First, I don’t think I have ever directly stated what I actually do for living …

So when your said you were a “scientist,” you just meant you did science on the amateur back-alley circuit?

I guess I will have to school you too. Scientist is not a job. It refers to any individual who uses the scientific method.

He’s more shtick now than man. Twisted and stupid.

You know you ain’t shit when Darth ID is getting on your ass…

EDIT:

No one talks to him in real life.

Even for him that’s too bad a punishment. He should at least be around less than reputable but to be completely alone (say for his mummy) would be crushing to a guy like him.

Funny Fallout 3 should come up as I have just started playing it again. Didn’t get too far my first time trying to run through it due to constant crashing but I’m completely enthralled by it. I just don’t like the wonky hit detection but the questing and everything else seems solid thus far. I just pretty much destroyed the Enclave and engaged Project Purity but if it’s anything like TES (which it is in pretty much every way) I should have only scratched the surface.

Just so we’re on the same page here: I didn’t like BvS either.

I just don’t get the idolization the Christopher Nolan Batman movies get when they’re only passable.

I really liked the Dark Knight and most of Batman Begins because they felt a lot more like crime dramas than superhero movies.

I can see why some people may not like that but I’m all for it. I’d rather have a superhero movie that’s actually well written than to have something that’s closer to the comics (Burton films) but is meh in nearly every way imaginable. Jack’s performance as the Joker excluded obviously.

The Bruce Wayne scenes on the other hand are all really bland and some of the practical action isn’t very exciting.

I disagree. I found his scenes with Alfred and Lucious to be both funny and heart warming. Especially the scenes in which Alfred is telling him not to exceed his limits and how he dealt with the thief. I also like how him, Gordon and Harvey all have the same arc (until Harvey’s fall of course) as they all have to do things that is against their moral compass for the greater good. And that is what the film really is about; not Batman vs Joker because reasons. And speaking of reason why The Joker is there I love that Batman’s tenacity and vigor is the reason why the Joker is there in the first place and of course that leads to Rachel’s death. I’m kind of rambling but I find all of this stuff really compelling.

they’re obviously talking about games with The Witcher and The Elder Scrolls series

I’ll have to take your word on that.

Yeah there are some games that just have so fucking much packed in (actually a reason I can’t really get into them, oddly enough), so the image makes sense. It doesn’t say anything about quality, just quantity.

Good point though shorter games like The Last of Us stands neck and neck with just about any story ever told.

Having recently seen TDK and TDKR, I find them to be very overrated. The main thing that irks me is all the talking and exposition. I feel like Christopher Nolan takes the audience for idiots so he as to spell out everything just to make sure it’s shoved down our throats whatever message he’s trying to give.

Also, it tries to balance between realism and fantasy and it often falters. For all the talk about a ‘realistic’ Batman movie the fans talk about, the plot hinges on microwave bombs, planes without wings and radar vision from hacked cell phones. And don’t get me started on that moment when Batman jumps out of a window, grabs Maggie Gyllenhaal and they land on a car with hardly a scratch…

They’re not terrible films, but I don’t understand how fans will point out all the minute plot issues with BvS and give these films a pass.

People get on BvS because it nearly got everything wrong. From how the characters are portrayed to what a miscast Eisenberg was to how stupid Lex’s plan was which hinged on using Doomsday too early (which is a great story they should have saved for later) etc. The only really good thing about the film was Ben Affleck becoming the closest thing to a faithful film adaptation of Batman (with the exception to the whole killing thing) and Gal Gadot. While some will say TDK trilogy is overrated they are at least decently made films whereas BvS is a mess.

Why? It’s a pretty fun movie

I still don’t know why some think TDKR is a bad film. It was disappointing for sure but it was pretty well made.

I agree entirely! Though it’s the worst of the trilogy IMO I still think it’s a very good movie.

Have you seen the “Dark Knight Saga Recut, The - Part III” fanedit? It makes the film so much better. That fan edit is better than the theatrical version and Batman Begins in my opinion.

I thought it was as good as the Dark Knight.

EDIT: But then again I don’t view the Dark Knight as the holy grail that some people do either.

For me it’s on par with Batman Begins but nowhere near The Dark Knight just like Return of The Jedi is nowhere near The Empire Strikes Back or how The Last Crusade is nowhere near Raiders of The Lost Arc.

I don’t know really where to put this since there isn’t a General Movies thread but it seems Batman v Superman got some inspiration from Iron Man 2 which is probably why it wasn’t that good of a film. One of the “similarities” is a bit of a reach though.

Which one? The secret HQ one (since Tony’s identity is public) or the drunk one (since Bruce was faking, I think)?

The drunk one. That’s like saying The Matrix ripped off The Warriors just because there are scenes in which punching is involved.

Both have subway trains in them. The Wachoswkis ripped Walter Hill off! 😉

Walter Hill should have sued the Wachowski hacks for plagiarism!

Never understood the disdain for “Sheev”. It’s no dumber or better than 80% of other Star Wars names. Certainly not as bad as the last couple decades of ridiculous Darth names.

I didn’t say it was worse than “Dooku” or “Grievous” but “there was dumber stuff in the prequels” isn’t exactly the best defense. Point is Palpatine is a character who doesn’t even need a name other than “Palpatine.” “Sheev” just takes away from his badassness.

What about Darth Plagueis the Obscure John Milton Reference?

The tragedy of Darth Plagueis added to the lore and laid the foundations for a great novel which would fix numerous problems with the Prequels.

I guess we could always do a “Disregard Imperial Scum Pledge” and just ignore his fucking ass until he haunts some other unfortunate forum or youtube comment section.

He’d probably fit in better on YouTube comments.

Or maybe Reddit.

You do Reddit a disservice by saying that lol

Youtube and the various chans is where someone like Impscum belongs. Who knows…his presence could inspire some other egotistical imbeciles to change how they carry themselves.
