Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion
Time
George and Rick, a lot of industry people I wouldn't know in a police line up, and I thought I saw Burtt and Coleman floating around at one point as well.

And for the record (even though he has stated it himself in an interview or two as has an LFL spokesperson), George isn't losing any sleep over re-edits. On the other hand, he certainly doesn't like the idea of other people profiting off of his work.
But when it comes to editing, he did the same thing when he was young, recutting old dogfight films and footage from films like the Great Train Robbery as quasi animatics for ideas. If there were conventions and the internet back then, his stuff would probably eventually have gotten leaked and bootlegged, too.

Info: Any Interest In A Corrected 2004 DVD? (“Deliberate Creative Decisions” info)
Time
I was just watching my Pre ANH vhs bootleg and stumbled onto something pretty shocking.
The NEW Krayt dragon call for the 2004 dvds is actually part of the REAL original Krayt Dragon call.
Obi-Wan makes the "2004" shriek first, followed by the one that we know from the later releases.
I can't believe I never noticed that before.

Figured I would go ahead and post a wav of it, too:

MagnoliaFan Edits: Ep I "Balance Of The Force", and Ep II "The Clone War" (Released)

BTW, Jar Jar never thought he saved Qui-Gon's life.
He was arrogant and taking credit for it anyway... That's why he makes that awkward laugh toward Qui-Gon later when he tries to throw it in Qui-Gon's face. He knew he was full of it...
He is the same guy who also claims to have destroyed all the battledroids surrounding the Queen by himself, later on...

Let's use the whole quote in the correct context:

Even so... there would have to be minimal editing of Jar Jar (who is sure to have at least a FEW lines), Neimondians, etc. to ensure continuity with the previous edits no?

That would be tubular if that was all that needed to be done.

But let's think about it, it isn't going to be as good as we'd hope. It will require *some* tinkering to be made better. And I'm glad we have none other than our very own MagnoliaFan on the job when the DVDs come out.

I have actually been contacted by a few Lucasfilm and Lucasarts employees who are fans.
I know some of the people behind Galaxies and Knights of the Old Republic are big fans, and there is a little reference to Balance in Kotor, so it is possible that an homage was dropped into Battlefront as well. On the other hand, it could be a coincidence...

Wow, I never noticed the "Say here..." one. The seceed and the aggravate ones I had been emailed about already.
I just kind of finished the subtitle tracks/crawls one night at like 2 am and never looked back.
Good to know for the DL version.
At the time, it wasn't really something I cared enough about to worry about fixing.
I take these edits a lot less seriously than you guys do.

"Die, Jedi scum!" - SW Episode II
Time
Actually, I never read the flame saber rumors in the past...
I always read that Dooku was going to have a curved blade (obviously misinformation based upon truth - it was the hilt that was curved).
When I made the yellow saber, there was a residual red flicker here and there that I couldn't get rid of to save my life. When I looked at it frame by frame, it was gone. Put it into motion and there it was. It kind of made the saber look like a flaming sword.
I read about the flame saber on a posting here later on.

Cool covers...

And no, those new subs were not endorsed by me.
I read over it and 85% of it is the same and the rest is just a little stiffer and censored to be more G-rated (depite the fact that no other SW film has ever been G)...
Maybe we should go remove all the "damns" and "hells" littered all over Ep II, IV, and V too... God forbid they wander into PG terrritory.

"Die, Jedi scum!" - SW Episode II

That's alright...
I did the original Clone War the week the EP II dvd came out...
I've learned a thing or two since then. I can probably pull it off. I just hadn't given any thought to it since then.

The first part of the meadow scene was the one part I wanted to fit in originally, but it disrupted the flow of the film. I'm re-examining fitting it in, in the new version.
