Star Wars Advance, a trailer of a mod I just finished programming.
Star Wars Advance, a trailer of a mod I just finished programming.
I tried to make my own implementation in C for fun, but the result isn't that great as you can see :D (I used Mos Eisley's frame as reference, though).
Do you think it would be possible to match teamnegative's work to Legacy's color timing, once more frames will be available?

Vader heard speaking with that voice was the only way he'd be able to fly ;-)
Nope! :D

Typical 21st century release strategy -- put a blockbuster movie out several days ahead of time in Europe to maximize box office receipts for opening weekend. Make the sales numbers look good, as fast as possible, because these days films are only in theaters Stateside for around a week.
Meanwhile, American SW fans like me have to stay off the Internet for a few days if they want to avoid being spoiled blind before they can even see it in theaters.
Not sure about movies, but as far as I know it's quite the contrary: it's usually Europe the one getting most of the stuff AFTER America :D

Mais oui! Pardon!
I was joking, non preoccuparti :) It's just that TFA will be screened on...

Yes!! I'll get to watch the film before most of you!
fixed
This is the escaping pod(cast) I'm looking for. Thanks!
December 15 in both France and Italy.
You know, TFA was originally scheduled for January 2016 in Italy: they say it was because theaters were more prone to screen Zalone's new film in December (apparently his last comedies were box-office or something). Star Wars fans complained to Disney, to the theaters and some to Zalone himself! :D In the end, Zalone's film's screening was delayed to January, and now we got TFA scheduled for December.
Leo Ortolani (Italian cartoonist) also made a special strip about it (rough translation...):
(ding dong!)
SOMEONE: Checco, would you mind?
ZALONE: Who is it this late?
ZALONE: Oy, what if I told you I got 35,486 emails just this evening? (Ah! Ah! Cool!)
It looks good! Your algorithm may be really useful to future preservations.
Disney chose the Dark Side: his way is quicker, easier, more seductive :D
I think the problem is they're rushing things (fromo comics to posters) to build the "hype" for the new trilogy.
Never noticed it :D
Maybe the 2004 SE was cut using mostly 97' SE's footage (not the o-neg), except for those shots using new special effects.
I myself am "guilty" of growing up with the 97' SE :D
I'd like to watch the OOT and, if I want to (rarely), still be able to watch the SE (though, no magenta skins, please...). No fan should attack the OOT, we should have both versions ready.
Is that Dr-Zaius Kenobi™?
Can't wait for today's announcement!
Let's not forget that even if it couldn't be released, its previews and pictures are still the best reference to the original Star Wars. Every restoration will highly benefit from Legacy.
I would've liked to see an Aeneid-like "descent into hell" with Luke talking with his father about his destiny, but I'm not sure about Anakin and Obi-wan being portrayed by their PT actors. Well, it really depends on how they officially appeared as ghosts in ROTJ, and still you have Obi-wan as Alec Guinnes, not as Ewan McGregor, so that's confusing... :D
Great work! I'm sure the project's going to be worth all the time you spent on it. Thank you!

This is scheduled for completion on September 7th?!?
Great Scott! Can anybody confirm this?
Blue push, magenta skins... it's probably the 2004 SE, just like here.
I suspect it's either as Tobar said, or that he changed his name into "Ben" before serving the Organas in the Clone Wars.
That's Hardware Wars :D

Because the OT characters used English or at least English sounding names? At least that's what I always imagined
I think this too. They introduced him as Ben because it's a familiar name, so we wouldn't feel too disorientated in a galaxy far far away.
Mini-teaser this time :D
Is it just me, or the "narrator"'s voice is a bit "synthetic" this time?
Donut? Is a baba still ok?
There's a pre-SE Star Wars reference book called A Guide to the Star Wars Universe. It was published in 1984 and even talks about the Clone Wars. Should we trust its content for the timeline, if necessary?
I don't think I can keep track of three different timelines at the same time :D
