watch it, creeper..
Fringe has been a bit weak lately but with this latest episode it feels like it's getting back on track. I kinda predicted the outcome but it didn't spoil the fun..
the recent nonsense with the observer felt like a real dick with the audience - trying to tell us one thing all along only to debunk it later..
2.5 balls
also caught up with the latest ep of Danger 5 - also the season finale. No idea if there will be a second series but there was a post credits wink wink to the audience. good fun.
3 balls
also they did / didn't kill Hitler - Schrodinger would be proud..

Latest webseries - Tabletop. produced by Felicia Day and starring Will Wheaton. good fun. 3 balls.
He invites people along to play a tabletop game and hilarity ensues.
also watched an episode of The Flog starring Felicia Day but thats only a few minutes or so. Tabletop is a proper half hour show. It's pretty entertaining - i'd say 3 balls also.

Started reading the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Not far in at all but interesting so far.
Also reading a few Stephen King short stories on the side - just finished mile 81.
Last novel I read was 11/22/63. Also by Stephen King. awesome book, probably the best thing he's written.
If the title isn't obvious it relates the the Kennedy assassination.
also got some Heinlein to get into when I can find the time..
Also been keeping tabs on some comics on the side - not really a big comic fan but checking out a Planet of the Apes series by Daryl Gregory - it's set in a time period not covered in any of the films where man and ape live side by side and things are really starting to go pear shaped..

It was kind of sad to watch all the excitement and build up in this thread, then to see it all deflate with that last trailer.
Dude, you get pumped for Twilight..
I'm concerned that the whole thing could fall flat but I'm still interested in going to see it and expecting to be entertained for 2 hours.
people seem concerned that it's too much of an alien prequel - I'm thinking it might not enough of one, but then I don't consider Alien to be sacred ground.
as Bingo stated, we may still never see the proper origins of the 'space jockey' - just a set of events that fit into an earlier timeframe to Alien.
anyone else notice that the creature - that might be holloway is wearing a suit that looks a LOT like the skin of the xenomorphs? - and also the early shot in the proper trailer where something seems to be blacking out the sky - something that looks like niether of the spaceships we've seen..

RE: awake - I think there's more to it than that, but I don't want to dig too deep atm and just enjoy the ride.
These Syfy guys clearly have absolutely no idea how to handle science fiction or fans of it - maybe they could spend a little cash to bring somebody on board who does...rather than spending a lot of money on projects that just get shelved or cancelled.
I'm sure they could have just done short seasons of Caprica and B&G and just leapfrog them - covering all the bases.
and RE: babylon 5 - did anyone actually manage to stick with it al the way through? I read a lot to fill in the gaps but I'm sure I missed quite a lot.

So...Growing a Riker beard is kinda the opposite of jumping a Shark on skis?
From what I understand Battlestar Galactica is what Voyager would have been like if Ron Moore had his way..
I think there's only about 5 people that liked Enterprise, myself included.
Incidentally - anyone else seen the teaser trailer for BSG: Blood and Chrome? - looks pretty flashy but there's not a lot to go on yet, just a lot of action scenes set to Trent Reznor's version of Immigrant song.
Cool to see classic era cylons, raiders and basestars.
Been checking out AWAKE and it's interesting so far.
The Walking Dead is getting interesting but it's still pretty uneven. Although they HAVE been killing off a lot of 'red shirts' so i guess it has no choice but to get better...
still got a lot of stuff on my 'to check out' list...

Anyone here seen it? It's some indie sci-fi film made about 40 years ago. I'd never heard of it before, but it's pretty good!
I've heard of it...is that the one with that guy who played Indiana Jones?
I think I saw the Director's cut a few years ago.
Watched Real Steel yesterday. Wasn't impressed at all. with all the product placement it just felt like an infomercial.
they could have at least focused more on the spectacle of robots boxing or at least the father / son storyline.
1 ball.

WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T I SEEN THIS FILM!!??!??
and hey it's by Nicholas Meyer - the guy responsible for the 'good' star trek movies (the early even numbered ones) let's all see it then reconvene.

How detailed a description can you give of a movie... while still having it apply to more than one movie?
A time travel parable which features a protagonist who accidentally time travels. He at one point has a rather awkward and wholly inappropriate romantic entanglement. Conversely through time travel is able to make her life better. At some point in the film he meets that particular girls brother. Some comments are made on the brother's jail status.![]()

The Butterfly Effect?
