Sounds promising but unfortunately the only scene that seems worth having in a fanedit is Finn and the villager. I haven’t seen the one with Maz displaying her Force Abilities as of yet.

The Lucas of the late 70’s - early 80’s is gone. You need to accept that. His ability to craft a story comparable to the OT or TFA has dissipated.
I don’t think so at all, the prequel story was fundamentally good. While his directing ability is questionable, there’s no reason to think that he wouldn’t be able to write a good continuation. Indeed he very likely had a lot of it written out in notes and so on beforehand, talking about the sequel trilogy going as far back as the set of IV. He admits his dialogue isn’t great himself, but that’s not an insurmountable obstacle. Have another writer do a dialogue pass.

But only he really truly knows where the story needs to go.
#2: In absence of that script, the backstory for the film is far more interesting than the film itself. The battle of Jakku, the formation of the new jedi order, Luke training Han and Leia’s kid. That kid falling to the dark side etc. It’s an amateur writers mistake to not tell the most interesting part of your story.
I agree the backstory sounds more interesting than the film itself but a proper sequel to ROTJ would have been made decades ago and not now. You can’t really blame TFA for the 30 year time gap between it and ROTJ.

- Removal the TIE Fighter exploding in the sand
- Make it so that when our heroes are spotted in Maz’s Castle the First Order spy sees them and reports that she found the droid and the Resistance droid does so a minute or two later
- Trimming the on foot chase when Finn and Rey are being perused by Storm Troopers.
- Trimming the Rathtar scene
- Removal of the weirder than fuck hug between Leia and Rey
- Trimming the interrogating in the interrogation scene between Rey and Kylo Ren
- Making Snoke’s hologram obviously a hologram
- Remove helicopter shot

If TFA’s originality is the single biggest complaint then why would you think they would go about rehashing stuff (especially so overtly) from ESB? Not even TFA was that overt in it’s mirroring STAR WARS. Secondly, WRONG THREAD. And lastly, it would be a “remake” not a “reboot”.

I don’t think that’s a deleted scene but it is in the novelization.
Agreed though the second act is an 7.5/10 for me. Third act is the weakest though due to it feeling rushed.
