Hux actor also sucks in his part (powerful speech ? Seriously guys…

No one shares any of your unpopular opinions regarding acting…

It’s true, he (?) is the only one I’ve ever seen who thinks Daisy did a terrible job.

Even the biggest OT/EU fanboy couldn’t deny the quality of the acting in TFA. The worst comment I’ve heard about the acting in TFA is that the acting in the OT (and PT in a few cases) was better but even among that group Mala stands alone.

or if they just kinda stare blankly at the screen.

When the film is so bad as TFA, you cannot blame people for doing that.

If most of us can pay attention to the PT well enough to form well reasoned arguments someone like you can certainly watch TFA with some attentiveness. To at least get a moderate sense of what you’re talking about. Beyond that you could have just payed attention for the sake of not being lazy.

I think he’d be more interesting as a straight villain. Something along the lines of Krennic or Tarkin. Someone who is just an evil criminal, not driven by the baggage of granddad and mom.

A bit premature don’t you think? Snoke could have twisted Ben in a multitude of other ways while seducing him. Kylo feels as though he should rule over non Force Sensitives which means at least part of his motivation is based on his philosophy. Who knows how many other bits of philosophy have had an influence on his actions?

As it pertains to Leia we don’t know how Kylo feels about her. We can infer but we have nothing concrete.

EDIT:

In defense of my earlier criticism of Kylo, the depth is all Rey.

I disagree as Kylo taking off his mask is out of character as he didn’t do it for Lor San Tekka or Poe. The only two people he did this for were his father and this scavenger. Why would he do such a thing for a seemingly insignificant figure?

The better question is why does he wear a helmet ALL the time. It makes lots of sense when he goes into combat, but when he is just chillen on a starship he does not need it for anything.

The answer is still “intimidation” and “because he looks like a kid.”

Or to put it in simpler terms he wears it to feel powerful.

@impscum

Kylo froze Poe’s blaster bolt in place and put him into stasis. Later in the film he calmly deflected Rey’s shots away, put her into stasis and knocked her out via The Force. Lastly he completely decimated Finn in lightsaber combat. Just because he couldn’t defeat Rey in a weakened state doesn’t mean he can’t harm people at all.

Helmet or not, he is rather pathetic villain.

We’re trying to have a discussion here…

Anywho, I think Kylo is highly ashamed of his looks as well. Do you guys remember how he reacted to Hux coming in on him without his mask. It’s like he got caught with his pants down whereas Vader shrugged off Admiral Piette seeing the back of his burnt head.

Rian Johnson has recent opened up a little about Luke and Rey in VIII:

“I don’t want to skip ahead two years,” Johnson says. “I want to see the very next moment of what happens.” How Rey and Luke relate to each other is the key relationship in Episode VIII, and Johnson says “a large part of the movie” will be spent addressing why Luke’s there and what he’ll do next. Like Luke, Rey has been pulled into a bigger world by connecting with the Force, “but part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realization that she has this power and this gift,” Johnson adds. “She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential.” - Rian Johnson

I think it’s going to be very interesting seeing one of our deal with the weirdness and suddenness of having such powers. Luke and Anakin are just okay with being Force Sensitive whereas Rey being confused about The Force could make for a nice inner journey for Rey. Also I wonder what her opinion on things in the Galaxy will be once she fully comes to terms with her Force Sensitivity and get’s some training. Kylo feels as though Force Sensitives should rule over those who are deaf to The Force; perhaps Rey will come to the same conclusion.

I don’t think she will go that route if they are planning another trilogy after this one. At some point Rey has to have a child (seeing the direction Disney headad, probably she will somehow have an orphan child, as anakin, luke, an herself were). And probably she will make a couple with one of the three male characters of this trilogy. Provided one of them, the force user is probably her cousin, then nope, I don’t think there will be an anti-muggle Rey.

It’s possible Rey could procreate. Daisy Ridley has stated that she doesn’t see Rey as a Jedi so that could entail her pursuing a relationship in a future film. Imagine having two ultra powerful Force Sensitive bloodlines? Which is assuming she isn’t a Skywalker of course.

Well I find the fact the conflict he has interesting as he is willing himself to be evil and I find his immaturity and his uncertainty to be somewhat endearing. I feel the same way about Luke’s whining and Rey’s naivety as it makes them relatable and makes me want to see them progress. I want there to be a day where we joke about how a baby Kylo used to destroy machines when he was mad.

Interesting to imagine that Luke and Anakin found their peace growing up in tinkering and constructing and perhaps little Ben was always more destructive.

I can see that along with a constant need for attention and selfishness being traits he also exhibited while growing up. When compared to Luke, Anakin and Rey, Kylo had an exponentially better life so for him to still have the mentality of a mentally disturbed 14 year old is a testament to how damaged he is.

Well it was not “something similar” because the difference is that R1 plot is in fact about stealing the plans, while TFA plot is in fact about blowing up death star.

Regardless of how you rationalize it you still accused the film of having a different plot than the one that are actually in the film just like Alderaan.

No. Alderaan accused, while I stated the fact. R1 creators intended the plot to be about stealing the plans and they actually achieved that in the film. TFA creators might have intended (pretended, to be precise) that the plot is about finding Luke, while the actual plot in the film is about destroying a death star.

And here I was thinking I left my tinfoil hat discussion days in the distant past.

Alderaan thinks the plot of RO is “there’s a bunch of characters, including some villains.”

You’re probably right seeing as how he has demonstrated that he has a less than extensive foundation of knowledge in regards to Rogue One.

Not that I’m surprised but you clearly don’t understand what the word “plot” means.

Not that I’m surprised either, but you clearly don’t understand something that you are trying to mock someone else about.

If you think the plot of Rogue One was to get the Rebels the Death Star plans, then time to guess again. 😉

Hmm…I remember Impscum saying something similar about TFA.

You remember incorrectly.

it has no impact on the plot

Finding him was the plot…

No, it was not. As I said, the plot was rehashed ANH plot. Finding Luke was a completely useles header and footer.

Wrong again.
