Xbox 360 or PS3 - Which is better? - Advice......
Time

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about the PS3 Controller - I hated it back on the ps and it's still just as uncomfortable.

It seems most everyone is in agreement on this and as an owner of both ps3 and xbox 360 I could not agree more -

For a media extender you cannot go past the ps3 but for a gaming console the 360 has what you want and is a relatively straight forward setup.

The party chat is great on xbox live, as 005 said ^ you can chat with mates scattered across different games - or you can drag your party around with you from game to game. It's a lot easier than trying to organise a part 'in game' - Although halo 3 has a nice and simple lobby system.

If anyone wants to add me on live my tag is Yegore. I'm not awesome or overly competitive, I just like to have fun.

LOST
Time

Season 3 was where they atarted trying to really pad out the story, and it shows. But gladly the got things back on track, the later stuff is different to the early stuff but IMO it's as good or better.

Can't wait for the new season to begin...

I watched the entirety of BSG again after the series finale and i'll probably do the same with Lost.

I'm all for this idea. 1) look at the chestplates on GG's bodyguards and tell me they don't look like the HAL9000 interface! 2) The general may have started out like the Jedi library archive, ala skynet... I also dig the Idea clone troopers existing early in Ep2, if it can be done - with the main issue being whether they be used as an armed force against seperatists of the senate...

Idea: a Star Trek 2009 Extended Cut?
Time

Good idea - but then he might not even need to call out anything. The brother can still see him drive by and wonder what is going on.

re: the McCoy scene, i can't recall exactly where it was, if i find it again soon enough i'll let you guys know...As i recall it wasn't footage from the film cameras just doco stuff. but the quality should be decent.

7) Kirk on car (does anybody have a good copy of the trailer ? It's not on the DVD and I need the scene of the car hitting the road without "IOWA" written in the top left corner)

not sure what you mean here, or did you mean Kirk IN car?

I'm pretty sure that ALL the main trailers are on the bluray. do you mean when the car flies around the corner of the intersection, or something else?

it's my understanding that they ALWAYS speak Romulan and the magical universal translator allows the audience to hear them in English. Personally i wouldn't be bothered by the Romulan dialogue...

Is all the English spoken dialogue after to [circa] 25 year time difference?

Pittrek - did you check other star trek sources to see if anything could be substituted in? - Klingon ships for example...

DOOM: knee deep in the edit. (* unfinished project *)
Time

Alright guys, Nobody is talking and fueling my motivation. So I'd better throw up a little teaser - most of what i have is rough and barely assembled at this point but I'll add a few scraps and see if it gets heads talking.

Remember, I'm always open to ideas and suggestions. There's a LOT of ideas on the table and it's really a matter of refining them and seeing what works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTPm2ILwlss

here's a very brief taste of what I'm planning regarding the ARK. I tried eliminating this part of the film completely but i could not come up with something better that was convincing. Nothing in the shot is final.

Next a bit of a teaser concept - just remember that even though it's a teaser these are still pretty rough in quality - temporary fonts etc....

{a joint effort between myself and Vaderios}

I'm sort of leaning more towards a grindhouse style - coloured with black shadows and a white outline. as seen here. [WIP]

I DO want to try and keep the classic style logo in the film - as impractical as it may be. I'm heavily reworking the film opening so it all depends how well things mesh...

By the by, would anyone be interested in working on a brief intermision clip in the style of "let's all go to the lobby" or old drive-in intermission ads?

Spaceballs 2010: The Re-Revisited Special Edition ON HOLD

Maybe there should be dueling edits. This "Revisited" type actually well made edit and a hastily put-together "cash-grab" with bad color tints and farting cgi cutout Rontos (nothing needs to be 3D, really, just look out of place). Or maybe the same person can do both?

I could cut out the ronto from TPM and paste it somewhere in the middle of the desert.

I hope you are NOT seriously considering this, I just can't tell any more.

I'm very interested in a revisited style fix for the movie but adding things that parody the star wars special edition [ie: bad colour tints] would be insulting to spaceballs.

it seems petty and childish [to even consider] and affects Mel Brooks work negatively - not George lucas.

The irony here is that in the same sentence you talk about Revisited AND LFL releasing something the fans want ;)

I'm just thinking we shouldn't get excited just yet. Let's wait until we have something more conclusive.

For all we know Ady may just remove Yoda from TPM entirely - I know I would.

Getting back to the idea of anakin adopting the established name of Vader - what if during TPM sidious introduced Maul as vader? swap out one word and the rest plays out as normal.

"This is my apprentice Darth Vader, He will find your lost ship."

It works for Ben to not entirely be sure of the details. it feels like ROTS tries to hard to tie up loose ends in the wrong ways -  in anh Vader says [to ben]

"when i left you..."

not

"when you left me scarred and dismembered to die painfully..."

But wouldn't Bens line in ANH "A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned evil" give it away? Or at least the idea of it.

Damn, you have a strong point here... I feel ashamed not having thought about it.

That is really no argument at all - Ben also told Luke half truths and flat out lies - ie: that Vader murdered anakin.- When he apparently KNEW otherwise.

Ben later told Luke about Anakin ceasing to be himself and becoming Darth Vader - In regards to this earlier quote above - he could simply have been stating similar circumstances - or at least events to his knowledge.

Did he know of another fallen Jedi who took up the VADER mantle?

Okay I've tried a few ideas and it seems that i may need to keep the Ark teleporter scenes from early on in the film - i'm not entirely out of options but i started to think about ways to improve on this when i realised that i may be able to make it more like the [classic] games. which is one of my many goals on the project.

I don't have my project files on this computer but i managed to knock out a quick [and very rough] concept -

What if Darth Vader is a borrowed name from another sith?

Like once a sith is vanquished, the victor assumes that identity? It consumes him figuratively and literally(as his moniker even changes)

He ceases to be Anakin Skywalker and becomes Darth Vader.

So the 1-6 audience would still think Anakin died because "Darth Vader" was still around.

But then once ESB hits, it would be "what? but he's not Luke's father because he died!". "Yeah but maybe Anakin really did survive, kill Vader, and assume his role?"

I don't know. Throwing stuff at the wall.

I've had the same idea - so i support this sort of thinking.
