Thanks for joining, cool stuff! :)
Thanks for joining, cool stuff! :)
I was watching Making of SW from the Executor set and since that was made in the 70s, it still had some colors left. The lightsabers were better looking. In the wide shot on Falcon it certainly does have a greenish tint but it looked kind of like turquoise. The closer shot had a great cyan color on it and wasn't washed out like later releases. Also the duel has better colors, too.

I apologize if I'm cramming up this thread with stuff people don't want...BUT, here's one more. The Star Wars Circus poster sans text.http://img189.echo.cx/img189/2997/starwarsdnotext8ze.jpg
Is this even a real version or has someone just messed around with it? It doesn't have much color outside the circle and the suns are white.
I wouldn't say that this is a bad idea, actually I think it'd be funny as hell to replace all Vader's lines with Schwarzenegger's voice like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKEg6fJ-7P4 Man, that would be fun to watch if someone did it.

Qui-Gon is supposed to be older than Obi-Wan is in SW... Yeah, right.
He is? Where does it say that?
Neeson was in his late 40s. Guiness was 62.
According to Chewbaccapedia Qui-Gon was 60 and Obi was 57.
Qui-Gon is supposed to be older than Obi-Wan is in SW... Yeah, right.
Sorry, I misunderstood this thread, I thought we were looking for best theatrical versions, should've read more carefully. Still, isn't that the first bootleg of an original TESB? I'm not sure if there's a right thread for this, so sorry for a little OT. :P

Wow! Added. How did you come across the site? (search process notes)
He's a member on Rebelscum. I'll ask if he can join here, too.

We really really really need to find an ESB theatrical bootleg.
This guy seems to have it: http://home.online.no/~frinilse/starwarsonvideo/ Check out Betamax, others... He seems to know about OT.com, too, maybe somenone should try to contact him?
I think I may be doing cover for this but it'll be after new year.

The chances of Lucasfilm creating a new HD master of the OT is approximately 3720 to 1

What's interesting is that the droids were actually added by comic book artist Nick Cardy, apparently he also added little details to the other characters, the same last minute touch-ups were also made on Jung's half-sheet, don't know if it was from the same uncredited artist on that though, they look quite different, and IMO don't fit with Jung's art at all. The original half-sheet art is on the cover of the 1977 theater-program, I will scan it someday.
That's interesting, I hadn't notice that before. Or about the Hildebrandts' either. I also have that one with and without droids and didn't even notice it LOL. I also have the original half sheet art but it's badly cropped. But you can clearly see they've removed a lot of stars and added the droids.
But that Super 8 was the first time I actually saw the droidless style A version used.
Does anyone have Jung's artwork without the droids? Like in this one:
Also if anyone has decent scans or photos of Super 8 and 16 mm boxes, I'd be interested. :)
Finished. Strokes look funny, they aren't like that actually.
RIP. :(
Cool, thanks. I'd really love to collect SW posters but there's waay too many of them. I guess I have to continue collecting them in digital form. :P

It is the original 1980 International Three Sheet. As the name suggests the three sheets are normally approximately 3 times the size of the most common used poster, called a one sheet.
Thanks, never seen it before.

I thought the double bill was included in the package I sent you? I am almost sure I have it, I'll take a look. Nice covers BTW.
PM. :) And thanks!

Much better.
Here's something I've been making Puggo's Super8. Does anyone know what font was used for credits in SW posters (Style A, C, half sheet...)? msycamore? :P And if anyone has a high res version of the double bill, let me know.
Edit: actually I think I'm going to use UK quad for SW, too, I completely forgot I had those LOL. I'm not a fan of the half sheet.
Well, isn't the "Imperial Edition" made for GOUT? It would be easy to just slide its audio track into TESB, right?
Is this an original poster and if it is, where does it come from?

Is there even a separate 70mm mix for ROTJ? I'd say that just recreating the original mix in 5.1 would do it so then we would only miss TESB 70mm mix in 5.1.
Yes, there is. According to album editing and assembly supervisor, Michael Matessino:
Unlike Empire, there was only one difference between the 35mm and 70mm versions of Jedi: the 70mm version used the "Main Title" from Empire (referring to the music recording, not the visuals), but no one has been able to determine why.
That's interesting. Wouldn't be that hard, though, compared to Empire. :P

- In OT we have no choir in music apart ROTJ. PT have Choir in their themes more often.
There is in TESB, City in the Clouds.
