Idea: a possible Red Dwarf fan film...

Back in the days when they used to make cinema features for sale in foreign countries out of American TV shows, they would swap scenes around and have scenes of the next episode starting before scenes from the previous episode had ended. So there was an overlap. Trouble is this is difficult when you have a small cast of characters I suppose like Red Dwarf.

Info: I found some Battlestar Galactica (old series) - fan edits with CGI

So you can turn the bug off huh? I should look deeper into the program. For encoding I was using AutoGK, will have to see if that is in the settings.

No you have to go into Divx settings in 'Divx settings manager' in programme menu. The Divx logo is part of the Divx codec itself, it's not to do with any encoding apps.

Keeping all the quality settings at max. However the divx "bug" would be imprinted on the video here and there and the letterboxing helped hide that.

The DIVX logo can be switched off in DIVX settings.

Have you tried editing with Womble MPEG video wizard? You can edit MPEG2 straight off the DVD and it saves your edit and only re-encodes the edited parts.

Is the lack of quality in art a kind of art form?
Time

On topic, I think that some film makers do successfully use crapness to comment on certain issues sometimes. My first example would probably be Verhoeven's 'Starship Troopers', which, I would say, uses crapness to attempt to alienate us from the human characters and make us more sympathetic to the bugs.

I wouldn't say it was crapness, he used an element of gung ho cheesiness to create a satire.

There's a current attitude in the entertainment industry which believes that obvious special effects, crappy dialogue, or unrealistic drama and acting is a good thing. It supposedly mimics some age-old "serial" or represents some unfathomable "vision" which some creators actually have the stupidity to be proud of. These “artists” believe that low quality art is actually a kind of art in and of itself. Personally it all makes me sick. It gives people an excuse to be lazy and intentionally waste the time of other people with obvious trash.

Yes it's a shame. For example Spielberg proved that with Raiders Of The Lost Ark, you could pay homage to the age old adventure serial and still have an excellent script, with excellent acting and drama, and brilliant stunts and effects. Without feeling that you need to make it intentionally crap.

That was AWESOME!!

Usually Star Wars video parodys are dumb but that was clever and brilliant. Very unexpected. I wish i could download it.

Nice little clip. It would be better to re-create it in AfterEffects in a big size than just to down load it.

It would indeed, I don't have the time however, could you make it for me. Thanks dude.
