The only thing I think could really fit an alt PT thing would be the Kenobi series, since it follows a main character from one trilogy, and a prominent secondary character from the other.

It also kinda sorta fits with this brief description at about 4:14 in with what Mark says, but with Leia instead of Luke and a bit older, if someone wanted to tackle the prequels from that earlier concept angle.

His voice, however, does sound a little bit off, or is that just me?

The BTS doc for Mandalorian S2’s finale explained his voice is completely AI generated, and it stuck out a lot to me. Really odd that they don’t just get a VA, but the AI also really sounded spot on a few times. I’m not sure how to feel about it tbh. Huge shoutout to Shamook off of YouTube, assuming he had a hand in Luke’s deepfake this time around.

I don't think Revenge Of The Sith is as good as everyone says it is.

I didn’t mean to say all movies are equal, just that people are more forgiving of flaws in the movies they like, for whatever reason, but more critical of similar flaws in another they may not be a fan of, for whatever reason.

This. I’ve never really disliked ROTS because I grew up with it so I’m completely biased. I will say that as an annoying contrarian, I used to revel in the fact that I liked something that everybody else I talked to hated, but now I like it less and less with the sudden popularity the past few years. The memes are so annoying to me personally that every time I hear them in the movie it makes me want to do a fanedit to remove all of them in spite. Hot take, the memes aren’t funny.

Chronological Marvel (No Spiderman Spoilers, Yes Endgame Spoilers) (* unfinished project *)

I would use the comicboard.com I refered to above for any timelines questions you have such as specific dates. I’m not saying the wiki is wrong, but in my opinion there’s more precise research and dedication from the people on comicboard and I’ve been using their timeline forever. I personally want to one day do a chronological edit of legitimately everything MCU including the shows but I’m too poor to own all of it at the moment. I cut together the S5 finale of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Infinity War whenever the latter was released on digital and I haven’t done anything with it whatsoever in the two+ years since I cut it.

Concept for my previous idea:

  1. Open on Rey to establish her as POV character
  2. Random vision of the Star Destroyer crash to establish her power
  3. Partial vision of BB-8’s backstory so that the mystery is in the other direction

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI909HCDf9s&feature=youtu.be

I really dig it. Especially the sound effects. I would probably intercut more of the massacre over Poe’s lines like how you did the star destroyer flashback.

Unrelated, here’s my pretty useless pitch for anybody who wants to try. I wanted to know if anybody has the super ability to rotoscope Kylo’s crossblades out of everytime he ignites his saber, and then the moment you actually see them ignite in the film is the shot from the first teaser in the forest that they removed. For people that watch VII for the first time without seeing the trailers, they see the crossblades from the get go and think “oh cool…” but the way it was presented to us in the trailer was this huge thing akin to Maul’s double lightsaber. I thought it’d be cooler, but again it’s an almost pointless edit.

If I had more free time and an actual computer then I’d go all out on recoloring Exegol, because I could probably do it fairly okay. Hopefully somebody carries this further. I’m just not sure how anybody could recolor Jonh’s force ghost edit well enough to keep the blue in them unless he were to redo the effects himself with his assets over a recolor.

I’m on and off on the forum this year due to no time to look through countless messages, but I posted my super quick nightsister green mist Exegol clip way back in April. It’s not the best but it’s still the only attempt I’ve seen on this forum unless I’ve missed something. It got taken down so I had to reupload it.

If anybody actually wants to see more green, please give this a go and make it look better. In a perfect world, the temple structure would be red and only the fog would be green without looking like a coloring book.

Correct me if I’m wrong and apologies if this derails the conversation, but I thought Sheev’s son was said to be a clone made from Sheev’s DNA and someone else’s, which made him more of a son instead of a straight up clone. Because he would genetically be an offspring of two people. I distinctly remember seeing that and thinking how redundant it was to make him Sheev’s son without actual conception just to remove ick factors. He’s already a slimy, creepy old man. I’m shocked there aren’t dozens of Palpatines out there. How could you possibly be an evil overlord and not sleep with a single person?

Been away for a bit, but wanted to ask if anybody has thought about turning the old woman at the end into Watto for shits and giggles. I have no reason for wanting to see this. None whatsoever.

If I had to pull something out of my ass, maybe Watto’s secretly been watching over the homestead out of guilt ever since Anakin showed up asking for his mother, and when the Lars got crispy and Luke pissed off he decided to wait around hoping for somebody to return - similar to Rey - showing Rey’s beyond that now and Watto got his comeuppance for being the slave owner indirectly responsible for Anakin’s downfall.

Again, no reason other than thinking it’d be neat for a few seconds and not an actual improvement for the film.

I don’t think Leia’s directly projecting Han’s image to Ben, I think it’s just in his head like they say. I just personally think it’s clear that Leia’s the trigger for the whole scene. I’m not great with words so I’m not sure if I’m describing this correctly! I am completely on board with all three of them playing a part in saving Ben and think it would be a touching way for the original trio to “reunite” altogether. If only Chewie had more scenes involving Ben.

Well when Kylo does have the flashes of Han dying he does hear Luke say “you killed him.” Granted it’s reused from ESB but there’s still an element of Luke contacting him I think. Maybe have that line ring in Kylo’s head throughout the movie?

I think giving the Han/Ben scene to Luke kinda discredits Leia’s purpose there. In original scene, Leia wants to save her son so she grabs Han’s old medal and sacrifices herself to reach out to him. Han’s presence is her doing, and she would likely be there beside Han had Carrie Fisher not passed. If Luke’s the reason Ben sees Han, Leia just kind of dies and that’s it. Unless there’s a way to maybe have it explicitly obvious that Luke is helping Leia reach out to Ben? I’m not sure, but I do like the idea I’m just not really sold on it.

Maybe take the “I have been every voice you have ever heard inside your head” further too. Hearing whispers of Palpatine (or his best Vader impression) over Kylo - especially when he’s about to have his rage attacks - would really drive in that message that Ben’s been haunted and manipulated by Sheev forever. Hearing the voices in his head could be the main thing setting him off to lash out if they built up along with his movements.

I really like it! I’m personally split on adding anything to the Kylo/Vader scene because on one hand I think it’s really powerful to have Kylo be the only speaker so the audience is always wondering what he’s hearing, but on the other it’s a great way to to reinforce his motives like you say.

I’ve thought it would be rather interesting to find lines that Palpatine shares with Snoke and kind of have them bleed into each other every once in a while, since Palpatine is a literal puppeteer for Snoke. Since he’s in such a weak state it would make sense that he can’t maintain the Snoke voice all the time.

I just wanted to point out that at 1:09 in your rescore, an almost identical piece plays in Han & Qi’ra’s love theme at 1:05.

https://youtu.be/wummwZCt5s0?t=65

I’m not a music expert other than just enjoying scores a whole lot so I don’t know if that’s a common piece for love songs or anything, but it’s a nice parallel to Han’s doomed romance since Reylo doesn’t exactly end all cheery. Maybe incorporating more of Solo’s tracks would make it more impactful.
