Both of those work really well. That take on Like dropping the saber should be mandatory for every TLJ edit IMO.
This. An extra shot of the falling saber (which would also be a nice reference to the PT 😉) would be cherry one the top, but it works fine the way you cut it.
I have this totally bonkers wish of having Éric Serra doing SW music, which of course will never happen because he’s more synth/electronica oriented.

Oh, I’m not asking for anything 😃, I’m far from being a tech guy capable of doing such wizardry around here so I won’t try to do it (the only things I can do are subtitles and audio alterations, nothing more 😦) But I’m definitely interested in watching the result in a real edit !

I like that. It’s like TCW Obi-Wan, wearing clone trooper equipement parts, I love his general style better than the “wanabee Tatooine farmer” seen in RotS.
He confirmed it: no PT music (and I don’t believe that music tracked from any other episode is on the table… hum… except Vader’s theme during the Death Star assault ?).

About EpIV, aside from the audio channel issue there was the repetitive shot to remove, and I’ve also posted a full review of your first 4 edits with slight suggestions that could really improve (if possible to implement) the narrative flow and logic of the plots of your edits.
That’s being said: looking forward to watching EpV 😄
(and if you could think of keeping a logbook of your cut, it would be very handy for making subtitles 😃)
edit: thinking about the slow motion effect you’ve used to smoother scene transition, I believe Sir Ridley on this forum has found a way to make them more fluid (like the ones he did on Hal9000’s TFA:R v2).
That’s the most fascinating thing about Episode III: if Episode I and II fanedits tend to all go into the same direction with only slight differences that don’t fundamentally change the movies (Gungan city or not / droid factory or not / etc.), Episode III can really be quite different from one edit to the other, not even counting the theatrical cut and the unofficial extended version.
Man, I’m the one being convinced again 😄… and it also is consistent with your change made in Episode II to make Anakin visit Palpatine on his own… so no regret for not having mentionned it for III-LoE-v5 ! (and it also decreases a little bit the huge amount of tiny - 30 to 60s during time - scenes in Episode III)
(I nevertheless stand my point about the fact the shot looks cool)
This sounds like an interesting take ! When Hal announced his PT v5 I regret I didn’t try to convince (I probably would have failed 😃) him to add the first part of the “Jedi war room” scene, just because it looks cool (I believe “the new canon cut” kept it that way). But here I’m not sure about the repetitive line kept, as you mention it only a full watch of your edit could give the right hindsight about your choice.
Or the worst !
The only “too bad” thing about that is you would lose the gorgeous shot of Phasma vs Finn (you know, the shot that was in the trailer).

Oh that’s great, thanks again ! … You know what’s my next question is gonna be : something about lossless output files such as these for roman numerals with no “V” episodes 😃 (in due time, of course !)
