Well you don't have to "do it right" to get a good sounding surround mix. I've seen people spend 5000 bux on surround sound that sounds awesome and I’ve heard 150 dollar bookshelf surround sound setups that sound decent too. One thing I have learned over the years of home theatre is that sound is a matter of personal preference. One set of speakers will not sound good to every single person on the planet. The size and set up of a room can go a long way to making your home theatre sound and look better. Off subject I recently upgraded my Infocus 4800 to the 4805 (A very nice projector for the price). Right after that I was given an opportunity to get the 7200 for dirt cheap and had to have it. Now I bet if I had that 4805 in a perfect room for projection TV (IE...black walls, no light what so ever...etc.) It would perform way above and beyond what my 7200 is doing now in a room with white walls and ambient light. Well maybe not above and beyond but right up there. To some one on the street it would look just as good if not better. Now to someone like me who lives for the shit, they will notice the little differences. Back to subject (I swear I’m almost done) The point being that he can get really good sounding surround sound for dirt cheap. IF he is willing to take the time and set it up right. Everyone has to start somewhere when it comes to surround sound. I think my first set up was around 200 bux and it was kick ass for the time. Then I started need better and better stuff.
Hell if you never ever listen or look at better equipment you might always be happy with your set up.
Can you think about never needing or wanted better equipment.
Dead Alive (Or Braindead) is an amazing 1992 Peter "The true lord of the rings" Jackson zombie splatterfest. While spying on her timid son Lionel and his ethnic girlfriend at the zoo, snobby, olde Vera is bitten by an imported Sumatran rat-monkey (Yes a rat moneky) carrying a deadly rabies-like zombie virus. Vera eventually transforms into a ravenous zombie-cannibal whom Lionel tries to conceal, but soon the plague spreads, things get totally out of control and Lionel has to deal with more bloodthirsty, flesh-eating zombies than he can handle. Hail to Peter Jackson for making this film the goriest film of all time! Literally wall to wall with buckets of guts, grue, blood, splatter and an outrageous bloodbath of an ending which must be seen to be believed.
And for all you people across the pond you can easily get the longer uncut version. We only get the unrated version
Your version is 7 minutes longer.
GO SEE IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can't have a horror thread without talking about this movie....
Just out of curiosity has anyone seen two displays side by side where one was calibrated using the DVE disc and the other was done using.....I can't remember the other one. Damn.
Anyway I have always use DVE (Digital Video Essentials) and was just wondering which was actually better.
I guess if you want to nick pick you can see some differences but not enough to shell out the extra money for. I'm running a 57" and a 92" and when it comes down to it by the time the Superbits come out the original movie is like 9 bux for a disc.
For me I just can't justify the extra money on something that is only slightly better at best. It's not like the superbits are leaps and bounds over the other discs. However the Lawrence of Arabia and Fifth Element discs were considerable improvement over the older discs.
For me I have to ask is it really important to spend 22+ bux on and better looking version of "Cliffhanger" or "Starship Troopers" when there are VERY good looking version already available for under 10 bux?
Now if the Superbits were a bit cheaper......
Then I would have to buy all of them for the better sound and picture. I could justify the marginal upgrades in picture for a lower price. But for now I’m sticking with the lower priced discs so I can spend my money on stuff I really need super editions of.
Like SHOWGIRLS
Just kidding you need two super editions of SHOWGIRLS.

Has anyone seen the movie Trey and Matt did before South Park? Cannibal the Musical, It's funny as hell. I'm glad I saw it before South Park was made. That way I had no idea what I was getting into.
Just so everyone knows. Something like 98% of all Revenge posters are fakes (Don't quote me on that number though). It's one of the most bootlegged posters on the market. #2 is Raiders of the Lost Ark. If you want one bad enough just get a cheap one on eBay. Almost all of those are fake anyway.
A real poster will more than likely be folded. There is a lot of controversy about wheatear any rolled version survived at all. Almost everyone agrees that if they did there are only around 100 of them. I know I've never seen one.
A real one has a black lower right hand corner. The fakes have a blues cloud thing. Do your research and you'll know what I’m talking about with the cloud thing.
If you do buy one with a blue lower right hand corner don't pay more than 15 bux for it. It IS a fake.
For the differences of the two version head on over to the bootleg DVD review thread. I have posted a review of both and a few other poeple have put up reviews too. Good stuff.
The dual layer is way way off at this point due to compatabilty issues.
As for getting a set you will have to ask around....
Really other than the DTS tracks I don't see much of a reason for the Superbits. On a bigger screen you "MIGHT" notice a very small difference but not worth spending 22+ bux for.
You also could run everything through a Stereo Receiver. That way you could have everything into that and that output into your computer. If you didn't want to get a switcher and are interesting in bigger sound.
No matter what the specs are in the end they are just specs. What it will come down to is what one looks better on your TV.
For a complete nerd reference look at new graphics cards. The new Navidia card has a few things that the new ATI card doesn't and yet the ATI card still out performes the Nividia card in frame rate tests.
Anyway what i'm saying is that no matter which new HD format has better specs it still may not be as good as the one with worse specs. It's all in how they are used.
I don't want to get in the middle of this but that is my two cents. I really don't care which version gets picked up. I just don't want a format war like what is going on with DVD-Audio and SACD
