Damn, and people complained about my edits. These are some huge heavy cuts that’ll be very hard to do.

Agreed but he did make it clear that it won’t be used in a future trilogy viewing obviously so I don’t have much of a problem with it since it’s more of a interesting expirmental edit that might be a fun watch.

Yes, my edit is just experimental, to see how many cuts I can get away with doing.

Some ideas of mine, that might be too hard, but I think they would be cool to implement. Of course, I don’t think the film needs improving, but I think some edits might be nice. My idea is to make the film maybe an hour and a half, and cut a lot. Some ideas for cutting are:

-Cut most of Poe’s “too cool for school attitude” so the audience connects to him less and doesn’t believe he is a main character.
-Cut Captain Phasma being in the spotlight. Now she is merely an extra.
-Cut General Hux, as most of his scenes centre around Starkiller Base and Snoke.
-Cut Grand Master Snoke, this may be hard because of the Kylo is Han’s son reveal, but it might be doable.
-Cut Starkiller Base entirely. Now it is just a base for the First Order, not a superweapon.
-Cut any scene based around getting into Starkiller Base and whatnot.
-Cut Poe returning, now he truly is dead. This will be impossible as a trilogy, but my edit is based around making it sort of standalone.
-Cut the attack on Starkiller by the Resistance.
-Cut Finn being loaded onto the rescue ship. Now he is dead.
-Cut Rey meeting up with Luke Skywalker, end the film with her leaving that planet that the Resistance is on.

Obviously this would be quite a heavy cut, just to make a different type of film, not because I think it needs improving.

Chappie

Oh boy, where to start? Firstly, the main characters are annoying unlikable pricks who made me want to punch someone. Did Neil Blomkamp really think I would root for these people? Chappie was also a really unlikable character, made only to spout some pretentious bullshit about emotions and whatnot, and also to be the main characters slave for most of the film. The CGI is good, and Sharlto Copley did a good voice performance as Chappie (did he do the mo-cap, or was Chappie entirely CG?), and Dev Patel was likable enough, dsepite being featured in the film for like, 10 minutes. And don’t get me started on Hugh Jackman’s cringeworthy villain. The worst line in big budget cinema history will forever be “How 'bout a clusterbomb? Heheheh!” The whole film felt like Short Circuit + Robocop + Housos - anything good about those three things,

All of my ratings for the MCU movies:

Iron Man: 3.5/4
The Incredible Hulk: 2.5/4
Iron Man 2: 2/4
Thor: 2/4
Captain America: The First Avenger: 3/4
The Avengers: 2.5/4
Iron Man 3: 3/4
Thor: The Dark World: 2/4
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: 4/4
Guardians of the Galaxy: 2/4
Avengers: Age of Ultron: 3/4
Ant-Man: 3/4

I don’t hate any of them. It’s just on the whole they aren’t the best.

With the passage of time comes yet another change of opinion, now I rate them like this:

Iron Man: B
The Incredible Hulk: D
Iron Man 2: C
Thor: C-
Captain America: The First Avenger: C+
The Avengers: B-
Iron Man 3: B-
Thor: The Dark World: C
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: B+
Guardians of the Galaxy: B
Avengers: Age of Ultron: C-
Ant-Man: C

Wow, only five out of 12 films that I actually like. Let’s hope that Civil War can make it six out of 13.

I just don’t see how someone could dislike those films.

Really? I watched the first one and didn’t care at all. A meh rating of C sounds exactly right.

Believe it or not, some people don’t care about comic books either.

I don’t really like many comic book movies today, maybe because I’m just too oversaturated in them. Take last year, everyone said how good Age of Ultron and Ant-Man were, and how much Fant4stic sucked, I didn’t really think they were that far apart in quality. But I do think that the first two X-Men films are still the best in that franchise, and some of the best Marvel films I have seen.

Ranking the Star Wars films

The Holiday Special has charm and cheese, and isn’t supposed to be part of the film series. The PT is just bad. Bad films, bad Star Wars. Though, Rifftrax applies to both candidates, so they’re comparable in that respect.

I was hoping that The Holiday Special would be cheesy goodness, but it just turned out to be a boring mess, with no coherent story of any kind, far too many subplots, and awful acting. Say what you will about the acting in the PT, but nothing is as bad and Harrison Ford saying “You’re all like family to me.” The prequels are a mess, but The Holiday Special is just a wreck.

Batman v Superman

Very mixed feelings.

The good:
-Ben Affleck
-Gal Gadot
-Jesse Eisenberg (surprisingly)
-The action
-The effects
-Jeremy Irons
-The camerawork and cinematography

The bad:
-The script
-The pacing
-Henry Cavill
-The grim tone
-The all over the place plot
-The ending
-All the setup
