Saw Star Trek (2009) last night, and liked it very much. Not an instant classic film, but very enjoyable.  Glad I went to see it. Sure it has it’s problems, but nothing that made me groan too much.  I’m looking forward to the next installment.  I enjoyed it in the same way I did “Galaxy Quest”. What more can I say?

Well, I can’t really rate the Star Trek films, as I’ve only seen the JJ Abrams ones. I saw a bit of season 1 of TNG, and if that’s the worst season, I can’t wait to see the rest of the series. Safe to say, both of the JJ movies were really good in my opinion, but apparently they aren’t good Trek movies, so I’ll just move on now…

Oh for fucks sake. here we go again. Will you please stop turning this thread into a childish trollfest all the time anyone tells you to stop this crap. And what the hell is it with all this bandwagon bullshit all the time? Have you ever thought that people are just coming to the same conclusion about your behaviour? No one is jumping on a bandwagon here, they’re just fed up with this nonsense. And for gods sake please press this button on your keyboard after the full stop at the end of your sentences.

Well said Ady. Well said.

Birdman

Simply put, everything in this film worked. The acting was great, Michael Keaton especially was fantastic, the music was very good, and the camerawork was astounding. I can’t imagine how many times they would have to re-shoot scenes because one thing stuffed up (obviously it wasn’t really all one take, but still). Dare I say, a perfect film if ever there was one.

Final rating: 10/10
