Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

And that's why I have a problem with him. Joining a collaborative community like ours comes with some adaption in behaviour. To me the OT.com community has always been about sharing and helping each other out. If I have something that can make someone else's project better, I'm happy to help out. And as far as I can tell that's pretty much how this whole community works. Need a missing audio track off a release that's not seeded anymore? Someone uploads it! Need something scanned? Done! My impression was, that this is something that's natural for projects like this.

Why do you need to increase your collection before you can help someone out? I don't really see the connection here...

Here's a sampler of the intro to Star Wars (Harmy 2.1) with scroll text in Spanish, as seen in Latin America in 1977. still work to do ... but it's a start. I think I can finally have STAR WARS as I saw as a child thanks to Harmy ... May the force be with you with version 2.5!!

I hope you're still planning to release those dubs!

Only, if you release something he needs.

Whoops, I just realized it's that prick again. Don't know, why I tried to help him out... must've been a reflex.

Well, there's a lot wrong with your version...

First of all, you've used all the wrong fonts. The Lucasfilm logo has to use "FuturaLT Bold", "A long time ago..." has to use "TradeGothic Bold No. 2" and the crawl has to use "NewsGothic Bold". The SW logo starts way too big, is missing it's black fill and the words are all at the same size (while in the original GUERRA and GALAXIAS are bigger then the rest). You've used a font for the SW logo, which is never a good idea, as it doesn't include the correct "joints" between letters. Also the crawl is stretched way too much and everything is missing that "optical composition" look with gate weave and bleeding edges.

Have a look:

I will upload all my international intros soon, so that people can use them in their projects.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**

At least he's got John Williams on board to make things *sound* good again, if all else fails.

But then we would just have the prequels again... those had great scores by Williams as well, and it didn't help.

But you're right, I'd rather take a bad movie with a great new Williams soundtrack than a bad movie with another Hans Zimmer soundtrack.

Regarding Harrison I think "Crystal Skull" is probably a template for the way they might handle his age (and hopefully not a template for anything else). Although I've gotta say that there were a few too many "bumbling around" moments for Indy, I preferred that they pretty much had comments about his age come from other characters than him (and then have him kick ass to prove them wrong).

The bumbling qualities of Han were only introduced with ROTJ, which was a bit more lighthearted in that regard, but it's hard to say how much of this should be kept. It's kinda like Marcus Brody turning from a smart-yet-too-old-for-adventure character in Raiders to a bumbling idiot in Crusade... just because it happened, doesn't mean it was the right choice for the character.

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!

It would have made a refreshing change if Piett had rammed the Death Star with the Executor to save his fleet from the Emperor blowing up Endor.

A giant city sized dart cutting into the exposed (and now unshielded) unfinished side of the station would have been more unexpected than the Rebels blowing up shit again.

It would have looked good too and paved the way to peace talks.

Really? You prefer the simplicity of the first movie but then you want to break out of the clear black/white/bad/good scheme and introduce a twist like this? C'mon...

Krieg der Sterne - Despecialized Edition 2.7 (German) (Released)
Time

UPDATE (February 13th, 2017)

The German Krieg der Sterne - Despecialized Edition is now at version 2.7 as well, thanks to towne32 and his Color Adjustment Project of Harmy’s DeEd. Aside from towne’s complete color overhaul this version features new Lucasfilm and Es war einmal… title-cards (based on a German 35mm scan by poita), as well as a new German crawl with a revised Krieg der Sterne logo made by me.

There are no changes to the audio-side of things, so to see what’s included you can read the original post below.

ORIGINAL POST:

It‘s finally done! The complete German Krieg der Sterne - Despecialized Edition 2.5

Based on Harmy’s Star Wars - Despecialized Edition 2.5 (and utilizing his lossless raw footage, thanks Harmy!) we’ve tried to re-construct the German theatrical experience from 1978 as closely as possible. This includes German title cards, opening crawl and Greedo subtitles, as well as the complete German end credits to the film.

Adding to that we’ve included a variety of German audio tracks, first and foremost a GOUT-based stereo track with missing material (spoken lines, music cues, sound effects) re-inserted, to mimic the theatrical audio experience from 1978. Furthermore we’ve added two Laserdisc-based stereo tracks, both from the 1993 SilverScreen Edition and the 1995 THX release. Finally a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track, edited from the 2011 Blu-ray release, tops off the German audio tracks. English 5.1 (by hairy_hen) and Monomix tracks are also included, as well as a score-only track containing only John Williams’ soundtrack to the film. German and English subtitles are included as well, thanks to Catbus’ Project Threepio.

Also, thanks to chyron8472, a torrent for this is available at Myspleen.
