What didn't you like about TFA? SPOILERS

Thought this would be a good place to put this.

If not for Rey’s annoying “I don’t need no help from a MAN” attitude

You mean the fact that she doesn’t want Finn to hold her hand due to her being able to run perfectly on her own? How dare she!

Finn would be little more than a Gary Stu counterpart. His ability to fight competently with a lightsaber without any training or force sensitivity at all is insane.

Finn still got his ass kicked twice and could have been killed within 10 seconds by Kylo had he not wanted to drag the fight out…

That means fuckall. If it were that way of course you’d adjust dialogue to be about the map and not Luke and somehow put Luke somewhere else in the plot which would change things a bit. Doesn’t mean the focus of the plot wouldn’t be about the map if you changed mcguffins.

But if you want to hold that inane statement as fact. By all means but there’s no point in trying to convince you of anything; I should have learned that lesson long ago.

Yeah the ewok part of ROTJ is shitty but the movie has more to offer.

At least the Vader and Luke stuff was fucking great.

The weakness of ROTJ does not strength in any way TFA which is even weaker.

Well that’s not the only weakness. The Luke being Leia siblings thing was a cheap way of solving the love triangle and shrunk the universe and Yoda dying seemed forced. Also they never explained how Luke grew so much in strength between ESB and ROTJ; they didn’t even have a throw away line. And Death Star 2.0 is a more overt rehash than SKB.

The finale of TFA does not need furry characters to be shittier.

The only thing bad about the 3rd act of TFA is that it was rushed, the attack on SKB was eh…and Leia and Chewie don’t hug. In comparison to the silly fairy tale ending of ROTJ it was a masterpiece.

It has Rey, worst SW main character ever.

At the risk of sounding like an elitist, I will say no subsequent entry in the franchise will be as good as Star Wars and Empire.

I hope you’re wrong about that. Hell, I want Rouge One to be better than The Empire Strikes Back.

I’m perfectly happy with the OT, I don’t think we need better Star Wars films

I don’t need to have sexual intercourse with Margot Robbie but I certainly wouldn’t object to it.

and I really doubt we’ll get them.

I agree on that one. Very rarely do you get a near flawless film lile ESB.

Fair enough

ESB>>>>>TFA>SW>>>ROTJ>>>>>>>ROTS>>>>>TPM

Why do you prefer TFA over SW. Just curious?

Well let’s be clear…TFA get’s the win over STAR WARS by the slightest of margins. I have TFA at 8.2/10 and SW at 8.1/10

As to my reasons:

In terms of characters, dialogue, acting, action, a layered/compelling villain, special effects, comedy and the way it sets up Episodes XIII and IX TFA is superior and in general is a more enjoyable film to watch than STAR WARS even though it’s script is tighter.

If you took the search for Luke out of the film the film wouldn’t make any sense and wouldn’t have happened in the first place. The map is what lead the First Order and Poe to Jakku which lead to Finn defecting when he did and rescuing Poe which lead them to crash on the planet which lead him to Rey and so on and so forth. I don’t understand…

but Lord Haseo, my point about Rey is that the film gives me the impression that she is awesome at everything

I have always held the contention that she is competent in many areas but the only thing she excels at is her mechanic skills. I also think that there is a big difference between competent and awesome.

and hardly makes any mistakes or has any flaws.

She does make a couple of mistakes whereas Luke (even in SW) made quite a few more and Rey’s flaws are naivety and reluctance/fear. Fear actually being a flaw I don’t remember Luke having but in general he has more flaws as well. But Rey’s story isn’t over so there are many strengths and weaknesses that could become part of her character as she is developed in the sequels. Maybe like Anakin before her she will become pompous and and that could lead her to either turning to the Dark Side or her getting curb stomped by Kylo Ren…which is happening regardless.

And my comment about people disagreeing being objectively wrong, that was obvious sarcasm.

Hell if I know in 2016…

AOTC sucks, but I’m interested in discussing similar and opposite opinions.

I am too but there is a certain level of strange behavior PT fans exhibit when it pertains to them defending their viewpoint that makes real discussion almost meaningless.
