These early review scores for BOTW are getting me pumped man.

No shipping notification on my Switch yet, but Amazon says it’s arriving tomorrow by 8 PM. I plan to spend the weekend with my ass firmly planted on the couch.

Same here man. The universe has been very gracious to me as a totally unrelated makes it so I don’t have to go to work today. That and me having at least a half oz. indicates that this should be a perfect weekend.

Delivery was delayed by a day. It’s not clear at this point if it was Amazon’s screw-up or Nintendo’s. Some reports are saying that Nintendo dropped the ball on getting systems to retailers in a timely fashion, leaving them to scramble to get them out the door in time for launch day. Many reports of people who preordered not getting their Switch today. Kind of bummed since I took the day off, but first-world problems for sure. At least I got a shipping notification for delivery tomorrow; some are getting bumped to Monday or Tuesday.

That’s terrible man and I know what you mean as it was sold out damn near everywhere say for Walmart where I was able to pick up one of the last units.

Do you have yours? Impressions so far?

I do and while I can’t render judgement on the console itself considering it’s lacking a web browser and Netflix but as for BOTW my impressions are that it is fantastic so far. The innovation, the freedom you get (once you get passed the initial prologue area), and the attention to detail that gives the game way more depth than other Zelda games. I’m loving every second of it so far.

Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread

Aye, not their best - though did like the one particular joke from K2SO about flying the ship 😃

A shame really - as their Rogue One review video back in mid-December was one of the better youtube reviews around - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azAhWssdmkI

Yeah, it brings up a few good points…

EDIT:

Like really good points.

“aa” as Charlamagne Tha God has said is a term of endearment while “er” is hardly used in the same way as it is usually used in a demoralizing way. There is a clear differences in the way both is used.

That’s all I have to say on the matter.

What about white people using the former?

Don’t mind it at all

Are you black?

Black, White, Puerto Rican, Irish, Hungarian and Jamacian

Ok then you can have 17% of an opinion. :p

Considering I’m on the internet that is more than enough.

Don’t mind it at all and I’ve heard the latter said by my white coworkers so many times it doesn’t phase me anymore though I would prefer that it isn’t used around me. Unless it’s being used in a joke of course. I can’t trust anyone who can’t take a good race joke.

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **

It was no personal attack. I was pointing out that you cannot refute two solid arguments with just one person’s experience.

Sounds like both to me. You literally said the man wasn’t up to the task of getting Rey toys for his kids. Regardless of the overall message you were trying to convey you still shaded Frink on the low. Remember you can’t argue against the truth so the futility of your rationalizing should be apparent.

Rogue One soundtrack - needs better titles

It also needs better music as well. I found the soundtrack quite souless and generic.

I felt the same initially, but the more I listen to it, the more ‘Star Wars’-y it sounds. I’d say it’s giving TFA a run for its money.

I don’t think it has enough melodic material to really be on par with TFA’s or even AOTC’s soundtrack. I admit that I have yet to “live” with this soundtrack as I did with TFA so my opinion may change.

Ranking the Star Wars films
Time

Alderaan said:

I don’t begrudge anyone liking the Disney movies, even if they do suck. It’s their preference. But it does suck to see the same three people, Hasbro, Fink, and DominicanBob policing every thread on the forum in their neverending, tens of thousands of posts crusade to stamp out negative sentiment and criticism of a couple of **** movies. Especially on an OOT forum.

Well Dominic now it’s your turn. Have fun trying to convince people that you actually have gripes with the films.

What was George Lucas's worst decision with the Star Wars franchise?

Your last girlfriend was a man?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Tasha was a lot of things but a man she is not.

Embarrassingly enough I haven’t kissed a guy much less had sex with one. But my lack of Batcave exploring isn’t the conversation at hand.

EDIT:

TV’s Frink said:

Well sure but he didn’t change his mind because he watched it again.

If he had maybe any type of opinion wouldn’t have swayed him so easily. Negative, positive or something in his the middle his opinion probably would have changed no matter what the reviewer thought of the film.

Kurtz was fired because of Lucas’s ego, and the budget issues on ESB were just an excuse. Lucas could not stand someone else making a better SW movie than him, one that put story first and merchandising second. If Kurtz worked on Jedi it would have blown Empire out of the water.

The ending would have been way better but as it pertains to the totality of ROTJ it is uncertain. Surely things like Luke skipping the end of his training and the Ewoks being so focal wouldn’t have been written into the script but Kurtz’s version of ROTJ would need to do more than fixing the mistakes of the original ROTJ to be legitimately better.

At least we would have a franchise that hasn’t been on a losing streak for 35 straight years.

As of 2015 we have had two wins that I can count.

And one win that frevious could count, until he read a review that convinced him he actually didn’t like TFA after all.

So did he completely 180 or did the review reinforce his previously held points?

Personally I love the OT(unaltered), really like TFA, thought R1 was okay, don’t particularly like TPM but have a sort-of nostalgia for the era when it was released, and love to hate the rest of the PT.

Five hours later!

http://www.agonybooth.com/star-wars-the-force-awakens-2015-a-failed-review-51100

Makes me reconsider my opinions on TFA. JJ Abrams is the one director who might be destroying the art of cinema more than anyone else, even more than Michael Bay or Zack Snyder. I haven’t seen TFA in over a year, and only once, and now I’m uncertain if it would even hold up a second time.

Well his first issue was only watching the film once. You always have to watch a film twice to be able to render full judgement on it. But thats just me.

That’s pretty weak imo

But such actions are merely the nature of certain men. Some men just like to ride waves and abandon interests, people and ideologies when they encounter a new way of thinking/doing things. Regardless if the arguments are sound or not.

I have actually tested this on my last girlfriend who I coerced to changing many of her philosophies just by saying an interesting combinations of words. The teachings themselves were hallow and were filled with nothing but half truths, perversions of nature/humanity and contradictions. I can see how Cult leaders entice certain folk into joining them.
