Unnecessary sequel

There are a lot of unnecessary but good sequels. ESB is one (since SW was a self contained story) and Rambo II was another. Just because something didn’t need to be made doesn’t mean it’s a negative against the actual film because it was made. And plus maybe it was unnecessary to you but when I was a kid me and the people I was around relished a sequel. We grew to love these characters and wanted to see more of them in a new story so on that basis alone a sequel was in no way unnecessary.

There’s stuff in the Clone Wars that I like a lot but on the whole I don’t think Ashoka makes any sense and there are some weird and silly ways they messed with continuity.

How so? That’s an obscure observation regarding Akhsoka.

Ahsoka shouldn’t exist. She was contrived for the series, and then conveniently dispatched from the Jedi order, and she is never mentioned in ROTS.

That still doesn’t really mess with the continuity but okay.

I can’t speak for everyone else but none of the things in my list conflict with each other and I have omitted stuff like the Thrawn Trilogy because it conflicts with TFA.

Its been a very long time since I read them but how so? I don’t remember anything about them being impossible to go with TFA. It was only like 5 years after rotj whereas tfa was like 20 to 25 or more.

I could have sworn Jacen and Jana were born (and named) in The Last Command

Yeah I could probably make a list of SW stuff I like that doesn’t totally contradict each other, but then there’s also the matter of believability in the universe. Specifically I’m thinking of Rebels and The Clone Wars.

Well for my timeline the Freedon Nadd/Exar Kun stuff plays a small part in Kotor and it’s sequel. From there it connects to the Revan novel then to SWTOR. The Darth Bane trilogy bleeds into Plagueis and so on and so forth.

There’s stuff in the Clone Wars that I like a lot but on the whole I don’t think Ashoka makes any sense and there are some weird and silly ways they messed with continuity.

I can understand having the OUT as one canon and the SE/Blu-Ray versions as another (granted that Hayden reprises his role as Anakin in the ST) but 3 seems like too much.

I justify not including the Special Editions/prequels by assuming that the people working on the new movies have a love for the originals similar my own love, so their head canon probably involves the unaltered originals and not the Special Editions.

I was actually speaking in general but okay.

Lots of times mental disorders only manifest/compound in the 20s.

I knew a guy who was fairly normal for the entire time I knew him, until he had a massive schizophrenic break in his mid 20s and went completely off the rails.

My half sister is schizophrenic so I know all too well about that. I think she was either 22 or 23 before she started having her delusions. I’m 21 now and every day I fear that it’ll happen to me eventually.

I’d say it’s been much better lately but it will probably get worse after Rogue One comes out and then REALLY bad again once Ep 8 comes out.

Yeah…regardless of how good or bad Episode VIII will be there will be a lot of bitching and moaning either way. I almost hope it isn’t better than TFA because that’ll just inspire contrarians/EU Fanboys etc. to look harder for stuff they didn’t like about the movie.
