Yes it does...in a way. The new SW films have digital effects and horrible dialogue. The originals have (or had) miniatures and optical effects and classic dialogue.

I disagree. Saying they have horrible dialog is your opinion. In my opinion the dialog is the same style of the original movies. Digital effects look more realistic to me then models. Model aliens look so still and lifeless. Digital technology moves in such a lifelike way that just seems more natural to me.

Wow, Jimbo grasped the concept of opinion. I disagree with his assessment, but this is an improvement. ^_^

It's official...

Ric, Reg, those have to be the most well-thoughtout arguments on the issue I've read. Personally, I truly have no stance on it. It's not something I think about. However, I do want the point out the civility of the discussion. It proves that two people can have a deeply personal debate without attacking others. People like jimbo could learn a thing or two from you guys.

Dear Lord, there were more of them. I skimmed it and was disgusted. If by "after awhile" you mean after the first post asked the question, yes, it was insane. The whole thing seemed an excuse for both sides to go at each other's jugulars.

Finally, his opinion on something. People can try to justify the change until the cows come home. What they can't explain is why he looks so pissed off. He's glaring at Luke and Leia. Also, could we please stop suggesting that Vader is undead? It takes all of the emotion out of his struggle with Luke, and his redemption. If Lucas makes he literally dead at the end of III, it will destroy a huge part of the Star Wars' story and impact.

Remembered a few more gems.

Adams: "Franklin did this, and Franklin did that. Benjimen Franklin smote the ground, and out popped George Washington. Fully grown and on his horse. He then electrified him with his lightning rod. Then the three of them, Franklin, Washington, and the horse, conducted the entire revolution siglehandedly. "
Franklin: "I like it."

"Of course a revolution is legal when it's in the first person, such as 'OUR rebellion'. It's only when it's in the third person, 'THEIR rebellion', that it becomes illegal."

OT.com is so loved....

Gee, that thread looks so much more sane than what we loonies often discuss. Don't pay this any mind. Nothing is more childish than talking about people behind their collective back. Especially when they act like they're so much better even when slinging insults at one another. I have the impression through my browsing that that is one of the most hostile boards around. I'd take lunacy over pig-headedness anyday. However, since I'm not a member over there, I won't stoop to their level and liebel everyone there based on an impression. Facism.com my ass. At least we don't hate SE fans only because they like the SE. We didn't ask to be blacksheep.

I have so many, I can't remember them all.

Car alarm -"Stand back, you are too close. Stand back, you are too close. This is your final warning. Stand back now." <alarm sounds> The alarm is ripped out of the car. "No, my mistake. You can stand as close as you want. In fact, take the car!" The alarm is crushed and tossed to the ground. "Oh Lord, I've fallen, and I can't get up."

"Hardware Wars - You'll laugh, You'll cry, You'll kiss three bucks goodbye!!"

"Alex Rogan: Teriffic. I'm about to get killed a million miles from nowhere with a gung-ho iguana who tells me to relax.

Grig: Death is a primitive concept; I prefer to think of them as battling evil - in another dimension!"

"Don't worry, I'll have it all figured out once we reach the Frontier"
Alarms go off
"What's that?"
"The Frontier.'

"She won't answer her helm. We're being pulled into the moon's gravitational field!"
"What do we do?!"
"We die."

"Freedom? We already have it. Fame? Nah, it's an empty purse. Count it, and go broke. Eat it and go hungry. Seek it, and go mad."

"They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales."
"I suppose they told you that."
"The hell they did."
"Riight"

"If you go to Zah-ha-doom, you will die. "

"PROTOCULTUUUREE!!!!"

"Hey, Ted. Don't fear the reaper."

"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? And where you should not. For my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is, too. Life creates it; Makes it grow. It's energy surrounds us; and binds us. Luminous beings are we. Not this crude matter. You must feel the Force flow through you. Between you, me, the tree, everywhere. Even between the land, and the ship."

"I don't believe it!"
"That, is why you fail."

Got the DVDs Today
Time
I saw some of ANH at Good Guys today. The colors were oversaturated in some cases(must...not...stare at escape pod hatch. Must...focus...on characters. ^_^). I skipped to the battle of Yavin to see about that fanfar, and I just couldn't believe it. The store display was booming. THe bass shattering, yet this fanfair was all but inaudiable. It changes the mood horribly. I can't believe they would mix it down that much.

My Spleen requires regestration to control leechers, that's all. Basically, it to get people to agree to share. Bittorrent is the most painfully simple programs in the P2P group. All you have to do is install a client(I recommend Azureus or BitTornado, though any none base program is great), click the link, and the download is just like clicking a web based file. It's not hard at all, and much better than eMule, and simpler than DC++ and IRC.
