Hal, will you release a .mp4 (“Tiny encode”) or 720p file for V1? (sorry if this has already been asked).

So thrilled!!!
Legends Sith Lords also make the most of the “cool evil name” trend: Sadow, Darth Ruin, Tenebrous, Nihilus, Phobos, Vengean, Desolous, etc.
As for silly names I’d also nominee Mercurial Swift (though granted, that was a pseudonym), General Loathsome from the Clone Wars pilot movie, and all those Abednedo extras in the sequels named after Beastie Boys songs: Ello Asty, Brasmon Kee, Slowen Lo, etc.
I think having the Falcon’s interior look like it’s in hyperspace is very important, it’s a pretty glaring mistake, I’m surprised none of the special editions have bothered to fix it.
I went back and found what Adywan did with the hyperspace tunnel. That’s a very easy fix, especially with the static cockpit; I can matte out the windows and replace the background. Plus it would be in 4K.
EDIT: I did something similar in the blade runner n-7 cut. Here I matted out windows of the spinner to add clouds: https://streamable.com/8gwf19
If you can do this it would be perfect. This is one of the most jarring genuine errors in the original and it’s good to hear it’s not difficult to do.
If The Mandalorian continues to impress at this level, it may eventually become my favorite Star Wars of all, even more so than the movies.
Definitely up there with Star Wars and Empire for me. It’s simple enough storytelling, and that’s part of why it’s so compelling. The parent and child dynamic is so quintessential to Star Wars, except now it feels more relevant to real life.
The Clone Wars finale, the Star Wars Rebels finale, and Rogue One are my other favourite pieces of Disney era content and as a matter of fact they’re ALL ‘up there’. If you ask me, it’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan.
I really agree with this. The last four episodes of TCW were top-tier Star Wars.
In order of personal liking this would be my ranking. Though I unironically enjoy aspects of all of them, even the lowest-ranked ones. I like living at peace with the franchise.
1- Empire Strikes Back (my favorite and the best one)
2- A New Hope
3- Revenge of the Sith
4 - Rogue One
5 - Return of the Jedi
6 - Force Awakens
7 - Solo
8 - The Last Jedi
9 - The Rise of Skywalker
10 - Attack of the Clones
11- Phantom Menace
I guess you mean his personality.
Nono, I just mean visually.
I think changing the flamboyant gold robes to black would go along way.
I was thinking the complete opposite. I’d make his robes in TFA bright purple, to match his flamboyant appearance in TLJ.
Yeah, this would contribute to further distancing Snoke from a Palpatine archetype and maybe retcon a connection between him and the over-the-top garments of the Imperial counselors in ROTJ.
I think Poe’s recklessness was established well enough in The Last Jedi.
I was just going to say that. Let’s pretend the characters had a minimum of evolution since the previous film.
It tells a lot about the strengths of “The Mandalorian” that a breather episode where very little happens to progress the main narrative still manages to be pretty good overall.
Maybe I got a bit too hyped with the prospect of the ice planet being Ilum, but having gotten over that debunked theory, it was a well-made episode with a surprising amount of focus on subtle character development.
I liked the more nuanced aspects of this chapter, with Mando questioning his adherence to his code and diving more into its “nature vs nurture” theme, probably foreshadowing how Baby Yoda is going to follow the steps of his “step-father” whether that’s a good thing or not.
All the visuals were breathtaking and the CGI work on the krykna spiders (or at least I’m gonna pretend it’s a subspecies of krykna, seeing how they are inspired by the same concept art as the ones from Rebels) was so well done that at some points I couldn’t tell if the creatures were fully digital or practical with CGI enhancements.
As a small detail, I liked that Jawas have yellow eyes again.
I have a couple of questions!
This whole thing is looking neat. I’m very hyped to watch your renewed version of the space battle.
Well you’ll have to get very creative to explain how a former Galactic capital home to trillions is now an unreachable MacGuffin (unless you get rid of the wayfinder hunt subplot somehow). It would be easier to pretend Exegol is Korriban.
The Exegol in AOTC sounds interesting…
Agreed with this. It’s great how the prequel stuff fits in the “used future” aesthetic of the originals. Actually I’d love if any of the TV shows dares to take on Coruscant or any other urban planets but with a classical OT-like feel.
I’d like to have a link too!
Luuke Skywalker
That was very stupid indeed, and along with the clone of Jorus C’baoth, practically ruined The Thrawn Trilogy. I mean cloning itself is a stupid concept for something like Star Wars, and clones with force powers are beyond stupid.
Well cloning in SW was pretty much on the table since '77 when the Clone Wars were first name dropped, but yeah the way it was done left a lot to be desired, kind of a letdown for the otherwise enjoyable Thrawn trilogy.
The guy at the end definitely has to be Boba Fett. All the other clones of Jango look all like grandpas by the time this series takes place, due to their accelerated aging. All that scarring on Boba’s face is likely for two reasons: a) to conceal Temuera Morrison’s age, b) hinting that getting out of the sarlacc and wandering on Tatooine ever since did take quite a toll on Boba.
Jedi Master Baytes from Legends lol . Also from the EU, Empress Teta’s name is quite unfortunate to say out loud for us Spanish speakers.
From canon, I’d say Ima-Gun-Di (a living spoiler). And I know he’s a cult character but Porkins, too.
Rey wasn’t using a mind probe, she used a mind trick. You know, the same ability Obi-Wan used on that stormtrooper.
I believe Brewster means that moment when Kylo tries to mind probe her but it backfires and its Rey who instead goes inside Kylo’s mind and reveals his inner fear.
From the Legends continuity it would be, in no particular order:
From the new canon it would be the Inquisitor sabers every time they are used to fly.
I swear I didn’t want to know there was Hutt content of this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pornography
Also I find funny how the Holiday special’s recycled footage led to this: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Unidentified_Moradmin_Bast_look-alike
There is also the literal easter eggs: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Easter_egg

Amazing episode, on par with the best Season 1 had to offer. Love how it went full-out Western.
It really benefitted from an expanded runtime and I didn’t feel there was unnecessary padding at all.
The return to Tatooine was done much better and felt more organic than in Season 1. Other than the brief return to Mos Eisley, almost everything was new. And I loved how they built on the humanization of the Tuskens that was briefly touched upon back in the earlier episode. I can’t believe I’ve just felt bad about Tuskens being killed! This series does mostly great when relying in nostalgia and familiarity, but I love it even more when it dares to take this familiar elements and does new things with them in a way that still makes complete sense and doesn´t feel forced. The sequel trilogy should take note regarding that last part.
Cobb Vanth was likable and well-acted, and I liked how they covered his backstory in broad strokes. Is he the first canon EU character to make the jump to live action? Because it sets a good precedent for more to come.
I really liked the krayt dragon, it has become of my favorite Star Wars creatures. Not what I expected physically, but still awesome. I recall it was established that two subspecies of krayt exist, meaning this has to be the greater one.
The cinematography was stunning and blows literally any other TV production out of the water. The krayt dragon battle was so engaging and immersive that I almost didn’t notice the episode changed its aspect ratio at one point.
I was expecting Boba Fett to appear at some point but his appearance still drove me crazy and hyped for more. I really hope they finally will make Boba a fleshed-out, sympathetic yet badass character, the same way they brought back Maul and made him better than before.
This could make an interesting concept. It may explain the vision Rey experiences after touching Anakin’s lightsaber, and her “This dagger has done horrible things” remark upon holding Ochi’s blade.
If you happen to restore #5 please do it with “story of Skywalker”. The theatrical line makes it look like Palpatine is more concerned about the rebels than the Jedi, and sounds even more out of place with the addition of the Force ghosts.
Man, pretty good work with Vader’s fortress there! Hopefully it could be taken to the next level and have the castle show some signs of decay, but I love it in its current form!
According to wookiepedia, Maul takes over Mandalore in early 19 BBY, so that probably means child Din Djarin was rescued around 20 BBY. His rescue must have happened after the Death Watch broke up ties with the Separatists (as depicted in Clone Wars), but likely way before they alligned with Maul.
The CW episode “A friend in need” might be set around the time Din was rescued, since the Death Watch are depicted as openly opposing the Separatists by that point.
This would pose several interesting questions. Did the Mando warrior who took Din with him support Maul, Bo-Katan, or was he minding his own business? Where was Din during the siege of Mandalore?
I’d love a link too! This sounds interesting
