That is not ignorant. That is being intelligent enough to hold my own opinion and not let some <insert bad word> on internet try to push their own opinion upon me.

Also this conversation isn’t about opinions; TPM has racial stereotypes. End of discussion. Just because it happens to be in a franchise you sort of like doesn’t warrant ANYONE to try to worm their way around, justify or turn a blind eye to it.

That is exactly what I meant by people trying to push their opinion on others. I cannot stand it. I am not going to acknowledge your opinion as a fact.

You being willfully ignorant because reasons doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.

Well OT has a lot of depth.

A great deal of it being in ESB.

TFA felt completely empty.

It had a bit more under the surface than SW but not ESB or ROTJ though.

I would say, while annoying, at least PT had more depth than TFA.

I agree but then again you’re comparing an entire trilogy to one movie so that’s not really a good overall point. TFA is deeper than any of the individual PT films when you compare film to film.

Well I would be interested in something alternative like that… but unfortunately majority of the intended audience likes popcorn stuff like TFA and such film would not sell.

You could say that SW and ROTJ are pretty much popcorn films too. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Star Wars are fun space movies with a bit of depth to them and that’s all you need to make a good one.

I can’t really imagine an Obi-Wan film set after ROTS without them making up any ridiculous stuff. Sonce he should have been living on Tatooine foe the entire time, I don’t think many would be interested in slice-of-life on Tatooine type of film.

They could just have the plot be about Obi-Wan protecting a settlement from criminals and/or Tusken Raiders or something.

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

Am I the only one who thought the pacing wasn’t too fast? The scene with Rey and Finn lasts a couple of minutes then Han and Chewie show up and they talk for a few minutes more then later in the film we get to Maz’s castle and that part of the film was slow too until the First Order shows up. Then there are the Hux, Kylo and Snoke scenes which are slow as well. The only part of the film that is too fast for me is the 3rd act but in general the 3rd act wasn’t as strong as the other 2.

Finn is a black dude who deserts his masters

There have been plenty of people of different nationalities throughout history who have defected from whatever faction they held to be true until they saw otherwise.

his main job was toilet cleaner

That was only his job when he was stationed on SKB

who gets a new name thanks to a white man

Oscar is from Guatemala. Also The First Order gave him the name FN-2187 and Poe gave him the name Finn as a way to acknowledge as a fellow human being/sentient.

who drinks the same water as an animal

It’s not like he was forced to by the First Order; he does it because he had a long walk through the desert and pretty much did it for survival.

and who gets beaten by Rey because he’s accused of having stolen the jacket of a white man

Supposed thievery would be bad no matter the nationality.

Are you serious?
