The colors seem to be identical to the first rental VHS.

Can't wait. :)

Mike, I respect your desires - you've clearly stated in the past you have no intentions of distributing your completed project. But I remain confused as to why you won't distribute this.
Also, it can be very frustrating to see your announcements and progress, knowing that it won't ever be seen by those who would appreciate and treasure it. I hope you will reconsider your stance.
Agreed, I don't understand this either. Looks cool but if it's only for you it might as well be in Lucas' hands.

So is there a list of deleted scenes that still weren't included? I'm really surprised that the section of 21B removing the mask from Luke wasn't included.
There was on the thread I started, yes.
Where's that?
Anyway, yeah, it's a shame they didn't put more deleted stuff on the discs. Another disappointment, I suppose. Just look at the massive amount of goodies on Jambe's docs and think of how much they could've added... (I'm quite surprised the scene TMBTM mentioned—Han and Leia talking about 3PO missing, including the awesome line 'you should wear girls clothes all the time'—isn't included) A couple of dozen clips, many of which are merely interesting curiosities, sure aren't going to entice more people to buy the set, especially since we know exactly what's on them.
It's on this section a little lower not that far away, not sure why there was need for another thread for this but anyways.

I just wish there was some kind of audio commentary or someone to explain to me , that after 30 years why Han's Line in EMPIRE "You could use a good kiss!" was cut from the Blue Ray? I just wanna hear some kind of logical explanation as to how deleting that line ADDS anything or IMPROVES the quality of the movie? it's like cutting out the punchline of the joke??
Does George really hate HAN SOLO that much that he needs to water down his character at every turn?
I just want to hear the rationale that went into making the decision to remove the line, because now all I hear is the gap where it used to be.
I hope this is a joke, or one hell of a audio remixing mistake!
I just heard the line on the blu ray. still there.
it's not on my blue ray copy
Do you have a full audio set up? If you're listening through stereo speakers then you won't hear all audio from certain channels. I remember watching LOTR: FOTR and there's a line from Sauron "Build me an army worthy of Mordor" which you can't hear through two channels.
I'd check my rental version but my DVD drive won't read DVDs anymore...
Maybe a little clarification would be in order, I transferred my Finnish '83 rental VHS to DVD and that probably is the same as the '82 version in the UK (which I also have on VHS but don't have any of them here now).
This does look funky. :) Colors look nice. So what's the verdict? Is this closer how SW should look like colorwise? It's interesting that this seems to be only(?) release with colors like this.

Star Wars trilogy was always my top 1 as I counted them as one. But recently ROTJ has dropped some steps... I'd say

She is captured on film forever as a big blueberry alien.
You forget, this is Star Wars we're talking about. Nothing is "forever".
I thought Star Wars was forever? But at least she's not captured on film, she's just ones and zeros.

Things i've noticed in the Blu Ray:
TPM: Lights added on back of sith probes, CGI yoda included this time. I couple more added Podrace scenes to the already added scenes.
AOTC: Just a couple expansions on scenes to show more of the envirnment.
ROTS: Nothing noticeable
ANH: When on the cliff looing out to Mos Eisly, a couple more ships are seen taking off. Added one shot with lasers coming from the Falcon in the death star escape scene. Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon call was a mix of both the Original, SE, and some added effects.
ESB: Tuan Tuans blink a couple times. The line, "You could use a good kiss" is gone. Possibly another Tie fighter/Bomber or SD added in the Empire Reveal scene.
ROTJ: Sebulba like character enters the main room in Jabba's palace while LUke is confronting Oliff. Added a scene where the Falcon flys past the bridge of the SD after the Tie Fighter crashes into it. When the SSD crashes into the Death Star, you can see the Star Destroyer fleet above. Darth Vader does the "No" line twice. Once very suttle, the other one the same as ROTS only shortened.
Are these for real? Most of these haven't been mentioned by anyone else, at least what I've seen. I don't mean the rocks and nooos of course but Han's line, added ships and scenes.

Xhonzi, I don't agree with the "ignore" category. I mean, that is more of an action rather than an opinion. I ignore the prequels, but I still hate them. Like my ex-girlfriend(s).
Perhaps change it to "indifferent"?
Exactly, I "hate" them and that's the reason I also ignore them.
I'm happy too that most of those were cut although I agree that they should have cut to less ewoks and add more bunker/Falcon action. Jerjerrod's scenes were cool and very interesting but still, a little too much.
What I don't get is the people running and carrying guns on Falcon while fighting in space? Did they have to build the gunner stations? LOL

Sucker Punch and Bitch Slap.
As i wanted to hump everything (including the camera man) in those filums.
Really? Bitch Slap has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And there was only one girl I wanted to hump so that didn't help much either.
Zombie, you might want to correct the term Blu-ray since it's misspelled there every time. :) Just a minor thing but still.

Tim Pelan from Culture Deluxe pointed out to Jambe on Twitter that all of the Stormtroopers are left-handed.
Wow.
Not all of them but that's true because of the weapon design.
I don't know why does so many people think the SEs are the only way to make money. I bet that if he would have released only the originals on DVD and BD he actually would have made MORE money.

So are all the old docs original or have they messed with them, too?
They have been messed with over the years already. "The Making of Star Wars" had William Conrad's original narration inexplicably replaced with the voice of Don LaFontaine for the mid 1990's VHS release. (Don also voiced all the '97 SE trailers and commercials.) I'm going to be really annoyed if Conrad's voice isn't on there.
"SPFX: The Empire Strike Back" had some Disney movie clips cut for all known past home video releases. (Presumably they couldn't be cleared for home video.) This also affected some of Mark Hamill's narration. A 1980's U.K. broadcast recording posted to youtube proves I didn't hallucinate them. ;)
"Classic Creatures: Return of the Jedi" has never been cut to the best of my knowledge. Hopefully, all the non SW clips have been cleared again.
I was aware on some of those already but what I really meant was that did they cut something out so it would match George's grand vision 2011. I don't remember what they had in them but if they talked about Luke's trilogy, 9 movie saga or that George doesn't know what's going to happen.
So are all the old docs original or have they messed with them, too?
They look a lot like mine which are still on hold, LOL. Nice.

dark_jedi, any more thought given to uploading the new encodes? I've got v3 ready to burn, but I don't want to waste the discs if a even better version is coming.
Thanks,
ST
You may as well go ahead and burn them, I am only thinking about doing this, most may not want to, or know how to, swap out the video, plus I am not done yet with ESB, and I may go back and do a few more tweaks on SW and ROTJ, but just not 100% sure yet, so even if I did decide to do it, it is going to be a while before it is done.
I say go for it if it's not too much trouble. :)
Congrats! :)
I saw the boxes today in a store, they were still sitting under a service table waiting for Monday. I had to take a peek and the covers looked almost worse in person. The trilogy cover arts look already dated. Steve Anderson made that kind of art in the mid 00s, probably made these too and style hasn't changed a bit.
I'd be happy if they only released TPM and it would fail. At least then we could avoid more changes to the OT.
Probably I wouldn't buy it if they didn't include anything new or exclusive extras. I have the originals already and I can watch them any time I want.
