S. right, Dom? That’s interesting, as I watched it in 2.35 when it was broadcast on Sky in the U.K. I remember the aspect ratio as it was the first thing I noticed!
I wonder which other parts of the world got differing aspect ratios?
Might’ve mentioned but can’t search for own posts, maybe I can on this weirdly coded forum…
Click on your user name!!
How about a thread where we make predictions for the future? Might be fun (she says, sheepishly.)
Just watched a recap review of the panel and came here to hype about the remastered edition! Great things come to those who wait. 😛
Me too!
I was over the moon when we got Mask of the Phantasm in the summer but now this? Unbelievably good news but can I be really greedy and hope for some new commentaries and documentaries as well?!
My house is next to field and the farmer has recently sprayed that liquid manure stuff all around. This has been of great interest to the local fly population and today I discovered they’ve moved themselves into the air vents above my windows to enjoy this festival of shite. Every window I opened today produced a downpour of them and we’re not talking one or two or a dozen - I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s swarms of them.
It’s freakin’ Amityville Horror levels of flies in here. No demons yet though, so I suppose that’s something to be grateful for.
I’m reading “Leia - Princess of Alderaan”. Halfway through and it’s only been a day, great stuff!
I’ve drunk two pots of tea today - am I in the right thread?
Glad Warbler’s come back.
Glad Jani’s been made to sit on the naughty step. I was beginning to shout, “SERENITY NOW!” whenever I read a new post. I always got the impression that English wasn’t his/her first language because the attitude seemed obnoxious for no real reason. Maybe something was getting lost in the translation?
I can take my brass off with one hand.
Thanks guys! It’s a shame when they did the 3D conversion they didn’t take the chance to get things balanced up properly. At least I know which is the least offensive edition now!
your youtube links are dead
A bit harsh. What did they ever do to you?
I want to buy Predator on blu ray but I’m confused. There’s three versions I can see: Predator - standard release, Predator - ultimate hunters edition, and Predator 3D. Apparently two of the releases suffer from superwaxy dnr and one doesn’t but since Amazon combine all their reviews it’s not easy to figure out which is the unwaxy one.
Could anybody here help me figure this out? Is there even a decent quality release or are they all ugly mothers?
Listen to that well-dressed Porg up there, he’s talking sense. Discovery is designed to be one long arc which is a different to most* of the other series story structures. It stands to reason that the characters will develop as things progress doesn’t it? If everyone was fully formed by the end of the pilot and the rest of the series was them just getting into adventures it would be a bit dull (and Voyager kind of already took that approach.)
*yes, I know what Enterprise did in its third season.
You’re forgetting J. Michael Straczynski had pitched B5 to Paramount before DS9 was conceived.
Sounds reasonable, point withdrawn.
HUGE WINKY FACE.
It’s a HECK of a lot of work. A heck of a lot. Have you seen all that dirt?!
I am still holding out for a blu ray release one day but as things stand at the moment I imagine having only the DVDs to work with is going to put off any serious restorationalists.
Heck of a lot of work.
Deep Space Nine got hate because 1) it was a Babylon 5 ripoff…
Those haters were almost certainly time travellers as Babylon 5 premiered a month after DS9!
And for what my opinion’s worth around here, I just finished watching both parts of Discovery and I loved it. Great characters, from the ginger chick at the helm to Admiral Uck-Is-That to the different shades of Klingons everyone was interesting. Gorgeous visuals and subtle music and nice use of flashbacks. I didn’t like the hologram communications - when used by the Klingons, yes, fine, but not by Starfleet (they tried it once before in DS9 and it didn’t fit very well there either. I can’t wait to see where this is all going and judging by the preview at the end we’ve barely seen anything.
Best line?.. “Filthy Andorians”!!!
Oh wow, this is some good news. I hope it’s going to be released worldwide.
What a treat. This is how I first watched IT years ago and the two-part format makes it feels proper again! Thanks for putting this together, great work.
It does sound cool!
Can you elaborate on fixing the editing in the club scene, what do you plan to do?
So Panaka is Typho’s uncle? Well, well, well.
RIP Harry Dean Stanton. At least he was 91.
Which adds up to 10 which is the number of completion.
Spot on, Bingo! 😉
I am disappointed to find that despecialized sets are still being offered for sale on eBay. A quick search shows somebody in York (England) and what looks like our old friend in San Diego selling with impunity.
What’s equally tragic and hilarious is that the latter now claims to be donating a portion of all his profits to the ASPCA.
Man builds AT-AT in front garden for local scarecrow competition!
False advertising:
The more I look at this photo the scarier it becomes.
“Yes, I destroyed that castle. I do not like castles. I shall destroy all the castles!”
