May I humbly point to my comments in the first post of this thread:

With one exception, I haven't reached the parts of the movie mentioned yet in order to edit them (I just finished the hometree attack).  They are all however on my list for removal, especially the last one.

The scene with Jake and the book has already been removed.  As well as about 80-90% of all other environmental messages scattered throughout.  Much of Jake's voice overs are removed as well for environmental and political reasons.

I started working on this yesterday.  I had been waiting to get the subtitle issue figured out, but I went ahead and got going because that is taking too long and I may just end up recreating (and possibly changing) them.

Basically trying to keep all the environmental nonsense from being shoved down my throat and toning down some of the other quasi political rhetoric.  At the same time I want to trim it up and improve the pacing.

So far I’m about 10 minutes into the film, and while I haven’t cut a lot of actual footage so far, I have done a lot of audio editing, completely removing Jake’s voice over at the beginning so that it is introduced during his first video recording, and also eliminating some of that political jargon I was talking about earlier.

I’ve got a long, long ways to go.

Revenge of the Fallen: The Real Effing Deal (Released)
Time

Thanks for the thoughts Tim.

I never had a huge problem with the premise of the Sam/Primes scene, but wish what was really going on had been explored better, and I absolutely hate the look and feel of the scene.  I would have removed it if I could, but Bay and co. had to make the matrix fall apart.

I just thought tonight about perhaps doing some of the Prime's voices playing over the shots of Sam as they're working on him, so that you get sort of the gist of what's happening in his head, and what he's hearing, but without seeing the stupid scene that goes with it.

I'm too lazy to work on it though.  As far as I'm concerned I'm done with editing Transformers (until the 3rd one at least) and I'm going to start making Avatar a likable movie once Slysoft gets that encryption fixed.

Transformers: Reformatted (2007) - Blu-ray & DVD (Released)
Time
Version 2 is now complete and ready as a single layer DVD.
New runtime is 114 minutes with a total of 29 minutes cut (9 more than previously).
Biggest change is during the Witwicky home scene.
Also of significance is the removal of BB peeing, and the slight rearrangement of the city battle.
There are other various cuts, some mentioned in the previous post.

Additional Note: My combined blu-ray, Transformers: The Reformatted Collection, consisting of this new version of Transformers Reformatted and of Revenge of the Fallen: The Real Effing Deal on one disc in HD (sadly just 720p since Nero wouldn't let me go below a certain bitrate on 1080p and that just wouldn't fit) is done and ready to go and will be available as soon as I get it uploaded. A DL-DVD will follow, and then I'll upload DL-DVD and blu-ray versions of the films individually.
Vaderios: I completely forgot to fix that boom mike in the desert, oh well.

Transformers: Reformatted (2007) - Blu-ray & DVD (Released)
Time

After completing my ROTF edits I've started to revamp my edit of the first Transformers movie.  I have much better software than what I had when I did the first edit, and so using that edit as a starting point I've gone back to try and accomplish some things I tried before but was unable to do.  I also wanted to polish up a few transitions, and borrowed an idea or 2 from other editors.

Version 2 changes:

Cleaned up various transitions.

Removed a couple of second during Desert battle.

Removed Barricade's headlight probes.

Cropped footage during Barricade/Sam encounter to make cut more natural looking.

Cut part of Sam/Mikaela after Sam tackled her off moped.

Cut small bit of footage at end of Barricade/BB chase to eliminate obvious continuity error (shot of BB wheel inside warehouse when they should be outside).

HEAVY cutting of scene at Sam's home.  No more "earthquake," no more power outage, no parents in Sam's bedroom, etc.  This is now a very fast paced scene that keeps the flow going. (This is by far the biggest change in this version)

Cut Simmons talking about what he's allowedto communicate with OP.

Small trim to improve handcuff scene further.

Removed Epps line from BB/Giant cube scene.

Rearranged Mission City battle to eliminate delay between Megatron killing Jazz and Optimus' arrival (I was soooo close to being able to do this with previous software, but ultimately had to scrap it).

Had Megatron come through roof as soon as Sam gets up there (borrowed from Uncanny Antman, though pretty sure the cuts are different - I do keep the reason for Sam going to that building).

Removed "Shoot, shoot!" line.

Removed, "awww" from "Awww, Jazz" line.  (borrowed from UA also).

Removed BB speaking at the end.  (Tried this before and couldn't even really even get it close to working.  New Software made it possible, but still wasn't too easy.)

One last thing I need to try is to remove the BB pee scene (going to have to use UA's edit as reference).  I don't mind this scene myself, and I think it is in character for BB, but it seems to bug a lot of people, so I'll work on it.

Currently I've removed approximately 7 additional minutes from the previous version, and estimate the BB pee scene will add close to another 2 minutes or so.

First, thank you, I'm glad you like it.

Secondly, if you mean the dual-layer of the combination of 2 of the edits, then yeah it would be basically 2 SL-DVDs, just on a single disc format so one could watch either from the same disc.  There will be a DL-DVD version by itself that will have a higher bitrate so it should be higher quality.

Revenge of the Fallen: The Real Effing Deal (Released)
Time

This is my second edit of this movie (The Kitten Calendar Edition) and it’s actually been available in it’s first form for awhile now, though I’m putting the finishing touches on an updated version that I hope to have uploaded before the weekend is up.

What is it?  It’s basically my Kitten Calendar edit with about 5 extra minutes removed.  The extra footage that is removed is dealing with mostly the twins, but also Sam’s parents, and Wheelie.  The reason I made this version was to allow people who have an overwhelming hatred for those elements to still be able to watch my edit of the film.

The total run time (with credits) is now 125 minutes, which is over 25 minutes cut out.

It’s available now, but only in it’s first form (which focused only on cutting down on the Twins).  The second version (1.5 minutes shorter), like I mentioned earlier, will hopefully be available before the weekend is up.

First available will be a Single Layer DVD.  Following that will be a DL DVD with both the Kitten Calendar Edition and the Real Effing Deal version.  This will be a called “Revenge of the Fallen: The Reformatted Collection”  After that, a blu-ray of The Reformatted Collection will be available.

My personal opinion is that the parents don't need to be in the college scenes. You can take a lot of dead weight out of the narrative by dicing those scenes, and they are not missed by the plot at all. The movie's plot is structured in a ABC manner, but there's a lot of stuff between the letters that bogs the story down.

If I were in your shoes, my goal with the Real Effin' Deal cut would be to get it close to the first movie's tone and pacing. There's room in there for some cheese, but restraint must be exercised. If Real Effin' Deal is meant to appeal to a broader audience, then the bathroom humor and most of the footage with the Twins save for the bare minimum are going to have to go. You'll still have Kitten Calendar Cut as your own personal version, so try to remember that if you are feeling hesitation about cutting stuff from the movie that you already like.

Well the first film's tone and pacing are something I'd like to avoid since I consider it far, far worse and more bloated then ROTF was.

And if keeping only what's needed by the plot, I could cut out quite a bit, including a lot of action pieces.  But I get what you guys are saying.  I may very well go and cut out the parents, but then I'll probably have to use the alternate Alice footage that Geiferg used because what's there without the parents is not a very strong closure point to the the early college scenes.

It just depends on how much effort I want to put in.

I think I'll take out the parents for the most part, but I'm going to leave in the arrival because it's short and the audio transition from the NEST scene to the bells is much better than to the loud music, unless I put that awful Lennox line back in.

Edit:  Now that I look at it, I think I'm just going to remove the first scene with Alice and Leo drooling over her, and I'll keep a few more seconds of Sam's parents to have a good spot to end the scene (prior to the brownies).

I'd be ok watching it, but it definitely won't be the one I burn for my viewing purposes.

But the reason I made this cut in the first place was because the Twins seem to be the biggest dividing line amongst viewers.  Some like them, some hate them.  After that, then you'll have groups who hated the twins and are watching the the version without them, and that group will be split into those who hated the mom entirely, those who like her but felt it was too long, and those who like her completely.  And the same thing with wheelie, etc.  So it's difficult to find the exact line.  And I can't go just by the people who post on the other forums because humor, in any form, seems very taboo there.

There will be only one final version and once that is uploaded the first version will be removed.  I suppose people who don't like the Twins for the most part don't like the mom either (I don't get why people hate stoned middle aged women, especially when they have some good lines) so I may consider it, which would probably lead to the complete removal of the parents from the college part.

Transformers ROTF: Gieferg's Cut - (Released)
Time

Timstuff said:

Hats off to you, Gieferg. This is a superior cut of the film IMO, and to me proves that there's a gemstone in the rough of Bay's bloated, immature and sometimes downright illogical theatrical cut. I do hope that you will continue to polish this gem, because it shows lots of promise and I think that with enough refinement (and possibly Blu-Ray? *fingers crossed*) this could replace the original version of the film entirely. Even with its technical issues, this is still the preferable version of the film for me, and it brings the quality of the film much closer to that of the first Transformers movie, which is exactly what I am looking for in a Revenge of the Fallen re-cut. Keep up the good work!

I have an edit that is currently up as a blu-ray.  That cut has about 20 min. removed, but the Twins remained intact in that version, since I think they're the best characters in the film.

I have a second edit, which is basically the same, but with more of the Twins removed (about 3.5 more minutes are cut).  It's currently available as a SL DVD, but will be available as a blu-ray at some point.

I"ll also have a combination DL DVD & blu-ray which will have both versions on the same disc.

I may do a tweak or two to Shanghai section of the second version though, so it may change.
