SW Books Question
Time
Asha, there were no Emperor clones in Zahn's novels. TheSessler is correct in saying it was Dark Empire. THere's also a radio drama version I've been trying to hunt down.

As for Vector Prime, it wasn't bad. I'm up to Balance Point in the New Jedi Order, but I took a break from Star wars novels(considering I made it to Hero's trail when it was released, it's a pretty long break). Personally though, I think Stackpole's books added so much to the series that they're my favorite of the five I've read fully. The parts with Elegos Akala gave much depth to the Vong, and I'd love to recreate the Ithor duel in a fanfilm.

Anakin's Father...
Time
What he meant was that explaining the Force removes some of the mystery about it. All we knew was that it was an energy field and that, somehow, a chosen few could hear it. Now we know that it's in our blood and know exactly why we have the chosen. It's like the difference between believing in the existence of God, and meeting him. Plus, if it's been proven that those with more midiclorians are Force sensitive, why are there those like Han who don't believe when there's documented scientific proof to the contrary?

As for Palpatine creating Anakin, I'm still undecided on that. It just seems like it creates more questions than answers.

Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion
Time
The biggest thing for me would be the removal of the droid voices. Seeing these lumbering Super Battle driods have squeaky voices just damages any menace they had.

Maybe find a way to insert the idea that Grievous is Maul. If it can be done in a believable way. If not, find some other way to increse his threat.

If anything can be done to slow Anakins turn, any scenes after, "What have I done" where Palpatine convinces he's doing the right thing would help. The Removal of the line might help otherwise.

I agree on possibly moving up the Yoda duel. It did break the moment the first time I saw it, and It's still a bit sudden on the second time.

IMPS Chapter 1 (a.k.a. Troops 2)
Time
Well this released on the 18th so I grabbed it. I remember seeing early footage over three years ago at a convention. I'm in the middle of it at the moment and so far, I like what I'm seeing. For a fanfilm the special effects are great for the most part. The early all-sfx stuff without live action really looks good. Only the stuff meshed with live tends to look fake. Still it's better than most. I like the original ship designs a lot. The nose art and other detailing on the ships give them a nice human touch that gives a more realistic feel to troopers stuck on a ship for long periods. I really gives it a distinctiveness. The music's pretty good so far too. I haven't really gotten into the plot yet, so I can't comment on that yet. So far, I think this is already better than that overhyped Revelations. The fleet arriving at Davenport Gateway was highly impressive.

That's pretty much the idea that turns me off to the concept. I enjoy the film experience. I've never been bothered by any defects in the film. I've watching a movie, not the format it's on. I go to a theatre to see a film, not a glorified DVD.

Still, if you enjoy it, more power to ya. ^_^

Episode 3 was disappointing on many levels...

Just to clearify, I was referring to "Fuck the Originals...". Just seems odd given this site's focus.

Symbolism in ROTS
Time
Funny you say that. When I mentioned Evangelion I precisely meant the Christian visuals. They are officially in the series because they looked cool. The creators even outright said that had they known it would have such a following outside Japan, they wouldn't have used it. Even with it debunked as having no meaning to the show, some people still put the symbolism into their interpetations(which are usually wildly wrong because of it). There's one guy who claims to be an authority and insists that it's all Babylonian myth, of which there's maybe one actual reference and flies in the face of known facts(the clain that the Eva's were designed after Babylonian Gods when they are specifically stated to be inspired by oni). Still others have even theorized that it's one big metaphor for sex. My point is, it can be far to easy to read too deeply into something. Though the reverse is true as well.

Symbolism in ROTS

I'll have to pay attention to that scene next time I watch it then.

As for the number, maybe it really was at random. If it's one thing being an Evangelion fan has thaught me, it's that sometime we fans put far more meaning into something that was originally meaningless. Still, I suppose it could be possible, but I somehow doubt he meant for use to ponder the significance of the number.

I think it's been long known that some of this is inspired by Christianity. The whole things heavy on mythical and theological influences. The themes are so simple and basic though that one hardly notices.

Where does Luck say that exactly?

Isn't it possible that 66 was choosen just because it sounded good? I don't think it dictates Bilical reference being as vague as it is.

My review of Episode III (minor, minor spoilers)
Time
I really don't see the problem with that line of thought. As I've said, it's not a big issue with me, and is not something I wish to get into a petty arguement over. I'm not really bothered by the virgin birth to deny it if it were really confirmed, but that's how my mind tends to sum it up. It may not be supported, but it's not really debunked in the films themselves. So unless one goes to outside sources, I see no real impact on anything.
