the Wolfman. not obscure enough boost.

WRONG!!!!

The answer was "Legends of the Fall"

But you were close. That was the gimmick.

OK... now for the rules of the game.

How detailed a description can you give of a movie... while still having it apply to more than one movie?

You described the wolfman. Give me my prize.

Helen of Troy (from the Iliad) is widely known as "the face that launched a thousand ships". Thus, 1 milliHelen is the amount of beauty needed to launch a single ship.

people make up obscure units of measure all the time, I wonder if such a system could be converted to television rating. Ideally - the most basic of entertainment would have a rating of 1 milliBreakingBad.

Just finished season 1 of Homeland - I'd rate it seven hundred and fifty thousand milliBreakingBads - or 3 balls [of 4] by todays current standards.

Episode 3 of Danger 5 tonight. Can hardly wait - they often talk about it...but I don't think they'll ever kill Hitler.

Started on MASS EFFECT 3. impressed so far. I imported my character from ME2.

The detail looks damn good and I'm playing on a SD projector. haven't seen in in HD yet.

I've seen a bit of combat and some familiar faces but I haven't done that much yet. Trying to savour it and enjoy the story.

also started on MW3. it's meh..okay. Never been a big fan but at least it's better than the previous effort.

Got a motorola Xoom recently and put Scummvm on it. Just been tinkering with that, checking out old adventure games, Monkey island and Day of the Tentacle mostly..

tried running doom on there but it's unplayable without a decent interface.

Can't wait to-

Hold on, that doesn't sound like...

-put them on my shelf-

Ah, that's more like...

and play them maybe never!

xhonzi by the numbers!

Just picked up a pre-owned copy of Modern Warfare 3. Not a big fan but I find I have fun with some of the modes in splitscreen - ie: one in the chamber.

Long weekend coming up due to a public holiday so planning to have some friends over and connect a few xboxes and a few wall projectors...could be a bit of fun.

Thought about picking through the bargain tables and getting a few cheap games but then realised that Mass Effect comes out in two days so decided to save my money for that.

Its learned to mimic human emotions from the early nineties!

If a machine, a spambot, can learn the value of human emotion ... maybe we can too.

Been watching a mix of new and old things.

Really didn't think much of Game of Thrones but I've been assured that it does get better so pressing on with it.

With news of a new series of Red Dwarf in production I've gone back and started watching my favourite episodes throughout the series. I'm curious about the new series...hopefully it'lll be a return to form. The 'back to earth' special really lacked the two things people really wanted to see - A resolution to the previous series claffhanger ending and jokes that are actually funny.

also been catching up on sitcoms like 2 broke girls [not a porno] and newgirl [also not a porno].

LOST: The Complete Third Season - 8/10

What are you, a masochist?

I've started watching Homeland. I fear that they'll try keep it going for years and it will all fall apart but at this early stage it's very entertaining.

Centers on Marine Sergeant Nicholas Brody, who returns home eight years after going missing in Iraq, and Carrie Mathison, a driven (and possibly unstable) CIA officer who suspects he might be plotting an attack on America.

I've also started watching Game of Thrones but I'm less excited about that. It's kind of a mix of rather bland moments and gratuitous scenes of sex / violence.

I have plans to watch Sherlock but not just yet. I might wait a bit and watch them all in one go since there aren't many episodes yet.

I have had the misfortune of being exposed to The Andromeda Strain.

Not the Michael Crichton book or the Robert Wise film but the 2008 Miniseries.

Symptoms include nausea, lethargy and circulatory problems caused by high cheese content.

I also have a sore head from plot induced face/palm percussive injuries.

I hope Ridley and Tony Scott put whatever money they made from this cactastrope to good use as I for one would be ashamed to have crimped off these inches.

Do not approach.

I turned it off about 10 minutes in.

Read the post above mine, it was in response to Leo's TNG reference to a brilliant episode of TNG along with his admission that he's never even seen a single episode of TNG.

Ahhhhhhhhh.....

Maybe there will be five lights on the Bluray.

Watched 50/50 yesterday. Overall it's pretty good but I found some parts to drag a bit. 2 balls. Apparently it's based on a true story.

The thing that has me worried is that we'll be watching the same basic cast of characters - including a potentially untrustworthy android.

It would be a bit strange if the xenomorphs are not referenced in any way shape or form. It might even feel awkward if they go out of their way to keep the Xenomorph race out of the plot.

We know that the film involves at least humanoid aliens and locations at least reminiscent of the original film, both are presented in the trailer.

The trailer shows the large ship crashing but even if it's not the derelict from Lv-426, the design is basically the same as the environment where we first encountered eggs / facehuggers.

I've been keeping an eye on the Star Trek ongoing series and i dig the style but i'm not that interested if they continue to adapt original series episodes.

What's the point of rebooting the saga if you're just going to tell the same stories again

I hope they'll go in a more interesting direction with it.
