The Things We Hate And Love Thread .
Time
bah christmas has no real christian meaning. it was all brought about to aid in the conversion of pagans. Yule and spring fertility celebrations were both translated, and now many of those same traditions aka trees, eggs, and bunnies etc. Jesus was believed to be born in either september or april, depending on who you ask. But i digress, though christmas has no real religious meaning to me, since i am not pagan, i still celebrate it as an americana-esc tradition. It is always joyful to give to the ones you love, and most importantly to spend time with them. Dont let the commercialism spoil a time you get to spend with loved ones...

Video Games - a general discussion thread

mmorpgs are something that are best left to the PC/MAC imo, just like RTS and to a point FPS. It, at this point doesnt seem plausable for it to be on a console, unless they become extremely computer like in the next gen. I think that a GTA MMORPG spin off would most certainly work, and could start a new "brand" of mmorpg, getting away from the scifi/fantasy driven games of today. I think that it could be a huge success, with all sorts of "rated M" content to drive the game, but i just dont see that happening on a PS# or xbox.

edit: and i dont forsee GTA going futuristic anytime soon, i would imagine there next move would be either overseas, or two a different decade again. GTA: Rio desionaire, GTA: Hong Kong, GTA: Moscow, GTA: Paris, GTA:London, are some that come to mind off hand as possible spin offs. If you are talking time periods these all jump to the front of my thinking GTA:1920' (mafia was big, p[rohibition was around, enough old cars, and guns to go around.) GTA 1970's(disco, and cocaine). They still have more than enough material to work with to keep cranking out games...

sweet potatoe and sasauge stuffing you say? i must know more, got a recipie?

You got The Joy of Cooking? It's in the latest version as one of the variations on a standard bread stuffing. You just cook up the sausage, shred the sweet potato and add both to your stuffing mixture. So simple, and yet soooooo very tasty.

no joy of cooking book, but i will figure it out one way or the other... thanks for the info...

so i am sure everyone has heard of the Pacers vs. Fans bout friday night. what are your thoughts

Personally, i hope the hammer continues to get dropped. Artest and co. got exactly what they deserved, i would have gone lighter than the whole season, but i understand where the commish is coming from. I hope detroit PD and NBA hunt down the fans that acted foolishly and prosicutes them. Further more i hope that artest, Steven jackson, and J Oneal all have charges pressed against them. It is time that professional celebs no longer get special treatment.

so i watched Pitch Black for the first time this weekend, and i actually enjoyed it. I am one to be extremely critical of most everything, but especially movie. I had heard many, many a bad thing about the movie, but i would say that i was pleasantly surprised, i would never dream of calling it a good movie, but i would still say that i was entertained by it. So my question to y'all is what did you think of this movie, and should i go and put forth effort to see the sequel? Also what types of back stories are available? I checked around and only found the movie novalizations, and was wondering if that was it. Are they worth the read? Any info is good info...

thanks

fawlty towers you say... hmm i might just go pick it up then
