Help: looking for... E.T. 20th Anniversary Edition in HD? (with info)
Time

tks161 said:

I was just beginning work on this exact project using an upscaled rip from the 20th Anniversary DVD and the BluRay, when I stumbled across this thread. The screenshots posted here of the 720 HDrip already seem to be alot better than what I was going to work with. Can anyone point me in the right direction for procuring that? I know direct links aren’t allowed, so perhaps PM with details?

From what I recall the guy you’d need to ask about the 720p rip would be towne32, I believe he was the one who captured it and was putting everything together, I just started the topic because no one ever seemed to think of doing a presentation and my love of E.T. simply made me bring it up 😀

Godzilla 1985 - Reconstruction Project (Released)
Time

Here’s what I forgot to put in my other post

In 2016, the International English dub was included on the U.S. DVD and Blu-Ray releases from Kraken, though the audio mix was not the original monaural track that was originally heard on Toho’s English language prints. The English dialogue was originally mixed with an alternate music and effects track that contained different music edits and sound effects from the Japanese theatrical version, most notably a distinct “cry” produced by Godzilla during the film’s ending. The U.S. home video version instead uses the conventional music and effects track used for the regular Japanese version mixed in DTS 5.1 surround sound instead of mono.

Godzilla 1985 - Reconstruction Project (Released)

Great to see this happening it truly is the last piece of the puzzle for this particular movie, now the Japanese version, international cut and American version can be together in HD, btw I feel like I should mention according to my research the cut of the film from monsters HD is not the same as the ones released on VHS and laserdisc, that print is based on an earlier workprint of Godzilla 1985 and has some different sound effects and other minor things, I had a list saved somewhere of all of them actually, anyway just thought I’d put that out there for restoring the theatrical version of 85 don’t base it off the hd broadcast

oh man oh man oh man. Is there any way I can get in on the preview?

Absolutely. I was going to limit it to just a few people, but there seems to be enough interest to warrant an open invite.

My reasoning for originally wanting just a few viewers was
well, in case there are any glaring errors I missed, or if something doesn’t have the same effect I’d hoped for, I’d rather a smaller group of people catch it for me to fix in the final release. In other words, I wouldn’t want someone watching it expecting a polished cut.

Though, I suppose, anyone who doesn’t want to get spoiled before the final release can simply wait it out. Most of the people here seem smart enough to know what they’re watching when they watch it.

When will the preview be and how can one watch it ?

YES !!! I’ve been looking forward to this ever since you’ve announced it, if the clips you’ve released so far are any indication on how great the final cut will be I’d say we’re all in for a treat (I mean adding grevious in for more characterization, so he doesn’t appear out of nowhere in AOTC is genius not to mention all the little details added in and of course the recolonization of the whole film) can’t wait

Idea & Info: 'Batman V Superman - Dawn of the Edits'
Time

that sounds cool man, the big problem I had with the movie (at least the theatrical cut, I guess we’ll have to see how the ultimate one is) was that their is all this other stuff going on and setting up for future movies and it really leads to nothing and by the time the final battle or even by the time Batman and Superman fight for the first time it feels like their was no real lead up to it, the best thing about the movie id the final fight with Doomsday and by the time it comes around it should feel like the culmination of all these things but it fell flat for me because I felt it needed a stronger story structure/lead up to the finale fight Im not sire if anything could be done about the overall tone of the whole movie but it really did feel pretty bleak and depressing maybe brightening the picture and enhancing colors could help (make those suits shine lol)

well with the 2 hour R-rated Ultimate Cut coming out on July 19th, I was wondering if anyone here will be tackling this one weather it be the theatrical cut or the extended one or a mixture of both, Hopefully Agent9 will eventually have a go at it a with a similar structure that he accomplished in his Man of Steel Edit (which he is currently revising for even more epic fanedit goodness) id love to see the film color corrected/recolored like Man of Steel Remastered, especially to enhance wonder woman’s suit and reveal the colors that were seen in production photos, superman’s suit is brighter this time around but still it could look bluer as for batman nothing really needs to be done except maybe color correction and brightness could show more detail on the suit idk I was just wondering and hopping seeing how well many MOS edits came out

Idea: Transformers (The Live Action Film Series)
Time

I just decided to binge watch all the movies again, and as I was I began to wonder why no one has ever attempted an overhaul of the movies with changes other than cuts (etc. changing plot points, lines, effect shots) a big change id love to see even if it was quick and not super professional is the altering of some of the Autobot and Decepticon designs (like recoloring them to match some of their more traditional incarnations) even though im not a transformers expert and have little experience with any of the animated shows/comics id really love to see recolors because I feel like no matter what, one should always attempt to translate any franchise/characters to live action as close as possible to their source material (0f course anyone who knows anything about Transformers knows that all these characters have multiple forms/designs depending on their generation so their is no one TRUE look to stick to so their are many possibilities and much fun to be had)

some thoughts/change suggestions

Give Megatron some color possibly purple and black areas to break up the silver
Remove flames from Optimus Prime and replace with more traditional Red/Blue and white colors
Give Bumblebee black and yellow color scheme
Color Ratchet Red and White
Give Sideswipe red coloring
etc this type of thing

Info: The strange case of SON OF THE MASK (dear God) - extra deleted scene
Time

well being the collector/completionist that I am I was stumbling around and discovered this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6Nb608AZVc a deleted scene not included in the us release (not even in the deleted scenes section) so were is this from and what country has this included on the dvd/blu ray
btw for some strange (it makes perfect sense) reason this isn’t on blu ray in the us but apparently France couldn’t escape http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Son-of-the-Mask-Blu-ray/110854/ lol seriously though I love the first mask and will probably end up getting this for collecting purposes (watch it once and lock it away, possibly in a chest created by Norse gods) also if anyone knows any trivia about the production of this “film” let me know I really wonder what the process was for its creation
