As for the colour of TIE fighters, I must say it is painfully obvious that the blue colour is the bluescreen leaking, in the GOUT you can clearly see the colour flickering all over the place with plain grey underneath.

There are blue and white TIEs: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/exhibit/tie.html

Although I'm wondering now if Robot Chicken actually thought of it first.

I'm gonna check and see who posted it first. Heh heh.

Yeah, because when you're thinking about Tauntaun sleeping bag you always think about Episode V Revisited.

Info Wanted: anyone done a '93 OT VHS Preservation?

Sorry, what I meant was Laserdisc. Wookieepedia assures me it is different.

This mix, digitally remastered by Ben Burtt and Gary Summers, was supposedly a mix of the best elements of all three original mixes. However, it is primarily a fold-down of the 6-track 70mm mix, with some mono mix elements and additional elements "dialled in".

Isn't that called the GOUT?

Btw, what are the main differences with the 85 version and the original one? I think I have a video from 1994 (not a US or UK version) which I think is exactly the same as first video, with the lighter canyon shots and without added sounds to the Tantive IV door blowing scene. Sound is in stereo.

By lighter canyon shots do you mean when artoo is in the canyon, which people seem to think got darker in the 93/95 version?

Yup.

- 2.0 Stereo (1977, 1981 35mm Theatrical, early laserdiscs)

Also on rental videos before 1985. I have the first rental UK video from 83, it claims it's stereo but the sound is actually mono. (not the mono mix, but the stereo mix in mono)

The stereo mix was folded down supposedly to mono on the first issue rental betamax tape, but the vhs was in stereo.  I have also read that there was a vhs version that was rare that had the stereo folded down into mono, but have not been able to prove that claim, as i believe by this point in time most if not all vhs releases that were stereo were also mono compatible.

Like I said, I have the first rental VHS and it is in mono. Covers say stereo but it isn't.

Watching DVDs on a BD player
Time

Hi.

I just got a Samsung BD-1580 player and I've been watching many DVDs in the past week with it. Weird thing is, there seems to be moments when the picture pixalates and it may pause for a second or two, and after that showing without subtitles, you have to rewind and press play to see them again. I already once changed the player but same thing still happens on all my DVDs. It happens maybe 2-5 times during one movie. What's the problem??

I don't have any BDs to test with it, I don't even have an HDTV yet.

'04 Commentaries

It is a shame the poor man hasn't had as big of a break as Harrison Ford.

I haven't listen the commentaries since '04, either, but I remember that Kershner was by far my favorite. These movies could use different tracks like some movies, like one is a technical commentary,  one by director (well, if Lucas could stop lying, it would be interesting to know what really happened) and one by cast. Imagine a commentary by Hamill, Fisher and Ford if they were in the same room. That would be awesome.

2006 DVD OOT
Time

Does anyone know why Episode IV was removed from the DVD? I mean, it hasn't been on any video releases or anything and no one would have complained that it was there if that was the case, we would be just as happy (or unhappy) with the GOUT. It makes me wonder why dig up the scroll from somewhere and edit it to an LD craptastic video. What did LFL gain with that? Are they just showing that "we really have this on film but screw you anyways" and if so, what's the point in that?
