tv series poll

I don't really know what will be narrated in this future show, but IMO they should have choosed some good stories of the EU for the series. After all, the EU is such a big source for many stories, events, locations, and characters. All is not good but, there are so many infos in it, there are some great characters and great moments.
And another good point, many stories of the EU take place during or after the OT. It would be a good way to "reconciliate" with OT hard-fans, by showing more familiar stuff than the PT.

Concerning Lucas, I'd be really glad to see him doing something else than Star Wars. I don't hate his work on the PT, but maybe he could create some great "non-SW" things.
Sometimes, I like to believe he could make such an impressive movie than "THX-1138". The first time I saw this movie, I was thinking: "Wow. This is just genius!" and "I really wonder what could have been his career and his work if he had never made Star Wars?"... Sometimes, I really have the feeling that Star Wars (and I'm not talking of the PT, but the whole saga) has eaten him and his creativity. I mean, I love Star Wars, but it's just fun and entertainment, and THX is not, it's something much deeper, much clever and interesting.

So, concerning the series, I think it could be very interesting just cause they are many possibilities. Let's hope it will be good!

I think it could be interesting, for some reasons: a TV show hasn't the same objectives of a movie, just cause of the rythme, the story (one big story or/and many secondary plots), the length (episode and season)...
And also cause it would be not focused on the main movie characters. I believe it's one of the bad points in the PT, tell a story that is too close to the OT characters which have became really cult and famous with the time. Pretty hard to "touch" 'em now... This show could tell stories about new characters, giving a lot of possibilities IMO.

So, I'd like to see what could be done in this!

The Walmart DVD is on Demoniod.

Ell, you know that Revenge of the Brick was included as an extra on the CW Vol II DVD, don't you?

Yes, it's on the Clone Wars Vol2 DVD, but I like the fact of being a one dedicated DVD. Too bad they haven't made any menus in it...

IMPS The Relentless (Troops 2): A Dead Project?...or what?

Well, in fact, it's just the truth, it's an intro (at least the first part of the first chapter)...
In fact, I really love this "Empire commercial style" intro. And don't misunderstood what has been done in IMPS, it's deliberatly not a "Star Wars movie style" fan film. It ressembles more to a TV show (like "COPS", which has already been used for TROOPS). All the rythme, the directing, are made in that way.
Without being a real parody, it's not either a really serious fan film... at least, I see it that way... and like it...

Now the 1980 "Muppet Show" episode where Mark Hamill guest stars, that was a good variety show TV. Sure it was corny, but that was a good fun-time corny. I had no problem watching Mark try to gargle-sing with that scotish muppet creature. Even back then you could tell he was a great cartoon voice guy when he was impersonating Kermet and Fonzie. Good times, good times.

Yeah, this episode was great! I particulary love the idea of having Mark Hamill AND Luke Skywalker in the show, it's completely crazy... but it's Muppets!

Oh, come on! It's very easy to understand, and very explicit...
It's wonderful how the fans can yell against the "too-many-infos-that-ruin-the-mystery", and yell as well when some things are just suggested...
I agree with Adam, if Lucas would have shown Qui-Gon, it's sure that many fans would have critisized it...
Sometimes, I think that it must be hard to be George Lucas, with many fans yelling for every thing he puts in the SW universe...

IMO, we don't have to know EVERY details. I think that the force ghosts "explanation" is good enough, I don't need to see Qui-Gon's ghost (or just his "contact" with Yoda).

But yes, there were too many plot details in the last part of ROTS, too many infos at the same time. IMO, it would have been better if Anakin would have fall to the dark side at the very end of Episode II (without the AOTC story, I mean). And Episode III could have been better, made with all the elements of the very end of ROTS, with a real slower rythme, and describing the very ascension of Darth Vader. Just my opinion...

>1. The director, just cause he builds his stories only with the image (which is more appropriate to a director IMO)
>2. Alec, of course. But I really love the new "Obi-Wan McGregor", I think it's just the best character of the PT.
>3. Pupett. But I also like the CGI, which can let Yoda doing other things than talking, and being filmed only at the bust.
>4. Leia's hairbuns is not just a trademark, but a real "icon" of sci-fi. But, yes, the metal bikini is pretty hot.

Lucas and CGI in the Prequels

Well, I must agree on that. I also think that ILM has not made its maximum for the SE (at least in the '97 version). The SE effects are very similar (in terms of quality) to the deleted scenes of the PT...
But it could be explain by the fact that PTM work was already started at that period, and SE sfx were some kind of tests, to see what they could be able to do in the PT.

Anyway, all is not bad in the SE. A lot of effects are pretty well done, or at least sufficient IMO...

Yoda talking in OT vs PT, way different

Yep, I agree. It would have been pretty bad to see an exact copy of the OT Yoda in the PT...

How can you say that?!?
Ok, you like the "look" and the "feel" of stop motion (and it's the same for me!), but you can't tell that stop-motion is "better" than CGI, sorry (or you have to buy (new?) glasses...).
You know, I love Amiga computers, I feel a great nostalgia for these computers, but I'll never tell you that Amiga is "better" than my actual computer, just cause it would be a lie... My actual computer is far more performant than my old Amiga, and I can do things that I've never been able to do with an Amiga...
That's all, and it's the same for visual effects.

Note: if you're not conviced, go watch the JP documentaries. In one, we can see dino animations done in stop-motion (that was the initial technique choosed for JP). And now, compare with CG scenes in the movie. So, question: which one looks better?...
