Why would you post a video of the Neimoidians speaking to bolster your argument when they clearly sound like a stereotypical Asian person? That’s like arguing as to why you think Han isn’t a good pilot and posting a video of the asteroid chase. It would be counterproductive if you ask me.

Luke left because he felt guilty for the destruction of his students and not because he’s whiny. Han even says as much but that’s not even the point. Luke doesn’t give up; it’s just not in his character and if they don’t write in another reason as to why he left (like training more Jedi in secret) then I can never look at the character the same way again.

Well technically she could have gone back to Jakku after everything but chooses to go to Luke to start her training. Also in STAR WARS Luke was pretty much forced to take his voyage after his Aunt and Uncle were killed seeing as how there was nothing for him.

The only conflict that Luke has is that he can’t go with Ben due to his Uncle needing him and how he’s going to go on without Ben. But there’s only like one line in which him continuing the fight without Ben will be difficult. Rey’s reluctance is a constant throughout the film.

She has a very alarming first encounter with The Force via a vision so of course she’s going to be reluctant to take it and embrace her destiny. She knows she has this power and she doesn’t know what to do with it nor does she know what to make of the conflict that is consuming the Galaxy. Especially after seeing Kylo Ren and the rest of the knights.

I think her overcoming her fear, reluctance and embracing a family of her making is her journey

To sum up: she does not do shit to earn anything,

There no initiation process when it comes to The Force. You’re literally born with it and Anakin was born of it.

When it comes to her other skills she had to earn them. She spent YEARS as a scavenger and around others who know about mechanics so that’s how her skill in that area came about, she’s decent at melee combat and with her staff because Jakku is a harsh place and she probably got a lot of beatings when she was younger but adapted. She’s a decent pilot because she has flown crafts before (but not off world) and used a flight simulator.

she does not struggle except when she’s forced to.

Well he did say main character but that doesn’t make the claim that less inane. Plus Luke and Anakin had three films to flesh them out whereas Rey has had one so I may be out of line when saying this but maybe we should wait until her arc is over before rendering judgement.
