Inception - over-rated. 1 ball out of 10.

You better run squirrel.

Sry, just was confusing and illogical to me. The movie seemed to try real hard to inject an emotional angle on it, but came out lame to me.

just remember Johnny tried to warn you when you find yourself cornered by xhonzi and his ilk.

So how about that Google+ then?

so far it's me and 005 and not much else. Seems cool but yeah, early days and lack of socialness. I'm just there out of curiosity really.

Mark Knopfler calls em Deodorant Cowboys.

He's 'called' other musicians worse...

The little faggot with the earring and the makeup
Yeah buddy, that's his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he's a millionaire

sure context is key but still...

I've actually been meaning to check out wolfenstein, I might see if i can find a cheap copy.

I think some of the stores nearby are still stocking the collector's edition of Bioshock 2 so I might look into trading in Duke nukem forever and getting a copy of that, hopefully tomorrow.

I'm kinda surprised I never played B2 but since I'm really just 'waiting for November' right now [halo, elder scrolls, et al] it's probably a good time to jump in.

re: Duke Nukem, i was always going to look into it but it's a pretty sad state of a game, firstly - it's an incomplete mess bolted together into a rough narrative, secondly - it borrows and steals ideas from better games - and insults those same games [verbally] at the same time and thirdly they've made Duke Nukem into an absolute cunt of a character - you kinda want him to get his ass kicked.

Went round to a mates place during the week and we ended up firing up conflict: desert storm. Anyone remember this guy?

I always loved the 2nd one but for some reason it's not supported on 360. Took us back to playing through those games as a team.

I'd played them all except the newest one - Conflict Denied ops.

Fired it up and discovered in horror that it was a completely different style of game - a crappy shooter for two players with basic goals and a fairly non existant inventory to manage - also no weapon pickups - you keep what you have with unlimited ammo.

I was hardly surprised to learn the company [Pivotal] shut down after releasing that turd of a game.

What posessed them to throw away a great formula in favour or something so lackluster?

Yes. and...it was good. I wasn't sure at first but I like where they've gone.

I was getting sick of the direction the show was headed last season and so far it feels a bit more like the early stuff.

** Minor spoiler below.

The Gary Cole cameo had me grinning from ear to ear.

**

watched Ep 3 of Falling Skies and liked it more than the first two. It's still got some way to go to find it's feet but for now at least I'll give it a chance.

I hear you.

the pilot [2 eps] should have started at around the point it ended - with maybe a few flashbacks to set the scene.

Any time something interesting came up the story quickly turned back to the 'us and them' between the military and civilians - and even that didn't really go anywhere.

the overall idea could be good if they do something with it, so far they haven't really.

I have a feeling it will get better as they split from the main group on their quest and the main character might actually use his booksmarts against the aliens rather than just to bore people.

Great Scott! Back to the Future (Was: Bringing to Pass BTTFptII's 2015)
Time

In case you didn't get the joke, that was 1985 in an alternate reality - on FRINGE.

I like Eric Stoltz but I don't think he could have pulled off the character in quite the same way.

Kind of sad that this movie's "prediction" was way off on just about everything except for gas prices.  We look to be on target for the $7/gallon prices in 4 more years.  Assuming we don't overshoot it. (Even more sad that the movie wasn't trying too hard to actually predict things and were probably trying to be as sensational as possible with things like gas prices.  Instead, they were just right

They purposely created an unrealistic future since you can't really predict what the future will be like. They decided to just have fun with it.

I think you're on a fool's errand Xhonzi.

A Star Trek - Original Series Primer? ~or~ What 5 or so episodes to show an 8 year old to introduce him to Kirk and Spock?
Time

Kilngons? you mean those sweaty 'Pirate' looking guys?

City on the edge of forever probably isn't great for getting someone up to speed but it IS a great episode.

There are still some that I haven't seen and it's been a while since i've seen any. I might consider checking out the HD remasters.

Favorite Songs

My favourite song right now is Mace Spray by the Jezabels.

Some other stuff I've been listening to -

Dreamshaker - The Redcoats. Sounds like the bastard child of Pink Floyd and Muse.

Two against one - Daniele Luppi feat. Dangermouse and Jack White.

Panicswitch - Silversun Pickups

Addicted - Bliss n Esso

Crave you - Flight Facilities

Rich kids blues - lykke Li

Adagio for TRON - Daft Punk

re: Halo Anniversary - they have mentioned it being a less than full price game, but they did plan the same for ODST initially so Fingers crossed.

Apparently there's some event in August where they'll reveal more on Halo 4 and let people get their hands on halo anniversary.

It's been a certainty for a while now that there'd be more halo games and why not? - they make money. 343 Industries was set up specifically to handle HALO releases.

Halo 3 was also open ended with somewhat of a cliffhanger.

I didn't know it actually came out. You'd think angels would have heralded it's coming, as long as we've been waiting for it. Or not caring, as the case may be for me. Sounds about like what I would have expected: crap.

well, we were meant to get it before you guys anyway - no idea why. Here it broke street date by a day as well - probably to make money before all the negative american reviews?

and as far as waiting all this time - it would be equally disappointing for a game in development for 2 years.

the thing is that duke 3d kind of had a style to it and they've ditched that to just rip-off other games - while mocking those games at the same time [ie: the halo series]

it's kinda sad that Halo is getting a TEN YEAR anniversay re-release - that is the same game and that's more exciting.

Is anyone else playing this? - i know i'm not the only sucker who bought this.
