I think the Hosnian System was the heart of the New Republic and their fleet was located there too. At best there will be a huge power vacuum to which people will be fighting for power in order to rebuild and at worst the Republic is akin to a vegetable.
Well it doesn’t matter all that much now because there pretty much is no Republic.

Vader rising from the thing he’s on should be the last we see of him. Hell, it should be the last shot of the film. No dialogue, just breathing and then the credits.

Lord Haseo. U should think about releasing ur edit publicly. I find I agree with you about many things concerning TFA.
Once I see the film again I’ll compile my full cut list for you guys and if anyone is interested based on that I’ll share it.
what main edits would u be making?
The Kylo Ren is the son of Han and Leia reveal is going to be a bit less obvious (I’m removing the line “You cannot deny the truth of your family” line but I will be keeping the line “I know where you come from, before you called yourself Kylo Ren”)
Add music from the OT and PT where I deem the film can benefit from it though a decent amount of the original score will be intact
Reducing the amount of awkwardness that surrounds Finn when he is around Rey
Removing obvious fan service (training ball droid, the board game in STAR WARS and even showing all of the aliens in Maz’s Castle)
Nerf Poe’s flying ability a bit (mainly the implausibility of the kill streak he goes when fighting on Takodana)
Possible ideas:
Adding film grain
Color correcting certain scenes (probably not going to do this though)
Make Starkiller Base a sun killing weapon that destroys Systems by proxy from freezing (this will be problematic to make work)
Changing the title of the film to Star Wars Episode VII: Awakening of The Force
As it pertains to minor things there are just mostly going to cuts to certain lines of dialogue but a couple of miscellaneous small things I’m going to do are:

Jeez, yeah, people are overreacting way too much to some of my changes.
Some of the changes are pretty jarring and others seem to be done for no apparent reason. We’re not saying you should off yourself but you couldn’t have been expecting praise for some of these ideas.
When I say cut down certain scenes, I mean literally cut out only like two or three seconds of the scene. Nothing major.
Well taking out something like Kylo Ren’s violent fits hurts his characterization seeing as how he’s getting a full blown character arc in this trilogy.

You don’t have to apologize (with the exception of the street slang thing) but I’m just trying to help you see why a lot of these changes would irritate a lot of people and would turn them off to your edit.

I think you meant “nasty” and if so I guess that is a bit harsh but there will be a metric fuckton of TFA edits and if he wants any chance of a sizable number of people enjoying it then he has to be a little flexible when criticism is given. Especially given that quite a few of his ideas are questionable.

Well I’m not posting the majority of things I’m changing because the edit I’m making is for myself. If you’re making an edit for people to see I think it’d be best to listen to the people. No?
