That’s the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. The PT would have been looked upon with favor if AOTC and ROTS were good films and we all know it. We would have seen TPM as a bumpy start to a good - amazing trilogy and the one you have to sit through to get to the good stuff. And to me ROTJ is a huge drop in quality in comparison to SW and ESB but the OT in it’s totality still works for me. You’re just looking for an excuse to hate the ST. No matter how good VIII or IX could be all you’ll be saying is that you think TFA sucks instead of judging the films based on their own merit.

I’m screenshotting this for when such a time arises so I can shove it right back in your face.

I’m keeping TFA and Thrawn Trilogy regardless of the next movies. All I have to do is replace the twins with Ben, and that’s easy given that they aren’t even born until Last Command and are barely a plot point.

If Rey and Kylo are brother and sister (which I very much doubt) you won’t have to do that. I hope that’s not the case.

I’m not opposed to CG in general but the CGI in TCW and Rebels is horrendous. The disconnect between that and reality (or good CGI/animation) is most apparent when lightsaber duels occur. They’ve always seemed off to me…

I don’t really see anyone pleading for their “ideas” to be canon. And it’s been some months since I last stated I wanted the Darth Bane Trilogy to be canonized. Also the “making yourself feel better” part is just you projecting and in general isn’t really warranted.

I really hope you’re right…although I think Disney took the ‘going back to the source material’ a little too far with Rebels at least. So they went back to the original concept art and that’s why the lightsabers are so thin? I mean come on, those things were changed and they were changed for a reason. Same like the first draft of ANH, several things were discarded for a reason

Normally I would say Rebels could get away with that because it’s a cartoon but TCW doesn’t have the same lightsabers so it doesn’t even mesh with that show. I think the whole visual style should be overhauled though because the show just looks terrible in general.

Nah. In the Holiday Special it wouldn’t have been Threepio telling our heroes story, featuring just the best bits… it would have been Chewbacca re-telling the story across a full 4-hours in untranslated Wookiee growls.

The scene feels like the SW equivalent of the Bard sitting round the fire telling stories of might and legend.

Totally Star Wars and not horrid in the slightest. By the way, it’s true… all of it.

It would have been better if this had been told to anything besides teddy bears…Makes the whole ordeal seem silly to me and SW nor ESB never had moments that silly so it creates somewhat of a disconnect.

My personal canon is Rogue One onward to TFA. The backstory laid out throughout the OT is sufficient enough so the PT is worthless and Rogue One is all I need in terms of seeing what happened prior to STAR WARS.
