THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)
Time

Wow.  There's some great history in this thread.  I will keep watching with great interest.  Time to dig out the "Creative Impulse" book and the DC DVD.  I was mad when the original cut wasn't included, but not suprised.  I had it on VHS, taped off of HBO or something from the 80's, until it disintegrated.  I went to the store with a smile when I heard about the DVD, and although I still bought it, felt incomplete.  I'm glad some people are thinking about preserving it.  Thanks!

"Death Troopers" - the EU novel
Time

The last book I read was Shadows of the Empire when it was first released.  I haven't picked up another SW book since and don't plan to.  Just not my cup of tea.

I'm guessing these are inspired by this book?  Or maybe vice-versa?

Irvin Kershner has passed away

A couple nice articles about Mr. Kershner, as well as some wonderful pics and video clips:

The picture with Irvin and Vader facing each other is gold.  Quint, Beaks, and Hercules said some great things.  They also mentioned how cool it would be if TCM did a tribute, showcasing his "pre-Empire" work.  I'd be down for that!

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

I was reading the thread about the image stabilization, and my head is now spinning!  Dark Jedi, you and your peers here are absolutely incredible and I am on pins and needles waiting for this!  The "bouncing around" has always driven me nuts and I look forward to popping these in.

Just so I'm clear and I didn't miss anything (43 pages!), these are going to be available as DL NTSC DVD as well as AVCHD?  Or, did I miss something?

I was reading the Leslie Nielsen article on MSN when I found out about Mr. Kershner.

Truly a sad day, yet I am relieved that he is no longer suffering.

Like many have said, thank you for the best Star Wars movie and I sincerely hope that the version you are responsible for gets the Blu-Ray treatment.

It would sure be nice if someone has a 1980 print to book at a theater in his honor.
