been noticing a lot of promo pics of 'the new Ripley' and in each she appears to be wearing the same outfit but the lines / piping running down it are a different colour in each shot..

Is this a spoiler?

well, it's just what I observed during a single magazine article - and cover [Empire magazine] - but this includes BTS shots, characters goofing off between takes - Maybe there's a lacking CG element? - might take a look through the trailers again.

regarding the R rating - Scott was quoted in the same article saying 'the little bastards will still get in anyway, so what's the difference?'

he also mentions the financial risk of doing it as a PG-13 movie..

Edit - Regarding the shift in technology between this film and the others - it IS possible, however unlikely that the storyline will address this.

IT's been said that the last few minutes of the story tie in pretty strongly to Alien - in what way, I don't know.

In the TED talk 2033 clip Peter Weyland describes the fire that Prometheus gave humanity as TECHNOLOGY and of course he was punished for this.

We just don't know how things will play out yet, maybe humanity is plunged into a sort of technological dark age?

It seems that most fans loved x2 - where nothing much really happens and hated x3 where the plot moves forward and raises the stakes.

I feel x3 is a bit underrated and x2 is WAY overrated. Loved x1 though.

I agree about Wolvering - but he's a cash cow. He's been in five Xmen films now with at least 1 more on the way...

Alien. 3 balls.

I'd forgotten how young Weaver looks in this one, She [Ellen Ripley] seems to have aged a LOT for somebody who spends most of her time in Stasis.

And given that the entire crew goes into stasis for long trips - including an android and I assume the cat - doesn't it seem odd that food is left out in the meals area - wouldn't it spoil while they sleep?

also, Jones[y] is a dick!

that is gold.

re: Avengers - all you really need to know is that it's funny, exciting and unpredictable.

The 3D is well presented but the movie is great without relying on it.

They probably could have done a bit more to bring the audience up to speed - I'm sure plenty of people will see this who haven't seen the lead in films and might get a bit confused.

From what I've read they did plan to cast Edward Norton as Hulk / Banner again - but now I'm kinda glad they didn't. I do get a bit bothered when parts are recast but after seeing this film Mark Ruffalo IS Bruce Banner / Hulk.

AVENGERS

This movie gets a perfect rating [4 balls] from me for one simple fact - after TWO horrible attempts somebody finally did THE HULK justice.

Not only did they get him right he pretty much steals the show.

That said there's plenty of other great stuff and everyone is on their game in this one. The plot follows on from the lead-in movies - thor, iron man, et al and does a good job of keeping the pacing tight and interesting.

And yes there IS an extra scene at the end but they moved it up into during the credits rather than at the very end - plenty of people had already walked out by that point but my friends and I stuck around 'just in case'.

oh and an extra ball for not putting the best bits in the trailer ;)

Saw a new trailer for Prometheus attached, nothing really different from anything we've seen so far, maybe a few seconds of new footage and a less dramatic feel overall as well as some cool music.

Pon farr. Wooooo!

They should make a spin-off Jersey Shore-esque soap Trek series that takes place on Vulcan and features young Vulcans constantly fighting with their emotional sides. Star Trek: Pon Farr. I see a winner.

Two men enter. One man leaves.

and then later the other man leaves.
