and re: star trek TOS blurays - I actually considered getting them for a bit of fun but the sticker price was circa $230 PER SEASON! Hopefully no-one will buy them and the price will drop like a rock.

So...Anyone else playing Deus Ex 3?

I ran through on easy in a 'run 'n' gun' style and it took well over a week to finish. Pretty happy about that.

Now I'm trying to get through it without killing anyone - for an achievement. Sneaking around is a lot of fun, it's a good feeling passing through an area unnoticed.

Doubt I'd have had the patience to play this way on the first play through.

The last playable area in the game was a bit rubbish and I really didn't enjoy the boss fight moments but otherwise it's pretty solid.

oh, the other issue I had was that the character is dumber than the audience - I'd figure something out and 20 minutes later Adam would still be connecting the dots and acting surprised.

I found the ending to be a bit weak but had fun along the way. Visually the film was flawless but the story could have done with some tightening.

I guess DX 3 is DX0.

I never really got into DX1 when it was fresh - it came out at a time before I had a computer good enough to run it.

I got DX2 as soon as it came out and played through it a fair bit. I did get annoyed by some things but it was still a fun ride.

Getting mildly excited for Deus Ex 3 next week. Really hoping it doesn't suck.

I did like Deus Ex 2 though and it would seem that most people don't - or pretend to never happened.

I'm a little concerned about the sepia heavy colour palette - hoping that doesn't make my eyeballs scream after a few hours.

Got to play a bit of Goldeneye on the Wii today and I was impressed - I'm actually interested in a 360 version now when I wasn't really before - I find the wiimote very touchy and my aiming was all over the place but I slowly got used to it. I only played through some of the dam level and some training but it was fun and it looks like they've injected a lot of new stuff to keep it fresh.

wow that's a low blow Frink, even for you. I gotta agree with Warbler [for probably the first time] - Batman Returns really doesn't hold up well when you go back and watch it these days - sure, people like it but it's not a well crafted film.

And batman: the movie does have a certain charm to it.

Yeah science! Breaking Bad is like the second best tv show ever made. - ep 2 of the new season felt a little weak though.

Finally got to the end of Farscape - now I just need to watch the miniseries. Also watched the latest True Blood and some Krod Mandoon.

About to get into spartacus and the latest of Star Trek phase 2 - that fan series that pretty much looks on par with the quality of TOS. - anyone else been keeping up to speed with it? - the eps take forever to be released but they've had a few high profile quest stars like George Takei..

So the Sektor / Cyrax stuff happens before Kano gets his ass kicked by Jax. - Was that the same Doc that patched up Kano? haven't had a chance to check.

Maybe the ep2 stuff could be intercut with the cyber initiative stuff?

I was just thinking that the Rebirth take on Johnny Cage and Baraka was a lot more interesting so maybe the Interviews and stuff from ep 4[?] could be reworked into some sort of Johnny Cage tribute? - since we was killed off in Rebirth. His meeting with Shang Tsung never really led anywhere in the series proper anyway.

I'd advise against using the cheesy synth music from the films just out of personal taste.

In the end do as you wish - I'll probably have a go at Rebirth expanded style fanedit at some point and there's no need for us to all be on the same page. Have fun with it.

RE: MK Conquest [also sometimes called Konquest, i believe] - while kinda cheesy I've found it to be much more enjoyable than the films. I've only seen about 5 episodes.

When you were a kid? surely you jest! why the movie only came out 30 odd years ago.

This movie either scared the hell out of you or you've never heard of it. Trailers on youtube paint it as some sort of comedy / kids film but trust me, this thing was nightmare fuel.

agreed, it goes from a 4 ball movie to a 1 ball movie at the drop of a hat.

Watched Dante 01 - a french sci fi film. It was kinda average but the trailers had made it look pretty interesting. One thing that ruined it for me was the terribly english dubbing.

it's also never entirely clear what is going on so it had the potential to be good but it just doesn't quite get there.

Those are looking good ESF. You can probably adjust it further but already it's much better. The overall look is good.

Maybe look at boosting the saturation after tweaking the colours? iirc The last crusade was pretty rich in colour.
