8yo: (when movie cuts away to Sam Jackson discussing Palpatine with the Conehead Jedi) Hey, I want to see what is happening with Obi Wan! He’s the only one doing interesting stuff.

You might as well end the thread here.

I’ll say this…your kids are ahead of me because when I saw this in theaters when I was 10 I was enthralled.

What did we know about Alderaan, except it was Leia’s home planet and they didn’t have any weapons before KABOOM!

Alderaan was at least involved in the plot as it was a main character’s home planet and Luke and Ben were on a mission to go there.

Also it being a peaceful planet with no weapons made the deed seem more abhorrent.

STAR WARS: REBELS (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

So, I’m not the only one who finds Rebels supremely underwhelming after all.

I’m just waiting until The Old Master turns up. Hopefully part of the origins of The Knights of Ren and/or Supreme Leader Snoke are shown. If not at least we’ll get Ahsoka vs Vader.

Leia says in both film and novelization

“That’s why I wanted him to train with Luke,” Leia said. “I just never should have sent him away. That’s when I lost him. When I lost you both.”

This quote is a bit confusing at first but I think I understand it. Leia initially wanted to send Ben to train with Luke because she sensed him having trouble with the Dark Side. But actually sending him away only exacerbated the problem due to reasons we don’t know.

Yoda Is Your Father said:

“I think i’ll call you… hmmm… Vaaader. Yes, Vader”

I forgot about that. That was so terrible

Did that actually happen? I remember some pretty terrible dialogue from ROTS, but I don’t recall that specific exchange happening.

It’s more like “Henceforth you shall be known as Darth…heavy ass breathing…Vadah”

Yoda comparisons are pretty far off-base and just people stretching to paint everything in the film as an OT rip-off.

Yes because in a galaxy with trillions of sentients ONLY the Jedi/Sith are able to use/understand The Force…

I just wish they would have made her taller as to completely nullify any comparison between the two. It’s already bad enough people think the scene in Maz’s castle is a rip off of the cantina scene in ANH even though they have absolutely no similarities plot wise.

Though, I didn’t like their characters very much anyway.

You can’t feel any sort of way about Snoke just like you can’t feel any sort of way about Palpatine in ESB. Had he had more lines like

[Snoke said:]
“It is where you are from. What you are made of. The Dark Side—and the Light. The finest sculptor cannot fashion a masterpiece from poor materials. He must have something pure, something strong, something unbreakable, with which to work.” - Supreme Leader Snoke

I would feel better about him but we didn’t get any of that in the film. Him projecting himself as 30 feet tall is an interesting tid bit though.

I’m certain Swagma… loves how Maz and Snoke look.

You gotta give the man more credit than that. Even people like myself who enjoyed TFA didn’t like the look of those two…well Snoke would have been fine if they went for something practical.

I liked Maz.

I think they should have gone with practical effects with her too although I would probably feel the same way due to some reason I would never be able to explain.
