I went for a mammogram in the small town nearest to where I live. The female population is about 2,500 and the checks are free and can be scheduled pretty much to suit you. Despite this I was told that in the last week alone 157 appointments were missed and NOT ONE phoned to cancel, they just didn’t bother to turn up.

I simply can’t understand this. Yes, it’s awkward, uncomfortable and a bit scary but it’s a free, potentially life saving exam!

WTF is wrong with these people deleting their posts!!! When the OP deletes the most important part of a thread as has happened here can’t the mods restore it?

Does anybody remember if this was a fan project or a discussion about the rubbishy official hd versions? And for that matter, is anybody aware of any other Buffy-related fan editing going on? Google brought me here but didn’t have much else to say on the subject!

I just finished reading From A Certain Point Of View (a collection of short stories from various characters in '77 Star Wars for those who don’t read novels) and there were several stories based in the cantina. Every single one has Han shooting Greedo and every time the scene plays out as it does in the original theatrical release.

Does it mean the special edition canon of Greedo shooting at Han is now officially changed or is it (more likely imo) just down to the fear of nerd rage that including that part might provoke?

Whatever the explanation they clearly had a discussion about how the event should be portrayed with all the writers. It’s interesting, as a book like this telling stories from varying povs was a golden opportunity to have either Greedo or Han shooting first with a wink to the reader.

It’s a good book though with a lot of fun (and bonkers) stories.

I also shower in the evening.

All the Friday The 13th movies in a blu ray box set currently costs anywhere from £255 to £600?! And what individual releases there are come in at various outlandish prices too.

They’re not exactly regarded as genre “classics” so what’s the deal?

“Rings” (2017)

In the original U.S. remake of Ringu there was a haunting and memorable scene on a ferry where a horse freaked out and jumped into the water. Tragically, shortly before leaping to its death the poor animal disgraced itself and took a dump. Fifteen years later that horse can finally rest in peace because somebody’s scooped up every last piece of that manure and made a movie out of it.

Yes, according to his tumblr the original was the 149 minute “Vimeo” cut whereas the “improved cut” runs at 147 minutes.

Both were available on fanedit.info but it appears that the 147 minute cut is the sole version available today.

I can’t imagine we’ll ever be getting a PG or U rated Star Wars movie again either - at least not a live action one. I think the PG-13 / 12 rating seems to be what they aim for nowadays.

When my mum was pregnant with me she saw Saturday Night Fever so I guess that’s the first movie I heard. But I’m very proud to say that my first movie watched in the cinema was Star Wars (a re-release in 1985ish.)

I was resolutely not going to watch this trailer and was going into antispoilerlockdown mode but I kept getting told how great it was so I caved in!

I liked it except for how “busy” a lot of the effects shots looked but then it’s a trailer so of course all the exciting parts are going to be on show.

I’m reasonably sure the end was two different scenes but I’m looking forward to being wrong.

Loved how Rey’s lightsaber swings were timed with the music, it won’t be like that in the film so it shows the care they took to make it (whoever that was.)

In addition (because I don’t want to break the new rules) I predict that on next week’s episode of Supergirl Kara will be wearing a blue top at some point.

Granted, and as with most of the mythology information, it’s not given to us in a transparent fashion or all that elegantly but… The black oil in the movie is the alien’s life force. It contains both consciousness and the building blocks for making new aliens.

The point was made in the movie that the syndicate had no idea the oil would do anything other than control those it infected and this new information very quickly changed their outlook on how they would try to stall the invasion.

The black oil was also very separately the alien “blood” in some episodes and ACTUAL fuel oil in “Piper Maru”, “Apochrypha” and “Vienen”. It was just a medium for a body-jumping alien consciousness that was able to be used as it was similar enough to the alien’s own black oil blood stuff.

I predict there’ll be a title announcement for the untitled Han Solo movie sometime around the release of Ep VII in December and a teaser trailer in January when Rebels comes back followed by a full trailer after Rebels finishes sometime around March then when “The Kessel Ron: A Star Wars Story” is released in May we’ll get an announcement of the next anthology movie which everyone and their bantha seems to think is going to be about Ben Kenobi but which I predict will be about bounty hunters.

I’m not saying it stands alongside the all-time greats of cinema but it’s practically flawless. The music, the cinematography, the story, the acting, and pretty much everything else is perfect to me. I really don’t think there’s a thing about it I’d change if I could.

Fight the Future is a masterpiece, away with all you naysayers. What’s not to like about it?

After Googling “Chick-Fil-A” I predict that it is an activity unlikely to cause offence should you decide to provide photographic proof for us.
