Batman vs Superman: DOJ thread? (contains spoilers)
Time

I really hated Man of Steel, it’s probably the worst movie IMO I have seen in a theatre and one of the worst movies I’ve seen. But still, Batman and Superman are my two favorite comic book characters and pretty much the only ones I like, so there was no doubt I was going to see this movie.
So, hating MoS and seeing the movie was rated one star by Metro, my expectations were probably the lowest ever when going to see a film. And because of that, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t expecting a good representation of Superman or Batman, but Cavill is a pretty good Superman in this and Affleck is one of the best, if not the best movie version of Batman. Wonderwoman and Alfred were good too. Lex… not so much but there were a few okay moments. To me, there hasn’t been a good Lex on the screen at all yet, so this isn’t anything new. Yeah, there were stupid moments and all that but I felt entertained. The fight scene was well made and I really got a kick out of it. The movie just was 30min too long, Doomsday shouldn’t have been there at all and Superman’s death was pointless and didn’t have any impact.
All in all, way better than I thought as superhero entertainment, I’ll most likely pick this up from a bargain bin unlike MoS, but as a film or art or whatever, not really, but I think that was expected.

Change Boba and Jango to two generic unnamed Mandalorians, and you’re correct.

As for the size, I can’t help that; all those damn SW wikis seem to automatically re-size their images to teeny-tiny size for some godless reason.

Since it’s a jpg you just give the jpg: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/darth/images/6/6f/11402591_847500411990994_2779500743547761462_o1.jpg

Has anyone listened to this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Shadows_of_the_Empire_(soundtrack) ? It has some very good themes that line right up with some of John Williams’ songs, I really like “Night Skies” and the ending of “The Destruction of Xizor’s Palace”

I have, it’s fine I guess but I personally didn’t really love it or think it was even close to JW.

not my fault people are attacking left and right on my OPINIONS of just a MOVIE. Sorry if it got to your feelings.

Over-react much? This is a weird thread, better lock it down if someone doesn’t like something in the movie, OMG!

Seems like you’re the one who’s in your feelings mate.

The latter quote was sarcasm mate.

Seriously, who could possibly care? There’s no sound in space either. It’s a movie, not a documentary.

Yeah Silverwook, he wants you to calm down.

WRONG TARGET

Of course mods are not your targets, ever. 😉

I just posted a pic, not my fault people are attacking left and right on my OPINIONS of just a MOVIE. Sorry if it got to your feelings.

I don’t tend to get too fussed about the amount of time that passed between the escape from Hoth and the heroes’ arrivals at Cloud City. After all, if I did that, I’d remember that it should take a few million years for Han and Leia to get to Bespin without a hyperdrive.

Exactly. But if you want to rationalize things, they could have been couple of weeks on the asteroid fixing things and waiting, traveling to Bespin could have taken a couple of weeks, the time in Bespin before Vader’s dinner could have taken a few days, between the dinner and carbon freezing could have taken a few days… So if you reeeally want to stretch it out, there can be 2 months in there.

I figured that matte appearance was due to Daniels’ new costume and was perhaps supposed to show off age or refinishing, etc., but then I saw this clip of him at the Oscars just now, and he’s as shiny as ever.

… and no red arm ! So the movie version for EpVII might be different after all (doesn’t excuse the fake looking though).

Yup.

There are plenty of other people who agree with me, and some have said so publicly. But more importantly, Jay made the rules, so maybe you should bitch at him instead of me.

Agreeing and bitching about it everywhere are two different things. I did not say that I don’t agree with others or the rules. I was questioning your questions “why this” and “why that” and the reason behind your continuos complaining even after they got banned.

I just think it’s weird that the person who hated them the most is most vocal in this thread about them that does not concern that person in the least. You got what you wanted, you should be happy.

Who was posting the info or views? Who was speaking with the team’s voice? Why did they need to use a team account to post their views outside of their projects?

N1 was not banned IIRC, he could have easily posted things that weren’t about the projects with his own account. But he hid behind the team account…why? To what end?

And why the team account anyway? Harmy doesn’t need one. adywan doesn’t need one. Team Blu didn’t need one. No one needed one. Do any of us know who N1 actually is? What difference does it make if he posts with his own account instead of the team account - how does that threaten his anonymity?

Who the fuck gives a shit except you? Why does it matter to you is it Joe or Jack or -1 or +1 writing? What difference does it make to you if it’s N1 or TN1? Yeah that’s very confusing when only one account posts the stuff… Not.
Why do you hide behind your fake user name, anonymously? Since you are/were so pissed about the team account why do you hang in their threads or read their posts and mocked them in OT etc. You should follow your own advice and leave if you don’t like how the forum is (was) run.

So this all came about because someone who owns an original print had a scan of it made and someone else has a copy of the scan that person paid for afterward. Yet the one who owns the original print STILL owns an original print. A PHYSICAL print.

It must be a western idea but I really do not see what the problem is here. It’s hard to digitally lay claim to ownership of something without a digital watermark from the beginning. Yeah they paid for it to be scanned but really what were they planning to do with it after it was scanned? Sit on it and pass it on to their children? To do what? Continue to sit on it?

Maybe it’s good I missed all the drama of the past few weeks. Longtime lurker here.

I get that the main point of this post is just to say you’re unaware of what is going on. But yes, you are absolutely unaware of everything that has gone on, why it is important, what the intentions are for the prints and scans in question, and why those involved are concerned about unforeseen distribution of those materials. And I think most of those aspects have been discussed today as well as throughout the weekend, so the answers should be fairly near the surface if you’re looking to be a bit more informed. Writing it off as a western thing would be another option.

What I don’t get about this is that it technically wasn’t TN1’s fault.

Nope.

If I know you are completely untrustworthy, and I give you a gun, and you shoot someone, that in no way absolves you from guilt.

Nor you.

Excuse me if I’m missing something, but since no one who “owns” a print of Star Wars actually legally “owns” it (since they all belong to Fox/Disney), why exactly is the person who loaned the Technicolor scan upset? I can understand if he or she is worroed because a scan of that print could be traced back and thus face legal repercussions from Fox/Disney. But if it’s something other than that…well, frankly: what right does that person have to keep such a thing to him or herself when none of what we’re talking about here is strictly “legal”?

As far as I understand (from what I’ve read on the forum), someone paid (I assume quite a fair amount of money, since scanning prints isn’t cheap) to have that print scanned. And then someone else gave those scans away, without that person’s (the guy who had it scanned) permission.

That’s not proper conduct. legal or not.

So why isn’t the person who passed it on not the one being blamed and outted? Is it because that person is in a more important position than tn1 and outing them would cause more harm to Mike’s current progress than outing an unknown team of people? I’m still confused.

Well, Mike passed it on first and I don’t think we know if the owner of the prints gave permission to even that.
